Bro skeith, i am interested in the icam x9 that i often see from JL but will it coz problems - warranty wise?
How about those pedal locks like locktech? I heard they tap into the ignition system to disable engine start when locked. Will this also cause error logs in the ECU?
*
Warranty-wise, if you power you dashcam from cigarette socket, you can always unplug it if you want to claim warranty.
But if you power the dashcam by tapping the power from fusebox, then the SC can always find reasons to void your warranty.

As for pedal locks, don't bother to tap into the ignition system.
Some of the installers also suggest to users they won't connect the pedal lock to the ignition.

Wow, unbelievable.......
I'm sure this will encourage people to do it outside. Make sure use/buy same bolt/ring back

They need drop pan? I thought it's just drain & refill.
*
In some Bermaz SC, like their Glenmarie HQ, they won't even entertain your request to change ATF oil, even if you offer to pay for labour and cost.
I did ask this question when I did my 30k servicing before CNY.
They did mention that if they find that the customers change the ATF oil outside, they won't entertain any claim on the gearbox should any problem occurs during the warranty period. doh.gif

QUOTE(kskoay @ Apr 4 2019, 09:54 AM)
If not mistaken, even without switching to "Auto", once you start your engine and gear level to D, the DRL will turn on automatically  smile.gif
*
Indeed it is.
Once the gear lever is switch to D, the DRL will turn-on automatically.
It will not light up if the engine is on but the gear position is in P or N.

Very good if you are spying on other people at car park at night tongue.gif

Words of advise though, if you plan to install after-market DRL cum signal light indicator, this DRL will light-up automatically after the engine is started, so will lose the stealth ability at night blush.gif

Anyone here installed paddle shift. Any effect on warranty?
*
I did.

Warranty is a tricky part, as SC especially Bermaz will take photo and note down the mods done to your car when you send for servicing.
Whether they will entertain any claim will depend on them so if you're worried on your warranty, just keep your car lock, stock and barrel for the next 5 years

So install at your own risk

Wow...must be more fun to drive.
How much did u pay for it.
Yeah agree on d waaranty which is on mercy of sc
*
It's fun to drive, especially driving up to Genting or when overtaking.
But as I'm driving 2.2D which is quite torquey, I don't really use the paddle shift that much.

Cost me about RM550 including installation at Jack's place

Haven't gone for that Genting run.. Still waiting for all the reno/construction to be over.. Then have excuse. But yeah, overtaking is fun..
*
Honestly bro, I don't really think the 2.2D needs paddle shifter as the torque available is quite sufficient
It's a nice thing to have, mainly to play with it biggrin.gif , but maybe more beneficial to the petrol version

Battery not under warranty right?

After battery kong, we should go buy our own battery right?  hmm.gif
*
Stock battery that comes with the car has 1 year or 20k km warranty, WHICHEVER comes first.
After that, once you buy your own batteries, some come with 12 mth, 18 mth, 30k km, and so forth.

My 2.2D already 14 months old and mileage already 36k km.
Battery life is still good as my daily drive easily clock 80-90 km on DUKE and NKVE

As the post in FB, you can enable it using Forscan and laptop.
If you're not comfortable playing around with the code, you can pay some members to do if for you

honest speaking, i dont mind to pay the money, but i also need to know how to turn off those features incase need to send the car for warranty purpose....
*
I believed you will need the Forscan device and knows the correct code to turn-off the features,
Else can always pay the same guy to turn off the features before sending the car to SC

then it will not worth it....imagine
1.) pay money to turn on...
2.) need to visit SC because of warranty claim, pay money to turn off.
3.) after claimed with SC, pay money again to turn on?

above is only consider 1 time SC waranty claim...if so bad luck need to visit few times for warranty claim within 5 years, then it will cost a boom  blush.gif
*
Can invest on the Forscan USB-OBD cable, which you can get for RM40-50 from Lazada, etc.
The codes are readily available in Mazda forum, but proceed at your own risk only if you know what you are doing biggrin.gif

Whether worth it or not, it is up for the owners to decide.
We are just sharing what can be done to our ride, but end of the day it is your car and your money

LOL  biggrin.gif , but we do have eco mode for air-con, i dont know what is the different between on & off... hmm.gif

any thought?
*
If the temperature outside is the same or lower than your pre-set aircond temp, on Eco mode the aircond will channel the outside air into the cabin.
Encountered this a few times especially when driving in Genting, Cameron, in cold night or when it rains as I normally set the aircond at 23c

This SC is under Bermaz. They said not enuf manpower
Only 2 service bays mainly for servicing...if major complaints they will refer to other sc

Yeah, they had nasi lemak and drink. Before I could finish my drink, they called me to say car is ready biggrin.gif
My nissan last time took averagely 2 hours....mainly becos of d free wash long queue
*
20 minutes is very fast biggrin.gif
I always send mine to Bermaz Glenamrie as near to my workplace.
Normal servicing there normally take 3-4 hours, and longer if opt for the free wash. bangwall.gif
