anyone been to puchong/glenmarie/shah alam/PS222 's SC?

which is better?
*
For Glenmaire, you have to call to make a booking and sometimes the slot is only available in 1 or 2 weeks time.
So better call at least 1 week before you want to send for servicing.

The turnaround time is also quite slow due to the car volume, i.e. a minor service will easily take about 3-4 hours, excluding the free wash while major service will easily take a whole day.
I was also told that for major service, can only be arranged during weekdays.

Thank. @kskoay @voncrane.
I just looked up the spec for skytint.. it look pretty much the same as much preferred 3m crystalline. Except for the fwd windscreen. Suprise to hear that it is bad.. anyway thanks
*
The front windscreen is the worst
The side and rear are still decent, and you can still add sun shade if not dark enough.
But for windscreen, can’t do much other than to change the tint

Actually... installing Engine Sound Proofing got different or not? i means by a lot or barely noticeable.
*
Not a lot, but noticeable.
I did the engine sound proofing for my 2.2D Awd at Jack's place.

I forgot to bring my sound pressure meter to test before and after readings bangwall.gif
I have the SPL meter when I was playing with HiFi/HT set-up decades ago

Anroid interface + BLAM Signature Speakers+Venom Dsp +Subwoofer+Tuning.... = perfect sounds. Thx Jack Liue for converting my CX5 into live studio.

*
You did not do soundproofing for the doors?
How much did you spend all together?

Honestly I wouldn't wait until warranty over than only mod my car, by that time I will start searching for new car replacement. No more excitement.
*
Indeed bro.
How can tahan to wait for 5 years or 100k km? tongue.gif

For me, the thing that I wont touch is hardcore modding like mod the engine, charge the gearbox, bolt-on turbo, etc.
But other mods like change the suspension to adjustable, change the whole exhaust set from extractor to muffler, etc I don't mind to do if have the budget as done before for my previous ride while still under warranty

3rd year clocking 27k, seems ok.

Mine a year clocking 10k, is it too less?  hmm.gif
*
Average is 20k km per year, hence the 5 yrs/100k warranty.
But for me, average is 30k per year as my weekly average is 600-700 km, hence why I opted for 2.2D
Just ngam-ngam 1 full tank per week
After 1 yr 7 months ownership, already clocked 47k

I was driving mt cx5 few days ago, around 90km/h.
I brake and change lane, and i saw my cluster meter there appear a big word “brake” for like 1 sec. after that it dissapear. Cant find any info from the manual, you guys has any idea?
*
I’ve triggered the “BRAKE” warning for many times already. It should be under FWD (Forward collision warning) or AEB (auto emergency braking) if you search in the manual

hi guys, do you feel our car break too soft? everytime have to press harder to break the car.  Almost 5 months, i still cannot use to it...especially when emergency break required!  Is there any way to adjust it in SC? modification of break is not an option as i dont want to ruin my warranty. thank you
*
It's a well known "issue" that when we raised this matter to the instructors during Mazda Academy driving class, we were told that it is designed like that by the Japanese designers.

Can always ask from the SC if they can do anything about it.

QUOTE(Duckies @ Aug 6 2019, 09:40 AM)
Any reason it's designed in this way?

Could be due to the "Jinba Ittai" philosophy? tongue.gif

*
I hope it's true, as previously circular from Bermaz HQ to their SC stated that not to change ATF oil.

QUOTE(kevinlim001 @ Aug 9 2019, 10:09 AM)
because the design for SUV, MPV and Van the brake cannot be too stiff.. it will create of forward force when u brake.. ur passenger will feel sick / uncomfortable when u brake everytime. If the brake is soft then u have more room to train your leg. The reason i point out mazda academy is because if the trainer made you do emergency stop and if you are able to stop in time/distance. If no then maybe is braking problem not the stiff/soft prob.
*
Well said bro.
After more than 1 1/2 yr driving CX-5 and clocking closed to 50k km, my leg and my brain already used to the soft braking feeling.
Mazda Academy is a good place for CX-5 drivers to learn more about their cars.
When I joined the 1st session late last year, it was only RM80 but subsequently they increased to RM100

Buy those cheap TPMS with external sensors from Lazada bro.
Cost less than 100 bucks and very easy to install.

When to change air filter, today my friend car 20k service been told that need to change air filter! Rm128. Dealer service
*
No such thing for me when I did my 20k servicing at Bermaz Glenmarie.
Air filter is included in the free service.

