Question here, did you guys experience that before? People thinking we highbeam them or something.
I dont blame that Wira guy actually, Is our headlights too bright for them?
*
Happened to me a few times already
Even my missus friends who we went out for dinner on a few occasions using different cars also thought our headlight was on highbeam.

I also find that the LED headlamp on my 2.2D is not that bright enough as to me the beam are angled quite high above the ground, instead of pointing downward to the ground

I thought the ALH on your 2.2D can help to minimize the brightness?

Plus our car height is higher than the sedans, I bet they will get triggered easily..
*
The ALH will auto adjust the brightness and beam when it detects incoming traffic, etc.
Pity there's no knob on the dashboard to adjust the up and down tilt of beam like some cars

However, I am still very confused on how the whole thing works after reading the manual. For e.g. does ALH work by just switching the light to "auto" or must I switch to "auto" then push the stick to high beam so that the "highbeam indicator with the A" comes out on the meter display. I see from Youtube, ppls ALH can see the LEDs come on and off but cannot see on mine... confused.gif
*
Set your light to Auto, and push the light lever towards the meter, i.e. away from you.
You will see that the "A" indicator lights up.

When you drive at night, depending on the road lighting condition, the Auto high beam will switch on or off automatically (the blue symbol).
If you turn on the high beam mode manually, the ALH will not work.

Does it answer your question? innocent.gif

Thanks bro Widget.

So does that mean that in order for ALH to work, the lever needs to be pushed away from me? I thought that was only for HBC? Coz in the manual it states that to activate HBC, the light has to be set to auto and the lever pushed away from you. But it does not say how for ALH. So does that mean that by activating HBC, it also activates the ALH?  icon_question.gif

Then there is also a setting on MZD for ALH... rclxub.gif
*
I stands corrected.
I think you are right biggrin.gif
I confused myself the HBC with ALH.

But I do notice when the ALH functions when approaching incoming traffic as the beam hitting the right side tends to be dimmer than the left side and back to equal brightness when no incoming traffic

Ok. Thanks,  didn't know sc can update for us. rclxms.gif
*
For map update, you can download and install Mazda Toolbox.
Insert the SD card when prompted by Mazda Toolbox and it will let you know of any update

Mazda Toolbox
You also need to have Mazda Toolbox install if you want to purchase the yearly subscriptions of the real time map information (after the free 3-months trial)

You can ask the SC to update the map too but some SAs are just plain lazy or clueless doh.gif

For MZD firmware upgrade, only SC can do the update for you, but you have to inform them when you send your car else some SCs don't bother to check the car MZD fw version.

Hi bro,
what you mean by "real time map information", our build in GPS & SD card only valid for 3 months? is not permanent?  blink.gif
*
Real-time refers to live traffic update, weather reports on your destination, etc.
The built-in GPS is permanent but the live traffic update, etc is only free for the first 3 months from the day you connect your MZD navigation to wifi update.

After the 3 months expired, you can always use the car navigation, just that you won't be able to connect to live update.

thank you  biggrin.gif

honest speaking, our WAZE is 10 times better than the MZD navigation system, i tried it (MZD) 1 time when i collected my car, never open after that...by the way, i feel lag with the MZD navigation system...i think our MZD system spec is not that great...
*
Indeed.
I've compared the life traffic on MZD navigation against Waze for the same journeys a few times during the 3-months free period and the MZD life traffic is totally and utterly hopeless.
Waze and Google Maps are many times better.
Totally not worth the money for the yearly subscription fees considering that Waze and Google Maps are free

My 2.2D battery warning and iStop already blinking this morning.
Tell tale sign the stock battery is going to kaput soon.
Mileage is reaching 38k after 1 yr 2 moths usage.

Called Bermaz SC and was quoted RM658 + Rm35 labour for 2.2D iStop battery, as 2.2D use T110 battery, whereas petrol iStop use Q85 which is slightly cheaper.
For petrol Q85, can get from RM4xx-5xx whereas for diesel T110 price is from RM600 onwards

Normally for previous manufacturing year car the different should be more than 10k right?

Was told coating done 2.8k, so total difference only 4.8k
*
Depends on model and manufacturer too.
For hot selling models, hard to get good discount, especially now only the 1st half of 2019.

Oh, Christmas comes early on you.

