Just sent my Feb 2018 2.2D Fwd valve recall at Bermaz Glenmarie paint & bodyshop.
Completed the PCM update within 1 and 1/2 hour and will collect during lunch time.
Also complaint on my LHS side mirror not fully retract.
SC said warranty claim approved but parts need to wait from Japan

The recall is similar case to Australia? Only did the re-programming and no part change? since rumor said the re-programming might reduce the torque to <400  dry.gif
https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recall/maz...x-5-my2012-2018
*
Yes,
I believed similar recall but over here the SC just reprogram the ECM and no part change unless the fault is detected by the car ECU .
The reprogramming of the ECM will take about 1 and 1/2 hour only.

Some members said the torque is reduced to 400Nm and only reach the peak at 2500 rpm, whereas now it reach 420Nm at 2000 rpm.
Only proper dyno test can tell whether what the members said are true as Bermaz will definitely not going to admit to such thing

Hi, any different between sompo insurance vs 3rd party insurance, benefits like warranty extend or others. Tq
*
Other than the 5 years no betterment clause (you can search in earlier posts), another advantage is that if you insured your windscreen with Berjaya-Sompo, if you want to change your ws at Bermaz, they will do everything for you.
If the insurance is not from Sompo, Bermaz technician told me that owner has to pay for the replacement first and to claim from his insurance later on

Another mod to make my car more lively. Dont ask me if I care about my warranty or not. I dont know how to answer either.

.....
ok thats it. kthxbye
*
Thanks for sharing bro.
I still don't have the balls to do some mods for the engine yet.
So far my mods only for cosmetic and security

Also, diesel owners... Sent in your rides for "correction" as per official recall? Butt dyno how?
*
Sent mine 2-3 weeks ago.
Butt dyno really disappointed. Last time pedal to metal when the RPM hits 2000, can feel that your back almost planted to the seat, now can’t feel the torque surge anymore.
But the FC has improved as I’m getting 15 to 15.5km/L for the past 2 full tanks when before my FC was about 14-14.5km/L for the same drive

Did my first 1k service last Saturday.
According to them, for 1k is only inspection. No change of engine oil...first time i heard about this..anyone oso get the same.

*
For earlier adopters with 60k free servicing, instead of the current 100k free servicing, the 1k service includes change of engine oil too.

Hey.. Remote batteries running low. Anyone replaced theirs? What type of battery should I get and how do I open it up for replacement?
*
Very easy bro. Did mine few months back.
You just need good quality CR 2025 battery (eg Energizer, Maxell, Panasonic, etc) and flat-head screwdriver

Follow this instruction below:
Keyfob battery

Or can search in youtube for video guides

Hehe, sorry.    Which is nicer - artic white or snowflake white?  It is worth paying Rm3k extra?
*
As the above reply, better compare the 2 whites side by side and under different lighting conditions.
Only you can decide whether the snowflake white worth the Rm3k extra.

But showroom dont have side by side comparison and so far also dont have a chance to bump into them side by side in parking lot or shopping mall parking  hmm.gif
*
If you like the glittery pearl effect, go for the snowflake white.
It looks quite nice, especially the glittery effect when driving under the hot sun.
But honestly, quite rare to see the snowflake white on the road, if compared to the other premium colour.

Just a random question, my 2nd service is due (3 months) but I haven't reached 10k mileage, should I send my car for maintenance or wait until 10k mileage?
*
Whichever comes first, i.e. the due date or the mileage.
If the due date comes first, then just send to SC for servicing on the due date.

did you guys tint the cx5? if yes, what brand and spec and price

i wonder should i retint or just use default madza skytint
*
If you're in a budget, just retint the front screen and use window shade for the side and rear windows.
The stock side windows safety tint is still quite decent but the front windscreen just totally and utterly PoS. puke.gif

If you want to re-tint for the whole car, prepare to spend Rm2k upwards for well-known brand from 3M, Llumar, Vkool, etc.

I will check with BS then as to why they locked my NCD. Anyway, do you continue your renewal with BS or with other insurer? I am thinking of continuing with BS but would like to check for more feedbacks before proceeding.
*
Mine is due for renewal after this CNY.
The advantages of BS are maybe their betterment clause, hassle-free windscreen replacement at Bermaz SC but so far I've not claimed my insurance for the past 2 years driving the CX-5.

I've compared the online quotation and Etiqa seems to give cheaper price with more benefits.
All my previous 3-4 rides were with Etiqa and for me their claim procedures and approval are very fast.
I can also get higher agreed value with Etiqa compared to BS.
With BS, the agreed value for my 2018 2.2D 2wd is only RM128k, whereas with Etiqa I can go up to Rm14xk.

Yes but the betterment clause is only useful if your car is old, no?

Anyway, I am used to Etiqa too and am considering changing to Etiqa.
*
You are right, betterment clause is only useful for older cars.
Buying the insurance from Etiqa online will also entitle for 10% discount

I'm from Northern Malaysia. so it could be around 50-70 kot.. hmm.gif
*
Bermaz Glenmarie charged RM90.10 for alignment, balancing & rotation.
Outside shop should be cheaper

Yea. Right after a month I changed, they came out with this new pricing. 300++ with 2 years and 40k mileage warranty doh.gif
*
I believed this offer is only valid for Q85 battery and only for first time change after the stock battery.
For diesel T110 battery, 1 member did ask for this promo at Bermaz and was told it is not applicable to 2.2D blush.gif

Had been asked the service guy, this Car changed the new engine unit, because of water came in thru front air-intake directly to engine caused pistons broken.
During floods time the went through and suddenly one 4x4 car passed by and cause the water spilled in the air intake the front grill there!
Total cost is rm30k++, insurance cover 50% only the rest have to pay by owner.
So it is a risk when heavy rain and muddy water on road. Be cautious!
*
It's best to take natural disaster coverage if stay or frequently travel to flood-prone area.
Pity the owner

hi sifus n gurus. wanna ask how long n what step shud be taken to replace front windscreen? hit by big stone at hiway. really appreciate the feedback
*
Your insurance coverage include windscreen cover?

If yes and under Berjaya-Sompo, call Bermaz SC and ask which SC does windscreen replacement.
They will do everything for you including the claim.

If your insurance is not under Berjaya-Sompo, Bermaz SC will still do the replacement but you have to pay first and self-claim from your insurance later.
Else, you can call check with some windscreen specialist shops as some of them will kow-tim everything for you, including insurance claim and tinting.

If they have stock, normally will complete in 1 day, i.e. morning you send, afternoon can collect your car already
If you don't have ws cover in your insurance, prepare to pay RM2k at Bermaz SC

yeah. insured for 3k under BS. will they install tint tghter? or i need to do outside?
*
Give them a call to find out more.
When I call them before, they said need to wait for at least 3 days for the glue to dry up before can send for tinting.

If you do at outside windscreen shop, they can pre-tint the windscreen before installing the windscreen so everything will be done in 1 day
