Thanks for the information.

By the way, if i renew from Berjaya Sompo branch, what is the differences between renewal from the showroom?

Because my SA sent me something about Mazda Zoom-zoom package.  hmm.gif
*
I believed it’s about these package, but as some members already commented before, these benefits are not really useful for car less than 5-years old

Hi Widget, the photo you shared is Mazda Zoom-zoom package?

And which one you get?
*
Yes, it's the package if you renew with Berjaya-Sompo at Bermaz.
I renewed via my SA because when I compared online for the same coverage value with Etiqa or others, the premium is among the cheapest.

For my previous 3 rides, I've been using Etiqa for most of the times as they were among the cheapest, but I found that after the insurance liberation last year or two, Etiqa was not the cheapest anymore

Hi guys

I'm buying the 2.0 GLS this month, loan approved, but I just saw some news the new facelift coming? anyone have more info? worth the wait?
*
I heard that the changes are mostly to the interior with new cluster meter, LED cabin light, etc but the price jump is more than Rm5k rclxub.gif
I doubt there will be any changes to the exterior as 2019 models in US, UK, Aussie, etc still remains the same look.

Last time you renew from Etiqa how much ya?
Now you still take Etiqa?
*
Bro, please re-read my post again doh.gif
Etiqa was on my previous rides, not my CX-5

For CX-5, I renewed with Berjaya-Sompo via my SA, not direct with Berjaya-Sompo or online

You can always get Etiqa quote online.
In fact, you can easily get online quote from other insurance too

Opps. Sorry for misunderstand that..

Ok. I think i will consider renew from my SA for just RM115 more, less hassle.  brows.gif
*
No worries bro.
Let your SA do the work for you since he also get commission for the renewal.

How does the new digital meter looks like? I think somebody posted the picture at Facebook before and it doesn't look much digital. Maybe that's not the new meter.
*
If it is like the one in FB post, the digital seems to be for the big center dial, but the smaller left and right dials are still analog.
Not fully digital meter like those found in Tiguan

not fully digital, you can see the middle there have some sort of LCD plate.
This is to display some wordings/info around the center dial and middle of the dial too.

*
Still look dated if compared to the Europeans, but at least the water temp dial is there already tongue.gif

At that price for a HB. I personally would choose a cx5, for the interior space and independent rear suspension.

*
No doubt about that if the household only required 1 car.
But for families who are looking for a second car, the price of the new Mazda3 are not competitive compared to their rivals.

How was the handling? Was it under or over your expectation compered to other rival cars?
*
Above my expectation for an SUV, but definitely cannot beat a sedan biggrin.gif
Much better than my previous 2011 Sportage GT and my missus 2014 CR-V

The trainers kept only telling us on the walkie-talkie to push the CX-5 harder while we were worried that our CX-5 will topple or turn turtle tongue.gif

How do you describe the "sonic noise"?

so.. what to get for new zoomzoom? with budget constraint .... only those really must have
mats, bot tray, shades?,

good to have when i kena jackpot (if, might as well change x6... well...)
no coating, no re-tint (maybe later to darker the sides...), no led moving coz pretty in the eyes but useless biggrin.gif, no need carplay or auto....
*
Mats an boot tray are not that critical unless you don't like the look of the stock mats biggrin.gif
Shades is important if you don't intend to replace the louya Skytint

Other than that, maybe pedal plates, pedal lock, dashcam,
Thee are not that important and don't kacau the warranty , just nice to have

According to the article, only those with cylinder deactivation impacted. Btw, do you know which are the petrol brands? I have been using Caltex Ron95 since day one.
*
IIRC, the petrol brand that members in FB & whatsapp groups talking about is Shell.
Some says Ron95 while some says 97, so best if you read the threads in FB groups on the fuel pump issues

there are 2 types of fuel pump for cx5..
1 is the one located underneath your rear seat to suck pump from fuel tank. (this can be faulty when overheated because of habit of the driver to always allow car to be on low fuel mode)
anther 1 is high pressure fuel pump to supply fuel to engine. (this can be clogged due to the dirty of fuel supply).. not to say if 95 or 97.. if the fuel quality is bad then it will happened..
*
As 2.2D owner, I'm not worried of the fuel pump problem as so far only happened to the petrol variants manufactured in 2019.
My main concern is on the so-called radiator blown-on issue that happened to some Thailand and Taiwan 2.2D units

no u dun have to worry about that if you are driving a diesel.. u have to worry about the diesel particle filter (DPF). Taiwan units, the have fix the software issue where the nature of cx5 is putting the higher gear during accending to save fuel but stressing the engine/turbo too much.. malaysia do not report this case thou..
*
Good to know that, just that the Thailand 2.2D units are assembled in Gurun plant and they also encountered the problem like the Taiwan units.
We can only speculate the problems happened on Thailand units as they don't use at least diesel Euro5 for their 2.2D sweat.gif

Paiseh!
I stand corrected,
It is from Kulim, not Gurun.

QUOTE(zepherrxl @ Jul 17 2019, 12:56 AM)
Hi, heard from FB cx5 group that 2019 CKD model has many quality issue? That many of them keep sending back the car to SC for repair? May I know how is your overall experience in cx5, be it 2018 or 2019? Does it really have so much qc /minor part issue?
*
From FB,whatsapp groups, seems like most complaints on quality are from owners who ordered their CX-5 from the free-GST period onward.
Maybe because the Kulim plant cannot cope with the demand and the QC standards drop or simply because more units, more complaints?

I got mine before CNY 2018 and so far I'm quite pleased with my 2.2D, but I also encountered these issues:
1. Lower arm bush - replaced under warranty during 30k servicing
2. Intermittent rattling sound from dashboard
3. Left rear view couldn't close or open properly. Intermittent too

Is this a common issue in cx5? I recently noticed clunking noises coming from the front suspension when going over bumps. Milage just 18k. Will report to sc during 20k service. Haish..

Btw, for diesel euro5, anyone using petron?
*
It's a well known issue by the SA at the SC and can happened after a few weeks of delivery or tens of thousands km later.
It is covered under warranty and the repair time normally take less than 3-4 hours, depending on the SC

How's your finding on Petron Euro5 so far?
I normally refuel with Petronas to take advantage of CC cashback

I see. I need to inform them earlier regarding the problem right? This is my first experience with mazda.

I prefer Petron rather than BHP. I noticed with Petron, the typical diesel fume much lesser as i compared few times. Power wise also i think its better, but these could be subjective. Petronas i dont have much experience as i only used it twice i think when i went back to hometown at east coast.
*
If you have the time, can make appointment with SC to check on the clunking noises or you can just inform them of the problem when you send your car for 20k servicing.
If they confirmed it is lower arm bush, they will check if they have spares to slot-in your car for repair slot, else they will schedule for a new date once the have the parts.

Not really useful coz Bermaz never installed rubber netting there

Hi

The SA told me if want Android auto or apple

Need wait September and topup RM1400

Is that true?? I Google around and saw after firmware update to 70.x from 59.x then available d
*
Current Mazda cars with MZD can retrofit the CP/AA module at SC for RM1.4k or do outside for around RM1k.
If the MZD firmware is still ver 59.x, can ask SC to update the fw to ver 70.x
No need to wait till September
