Hi all,

I'm going HK soon. Wonder if i can use BP there if the shop or restaurant accept CC payment.

Do i need to call up to activate anything?
Any extra charges or hidden charges when i use BP oversea? *not withdrawing cash
Besides, any website shows BP currency rate ?
*
Yes, can use.
No need to activate anything.
No hidden charges, just make sure you charge it in HKG dollar (local currency)

Check out mastercard conversion rate calculator - https://www.mastercard.us/en-us/consumers/g...t-currency.html

When I did addon for meal for my Airasia flight, after choosing BP as payment the meal was discounted by rm2 but after payment it was back to the original price. After reading the FAQ, I only realised it was not applicable to addons. So better to use other CCs like PBB VS for cb as addon doesnt charge processing fees.
You will be receiving exclusive AirAsia benefits when you use your BigPay card with AirAsia such as:

i: RM0.00 payment processing fees

ii: Discounts on pre-booked check-in luggage and in-flight meals. Discounts will only apply during your flight booking - it will not apply after your flight booking has been made.
*
Yea, happened to me, too.

The fact that there was a RM2 discount price shown is misleading.

I am going to Beijing too and I haven't change my money at money changer yet. Is there any additional fee charged by ICBC bank of China besides the RM10 withdrawal fee by BigPay? What about other banks? What about Mastercard acceptance at merchant in Beijing? Curious to know. I have also opened up a saving account linked with UnionPay at Public Bank and ask friend to send me CNY into my WeChatPay. WeChatPay seems to have limitation as our verification is using a Malaysian issued mastercard
*
Wait! Do you mean the PBB UnionPay account card allows you to link to China wallet in wechat?

just wondering there are charges if u roam in overseas right? like fix amount(RM38 for maxis) per day.
*
Roaming is free for Maxis.
Only calls (inbound and outbound), SMS outbound and Data incur cost.

If you turn on roaming without using any of the above activities, you won't be charged at all, because inbound SMS (OTP) is free.

oh, i thought once turn on roaming, the daily charge will come in. The maxis CS also insisted that.
Thanks for the information, next time i know i can on the roaming d if wanna reload.
*
the keyword here is 'data'.

Once you turn on Data Roaming, the RM38/day will automatically kick in and you'll have all the bundled entitlement comes with that, regardless whether you use it or not.

The experience I shared earlier is pertaining to Hotlink prepaid and it's proven, too.
If you are postpaid, better double check with the CS by highlighting NO Data Roaming.

What if u want to use a foreign SIM with voice/data plan in dual SIMs mode, u can't turn off the MOBILE DATA. I was told to turn off the data plan of Malaysian SIM only.
*
QUOTE(LostAndFound @ Dec 4 2018, 06:49 AM)
Which dual SIM will allow data on both? You have to choose which sim to use for internet
*
LostAndFound is correct. In any dual SIM phone, you can only activate 1 SIM for data.

If you using SIM from foreign country and Malaysia respectively, just make sure the Data Roaming is set to 'Never', then your Malaysia SIM will never get turned on for data roaming by accident and cost you a bomb. You can still roam nonetheless, less the data.

Mobile Data must be on right? if want to use the foreign SIM for voice and data.
*
Yes.

the 'Data Roaming' = 'Never' mentioned is under the settings, in order not to allow Malaysia SIM to roam data.
Foreign SIM card bought from local country is not affected as it will not be considered 'Roaming'.

i have an issue with shopee using bigpay last week. The payment failed at payment gateway, but the transaction was recorded in bigpay, then next day become status become "settled" already.

Shopee denied receive money from Bigpay for that transaction and said it will be refunded to my account within 14 working days. Bigpay CS in the other end told me that merchant has claimed the money. So which one I should trust ?

I already filed a dispute to Bigpay and still waiting for the refund back to my Bigpay. Anyone encounter this kind of issue before ?

I am facing the same issue, too.

Exported Excel file could not reconcile to a tally figure. Missing somewhat RM40+.

Even they are in operation hours, they wont return the card to you because they unable to verify your identity. Which mean they will just destroy the card.
Exception is there provided you speak fluent thai and “ persuade” the branch manager. They will request you to go and do a police report and get some sort of evidence regarding the ownership of the card from the issuer. Things can get real complicated here because of their inconsistent policy, been there done that.
To be frank if you come thai for vacation for a few days or a week it doesnt worth your time to do all that thing just to get back your card. Always bring some spare cash, credit card and BP to avoid any emergency. I for instant if the atm does eat my BP, i will just cancel the card and request a new one. Too much trouble just to get it back imo in thai haha.

getting a replacement card is fine.

I am more concern about the money that was not dispensed after balance was deducted.

i have a query, i have transacted a transaction thru shopee using my old BP card. Subsequent to that i was advice to change my card to Masterwave and i have already activated it.

Following on, the online transaction was cancel and will be refunded back, i have called shopee, the refund will be credited back to my old BP card. Would like to ask will the refund transaction be reflected to my current BP account? Or what should i do on?

Thank in advance

QUOTE(hye @ Jan 22 2019, 08:49 PM)
The reload will be made to the card that was used to make the purchase. Merchants would not entertain crediting back to a different card. You need to wait once Shopee execute the refund and then contact BP to move the credit to your new card.

I'd advise you to monitor the refund progress both @ Shopee and BP.
*
I had exactly the same scenario. The refund took quite long until I forgotten about it. Then only realize the refund made it thru to the new wave card without having to request anything.
