based on asus web, that router only 2x2 only... since 850l also 2x2, better him take another router...

My bad. You are right. Should take TP-Link Archer C7 v4 instead, which is 3x3.

QUOTE(farisumar93 @ Aug 21 2018, 03:56 PM)
Today finally got status change from "Unifi Pro 100Mbps (RYE 2017)" to "unifi 800Mbps (Turbo Upgrade 2018)" , I live in Tmn Melati Kuala Lumpur Area. I did not receive any email or sms prior to this

After I got home from work, I restarted the router and onu and run a speed test but only get 264.42 Mbps download and 97.56 Mbps upload.  The router I'm using is Asus RT-AC1300UHP and speedtest from wifi show almost same result.

The question is does the Unifi speed upgrade increase gradually or is there something wrong  hmm.gif
*
Are you on 5GHz? If you are, that means your router and receiving device could not support the turbo speed.

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Aug 21 2018, 04:00 PM)
Sigh.......wifi.....mods better pin FAQs on how wifi works for these type of questions. There are 3 - 12 users asking same question every 24 hours.

I am responsible for the front page for this thread but there is no point. They won't read and will still ask repeatedly.

Using that site got better result but still far from 800Mbps but still happy biggrin.gif

O.o? 400Mbps?

Must be 2x2:2 client device for this device with PHY link speed of 867Mbps. Factor in 40 - 60 percent overhead (error-correction, inteference, frame retransmission), that about right.

Try run speedtest using LAN cable.

RM500 + FINAL BILLS (very important if you don't want headache later) + remaining of HyppTV if below 12-months.
Maxis will give you 1 month rebate?

not sure if maxis is giving 1-month free subscription now or not particularly for the new package. no mention if the installation is free or not too.

can they use the existing unifi infra which just setup maxis BTU and wifi gateway for it to work?

i dun mind to pay rm500 to terminate my existing unifi. maybe i will wait till hypptv contract is over which it should be pretty soon, since my service starts on 29 Nov 2017.

To mods/ TS,

I suggest to put a FAQ as below:

1. user which has been turbo'ed - mbps, state, area, time updated date - lynid
2. recommended routers (wifi, cable)

These 2 are the most asked thing, it would be better go have a glance to know which area has been turboed

case by case lah, you walk-in TM point for better calculations first...
If you terminate before 12-months then kena more, if exceeded 12months then maybe only RM500 only...

Let's me know after you asked, I'm going holiday abroad soon.

1. Possible, but very time-consuming and pointless, as there does not seem to be a set pattern on who gets upgraded where and when.

2. This is a bit tricky, and is not really feasible, and I rather answer the questions as they come, as no one would care to read. Most people who ask the questions would ask it here, before even doing further research, on simple things.

I think it depends on when your contract started. Recently the termination terms were changed for those who started contract after a certain date. It is based on full montly price, ie listed price before discounts X balance contract time left. There was an announcement a few months ago, maybe you can search for it for details.

Had a look again on this month's bill and judging by how many didn't get turboed but price discount, I'm sorely dissapointed that I might be one of them. mad.gif

Before then it used to be RM169 (internet) + RM30 (HyppTV Platinum pack) = RM199 monthly w/ RM50 discount perpetual

Now it's the same price but upgrade the useless one (since my parents watched on unblock tv) shakehead.gif doh.gif

What are the chances to get turbo speed?? I don't have much hope on TM anymore...... icon_question.gif

Bandar Botanic, Klang btw
