Just a quick question, my passenger windows are all having issues going down on its own, need to push it down while pressing the button. Driver side no issue (rarely use passenger windows cause i drive alone) do you know what part to fix for this?
Driver side lock doesn't pop up fully so have to manually unlock the car, is this the door centre lock issue?
*
Sounds like weak motor on the passenger side. Just search for power window motor persona on shopee. But always recommended change the regulator/bracket too.

If center lock issue, none of the locks will work when you use remote and you can hear a click coming from under the dashboard on passenger side. This sounds like sticky lock issue. I think some silicon grease spray will fix it.

Just changed the whole rear suspension. Here's what it cost me:
1. Absorber bush kit = RM46
2. Rear struts set (original Proton) = RM206
3. Rear lower arms (should be original Proton)= RM155
4. Rear trailing arm bush (full rubber) = RM65
5. Tulang anjing small and large, local made Zenwa = RM150
6. Stabilizer bar bush = RM10
7. Stabilizer link (don't think it's original but seller said it is) = RM70

Labour and charges including charge to install trailing arm bush = RM350
Camber and alignment = RM130 (I think the shop charge RM40 per rear camber, RM40 for front alignment and stuff)

Total = RM1200

Is it worth it? Absolutely yes. Now the old car no longer bounces when going through bumpy road.

Hey guys, discovered my radiator spare tank hose is leaking as I can see color at the end of it connecting to the radiator.

The spare tank hose and the clip. What is it called? I tried to google but couldn't find it online.

Coolant reservoir hose?

But if it's a low pressure hose, any aftermarket silicone hose should do the job just fine.

Yeah, that's the hose I mean. Do you have any link to the item where I can purchase?
I tried searching in Shopee/Lazada, but those general silicone hoses came in different diameter. E.g. 3mm, 4mm 5mm

You can go to spare part shop to enquire. If you buying online best is have a caliper ruler to measure intenal diameter of hose to place order accurately.

On hind sight, it would be a lot more accurate to measure outer diameter of radiator nib.

Belt tensioner between original and aftermarket have any difference other than the price? I think mine has started to make some funny noise when the A/C compressor kicks in.

It sounds like you drag a chair across the floor. Not the usual rat squeaking noise. Doesn't happen all the time, only at random. So far I have no luck recording it because it does it's random.

It's life expectancy was designed to change together with timing belt.

I have tried after market brand. It never lasted long as original proton. So i switch back to proton until Zordaq told me i can use tensioner of Preve after change the screw. The spring of Preve belt tensioner is stronger and should last longer. Will have to see how it goes. So far so good.

but the price... holy cow man. really makes you wonder what kind of QC or what kind of secret sauce they use. i'm using RM150 'original' tensioner with metal pulley, probably 2 years old at this point. turns out proton no longer make this kind of tensioner, now it's only plastic pulley.

Yeah i wondered that too. Their spring damn strong. Good thing is it's easy to change so it's okay to run with after market brand if you financially tight for now.

But if you go with the plastic pulley, remember to superglue the cap of the pulley bearing. There's chance of it falling out.

Never happened to me before, some said fan relay need to be replace, some suggesting thermostat and some say the radiator need to be flush and change the new coolant.

I suppose the easiest way to check is to start with coolant first. Are they dirty with rust? How long you haven't change them?

thank you. This morning I am decided and sent my car to flush all the rusty out, changed the coolant, replaced the thermostat and new rad cap. That cost me rm154 including the labor charge. Thank god the metal pipe is still good and shiny 🤩. Now my radiator fan no longer starting itself. My previous flushing was about 3 or 4 years ago lol.

Patutlah hahahahaha. Remember to use distilled water instead of pipe water for your radiator.

Sharing some differences I found between original PW812313V1 tensioner compared to aftermarket

user posted image

Left is original, deeper hole for the mounting bolt head. Right is aftermarket or original tensioner made before 2020.

user posted image

Left is original, have a little groove at the marked place. Aftermarket is just a little gap.

Original proton is made by INA. Images is taken from shopee, original price around 280-350 while aftermarket can be from 50-200.
Do note that the new tensioner uses shorter mounting bolt because of the deeper mounting hole.

Asked a workshop to change the tensioner. My Persona is the non IAFM model with original Campro engine. Foreman refused to change my tensioner from metal roller to plastic roller because he's concerned about the compatibility.

Anyone can confirm if I can use the tensioner with plastic roller instead of metal one? I asked on Gen2 owners group, they said should be no problem, plus Proton no longer make the old model tensioner.

Can't help bro. I'm on IAFM model. But IAFM vs non IAFM should be intake only. So should be okay to use.

ya, would be weird if cannot use. double confirmed with proton part seller said it's the new spec.

a bit sad la because first time try this big workshop. they look like a proper place with waiting room free wifi and stuff, rajin update on social media about car stuff. close to my house too.

now the workshop is on my no go list. sigh. i had my suspicion when i ask them to look at my aircond and the repair guy was quick to suggest replace compressor. on hindsight, probably i won't go to any workshop that have official tiktok account.

Well, they pull you in using good marketing but didn't retain you with good service. Shame on them.