The only optional (need to pay) is aircond servicing/oiling for Rm222.60 during 30k servicing and rotation, alignment & balancing for Rm90.10 during every service interval

Guys, i want to ask something. Diesel cx5 do not require carbon deposit cleaner (the one in bottle thingy)? I brought my car for service and was told like that. This is the 3rd service (20k) so far never been given deposit cleaner. The service advisor mentioned, use euro5 is already adequate
*
No free deposit cleaner from Mazda for CX-5 diesel.
If you want, can buy diesel deposit cleaner from Caltex or Lazada.
Should cost you about Rm50-60/bottle.

Mazda Radar Cruise Control, i.e. Mazda implementation of their adaptive cruise control, like Honda Sensing or Subaru EyeSight

Our CX-5 only comes with dumb cruise control

QUOTE(thurtin @ Sep 6 2019, 12:30 PM)
Because of the torque and extra equipment really. My heart didn't choose the 2.5 or wanted to pay 24k more for the upcoming 2.5t.

I had two pickups before this. We had always had pickups in the family too. We even had a 2009 Ssangyong Acyton that ran just fine for years even with no dealership in Malaysia and was "hard to find parts" for. Sourcing for parts was not a problem by just searching online for Korean specialist workshops.

I really think it's a local myth that diesel cars are more expensive or difficult to maintain than petrol cars. Diesel engines built much tougher, but the downsides is of course its much louder and polluting, especially with the old gen diesel engines. Mazda's diesel engine though is the complete opposite and seriously very impressive.

If you are the type that worries about the cost of fuel all the time, you shouldn't look at a SUV in the first place really. Diesel is just 10 cents more expensive but it gives you almost 50% more KM anyways.
*
We welcome you to the 'D'ark side biggrin.gif
At first I was also a bit hesitant to go for 2.2D as this is my first diesel ride although I drove company issued Navarra and Triton diesel pick-up many years ago.
But after clocking 50k km in 19 months, I'm quite happy that I opted for 2.2D Fwd over the 2.5 or 2.0.
I was driving a 2011 Sportage GT and the missus own a 2014 CRV, both of them 2.0L Awd petrol and after I test drove the 2.2D, I made up my mind already. thumbup.gif

Hi....am considering to buy cx5 2.2 diesel but not yet decided on 2wd or awd. Is the 2wd wheel spin really that bad as reviewed by evo malaysia in youtube. Any owner can comment on this?
*
I've been driving the 2.2D 2wd since Feb 2018 and clocked above 50k km already.
So far only encountered wheel spin twice during my first 2 weeks ownership.
That occurred when I stepped hard on the pedal from stationary position on slightly graveled road.
Once I know how to control my feet, no issue already.

The 2.2D Awd will be discontinued when the 2.5T Awd is launched.
So if you need 2.2D Awd, better place your order now

QUOTE(Lowyat111x @ Sep 11 2019, 09:01 AM)
some video shows that 2.5T > 2.2D ... apa macam?

hahahahah...... did anyone tried 2.5 vs 2.2D ??
*
I think top speed wise, on paper the 2.5T will beat the 2.2D due to the extra HP.
But ChasingCar Aussie reviewed the 2.5T recently and they said the 2.2D feels smoother over the 2.5T.

Hi new owner of CX5 2.0GLS here (SRC). Nice to meet everyone here =)

I was at Glenmarie SC last week and they told me can only do installation for Apple Car Play and don't have for Android Auto. I emailed and messaged Bermaz HQ but until now no reply on Android Auto support
*
It's not officially supported since Android Auto is not available in Malaysian Play Store (correct me if I'm wrong since I'm using iPhone) but you can always install AA by side-load the Apk to your Android phone and enable the AA for your car.
Many members who have installed ACP/AA module to their cars have no problem running AA on their CX-5
But install at your own risk

Yesterday my service warning lighted and upon checking, my tyre rotation is due.
Does sc does this for us on next service or we do outside?
*
Only certain SC can do tyre balancing, alignment & rotation and this service is not part of the free servicing.
If you require this service during your periodic servicing, you have to inform the SC.
Glenamrie SC charges Rm90.10 for the above and other SC might charge different amount.

If outside shops are cheaper or better, no point doing it at the SC.
Some people do this at the SC during the servicing as it is convenient and time saving