Mine still few months left to go, not full 1 year yet.. *touchwood*

We cannot change battery outside from Bermaz SC right?  hmm.gif
*
Battery warranty is 1 year or 20k km, whichever comes first
Can change outside, but was told that if do outside without the ECU reset, some error warnings will still appear after the battery replacement.

Try this. Our ori battery is not dry-cell.

Go battery shop n add water, your battery can spare for few more mths.

Its proven, but not widely spread, only spread among the shark cx-5 group.
*
Good to know that.
Silly me coz never check the water level in the stock battery bangwall.gif

High chance it'll cost more. Cuz warranty should remain intact.

Most probably coz after-market 360 camera for CX-5 already priced at Rm2.6k with installation

What's the significance of 225/65r17 and 225/55r19? Will the r19 be more bumpy?
*
Price? tongue.gif
As the above reply, r19 will give you firmer ride as less sidewall.
Another is petrol consumption as theoretically, r19 will use more FC compared to cars using r17

Thanks guys for your kind inputs as well, Congrats Duckies long overdue for a better page in lyn. My car lies at home most of the time but recently I have been using it quite frequently. Can't take the skytint anymore, any suggestions? I'm sure its discussed many times but i'l like to ask the new owners as prices vary time to location.
*
Depends on your budget and whetehr you want to re-tint the whole car or only for front windscreen.
If just front ws, good brand will cost you around Rm8xx to 1k.

The stock security Skytint for the side windows are still decent and some members just stick additional lawyer to darken the tint or just use Ninja or Samurai shades for the sides

Bermaz SC is like that.
If to troubleshoot or to detect problems, they ask to make appointment for weekdays bangwall.gif

Hi guys
in dilemma between 2.2D AWD/FWD  or 2.0GLS.

what u guys think after own it more than 6 months?

current offer free 5 year service. i wonder battery include under free service or not...
*
Test drive both and see which one suits your need the most.
If mostly city drive, some people say 2.0 is good enough already but for me, coming from 2.0L SUVs before (2011 Sportage GT and 2014 CRV, both AWD though), the 2.0 NA engine does feels lethargic moving the heavy SUV body, hence I went for the 2.2D Fwd.

Been driving the 2.2D since Feb 2018 with mileage already 38k, and the only issue is the famous "ngek ngek" sounds coming from the lower arm bush which was replaced FOC under warranty.
If you have no problem finding Euro 5 at your place, go for the 2.2D

As for battery warranty, stock battery is 12 months or 20k km, whichever comes first.
iStop petrol requires Q85 battery, which can be had from Rm380 to 550, which warranty ranging from 12 to 24 months whereas 2.2D requires T110 battery, which cost from Rm600 to 690 (at SC), which warranty only from 6 to 12 months since some distributors consider diesel battery as commercial battery, hence the short warranty period

sorry i am not mazda owner... need ask

is this a new cx5? any new version or facelift coming out?
worth getting this current one?
*
Whether worth or not, only you can decide.
You also need to asses your need whether you require the 2.0, 2.5 or 2.2D?
Or maybe you can wait for the 2.5T which I read from some SAs comments in FB that it would be launched this year.
The 2.2D AWD will also be axed and the AWD will only be available on the 2.5T.

If you're not in a hurry, just wait because I read SAs comments that the new release will come with new digital speedometer, 360 camera.

Also does anyone think that the CX-5 looks a little odd shaped with the bubble back and long nose proportion wise?
*
The long nose is to differentiate the CX-5 over the other wannabe SUVs biggrin.gif
The bubble back is not as pronounce over the CX-30 as from the press photos, the CX-30 looks like it has been rear-ended very hard tongue.gif

On a serious note, the long proportion of the engine bay and the bubble back are the reasons why the passenger and cargo space are lacking if compared to CR-V, Tiguan even though they are about the same length or so.

Woh, 38k km, already change new tyre or still using the stock tyre?
*
Still using stock Toyo tyre.
The thread wear indicators are still good, so I reckon the tyre can last maybe another 10k or 20k km.
I made it a habit of doing cross-rotation, alignment and balancing every 10k km and no hard barking unless necessary to prolong the lifespan.

I also install cheap TPMS from Lazada to ensure that the tyre cold inflation pressure is at least 250 kPa as recommended
