QUOTE(looqsonline @ Feb 10 2021, 10:39 PM) oh really .. i thought something stuck in between the door panel .. i dig dig korek korek nothing also .. Maybe a couple of the tooth on the regulator chipped, causing a misalignment whenever it goes up and/or down. Pushing or pulling the glass to move it up may solve it temporarily but eventually the pressure will cause the gear on the motor to totally misalign, not pushing up the window at all. It’s a cheap fix, you can DIY or buy the part then go to an accessory shop to get it fixed. |

From the video your motor seems fine to me. Running strong pushing the window up and down.Had the same issue with mine few years back. Best if you know how to DIY it. I don’t have the tools and I can’t be bothered to change it myself so I just send it to the accessory shop to get it replaced. Ended up spent the entire time watching the fella do it, which I could’ve done it myself by borrowing tools from someone. |

Hi. Anyone had experience changing their front headlights/headlamps? Today I replaced the old original headlamps with RM180 local made after market set from shopee. It does look great, shiny and all. However, the adjustment screw didn't work at all in the right headlamp. My right light beam is pointing too low. No matter what I do, the beam just won't move up, down, right or left. On the left side, the up and down adjustment works, but the right and left didn't work. Spend 3 hours fiddling with the adjustment screw, slowly pushing the gears inside the headlamp hoping that it will do something. When I just about to give up, I noticed that I can push the bulb socket from behind and adjust the beam. So I pushed it up and down until I think the beam is at the right level, give it a little shake to make sure that it won't move and then leave it. So lesson for today, don't throw away the old yellowed original headlamp. It's definitely better to try some sort of headlamp restoration and coating instead of buying a new aftermarket headlamp. inferno_17_85 liked this post

You also have another choice; which is to replace only the cover on the headlamp instead of the whole headlamp itself. |

QUOTE(xandras @ Feb 12 2021, 02:21 PM) Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe you’ve bought a bad set of headlamps instead? I'm still trying to figure out how the headlamp works, it seems that the light beam height is adjusted by adjusting the tilt of the reflector. The reflector is pushed by a threaded rod which are turned by the adjustment screw and a right angled gear. However, at some point the adjustment screw in both headlamps simply pops out from the housing. I'm thinking that somehow the reflector refused to move, and instead of pushing the reflector, the right angled gear on the long screw traveled, causing the adjustment screw to pop out.You also have another choice; which is to replace only the cover on the headlamp instead of the whole headlamp itself. If this happens in just on headlamp, yeah I think it might be an issue of bad unit. But in both, it feels very unlikely. |

RM 180 for a pair of new headlamps, I’m inclined to think they’re not originals and was not built to the same standard as the ones that came with your car. And if they’re not originals, I wouldn’t be surprised if the adjustments don’t work as they should. If this happens in just on headlamp, yeah I think it might be an issue of bad unit. I asked around on FB.... it seems that this particular brand is notorious for adjustment gear popping out of the housing. lol. what a bummer. NHF brand aka New Hoong Fatt. Local made in Klang. Bought rear tail lamp set from this brand few months ago, thought it was pretty okay...Other user only vouch for DEPO brand from Taiwan for cheap aftermarket. It's only a few bucks more expensive than NHF. Guess I'll try polish the original headlamp once again. |
