i ran some tests with below files on my equipment... 4k HDR (non Dolby vision) tv, 4k HDR (non-Atmos AVR).

Q10pro (hdmi 2.0a) deliver HDR10, DDTrueHD - expected. Not blank screen or broken audio.
below explanation says it all. and i am quite sure Atmos works the same way - a layer of meta data on top of DD+ or DDtrueHD.
if u r shopping for a new TV, and i think u r... get a copy of some of those files on thumbdrive/HDD, take it to test on the shop TV USB playback.
those files work fine on my TV direct usb playback, get 4k HDR as expected.
my understanding is the TV need to be HDCP2.2, hdmi 2.0a compliant to deliver HDR10 and DV (need license).
need hmdi 2.0b for HLG.
many 4kHDR tv's cost rm3-4K, no DV... some people even say they are "fake"... u can shop for those 8-10K, i guess.
latest hdmi2.1 with much higher bandwidth will take care of everything... sure.. if u have the $$$ to replace everything!
it's all about $$$... how fat yr wallet is for avantgarde tech.
