Do test it out with the smart tag. It does reduce the sensitivity for my condo's access card sweat.gif

Will do.. Condo access card issue is a non-issue for me. Cuz my condo so cheapskate, implement wireless tapping but the old school kind where we still have to bring down the window and wave the card in front of the sensor.. Issh. smile.gif

Only you can decide if it's worth it.. Pocket okay and feels better? Sure, go ahead. My advice first is to use stock and if die die can't tahan, then swap with Trapo. Your comfort is priority. Just make sure it doesn't hinder brake pressing or overly encourage the throttle. Got people get into accidents cuz of improper mats. Stock mats are held down and won't suddenly budge, there's hooks and all.
Oh I see.. How long have you been using it? Could be it needs sometime to release all those nasties then it'll be alright? I've had a leather steering wheel cover do the same. Took about a month or so for that strong pseudo leather smell to leave it.. Then all good. Of course, not healthy..

im using trapo on my current car also. have to make sure the cutting is cun. if not might slide around. i bought the universal type and cut to my own liking but sometimes if the position is off, will hinder accelerator pedal abit. i think if buy the precut kind will be better.

for my boot tray, been using it for >5 years. still there's abit of a lingering plastic smell on hot days. but no boot tray, i guess there are many other plastics parts in the car also. although quality maybe better than boot tray plastics lah.

Yup, the shades work fine for me..

Touchscreen disabled even while parked? Will confirm later. I rarely use the touchscreen cuz finger oils leaving print marks. Much prefer to use the rotary knob even while parked. Grown used to it and muscle memory kicks in. Speaking of the touchscreen, anyone found decent cheap tempered glass that fits perfectly? Need one, so I don't scratch the glass. Matte or scratches resistant glass material even better.

Using stock mats. It's pretty good and comfortable. Previously I was using those cargo type mat and it was not comfortable.
So far it's all good and nice. I roll down my window to use touch and go so no issue there but it does reduce the infra red sensitivity since it's 2 layers. My condo's access card is a bit hard to get detected now. Heat reduce is way a lot better than previously. Definitely can pass JPJ as the VLT is 70%.
No such issue..I connect my phone via bluetooth and I pick my songs from the screen. The only condition you can't use the screen is when the car is moving.

is that so? maybe i should re-read the manual again sigh.

I do and in fact I just got bang recently at the back. Driver behind paid for all the fixes. Sigh just got the car for 1 month and already got accident.

If like that, side also need dash cam already sweat.gif Front dash cam should be sufficient but if you are paranoid you can put behind also. Those good front and back dash cam will cost a lot. So far I only know 1 model which is cheaper and good quality but it's made in China sweat.gif

Yup.. Professionally cut to fit the car is best. Guess it's a no no for the rubber cargo tray for me as yet. I like the stock one.. So no biggie.

Tested and can confirm that touchscreen works with Bluetooth phone connected.. Works either parked while in D at traffic light or in P mode... What's your FW version?

Gorrila glass or not.. Seems like you never seen those guys at the fast roadside/petrol station car washes work and or the cloths they use to wipe.. laugh.gif Since got mine, been washing and cleaning myself. Decided one day I was too tired and took to one of the best cheap washes I know. Owner's a pal and known each other for at least 5 years and they've been the one washing all other cars. Despite the special treatment I usually get, Boss made sure his boys washed and wiped the car the proper way..top to bottom.. and gently.. Still, I couldn't bear to it. Won't be going back there for awhile. If I do, it'll probably be with my own set of wash & microfiber cloths.. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Having a back dashcam is good to show the history that happens behind the car. Good to show road rage driver causing drama behind before coming in front. More rope for hanging..

I think the reliable 2 channel dashcam & on the cheaper side would be the Yi Mirror Dashcam. Price around RM300+

It got front & back cam, non-intrusive, intuitive & sensitive touchscreen & the cam quality is quite good. The only downside is that it does not use super capacitor battery.

Other reliable 2 channel dash cam would cost at least RM700 & above.

You can enquire official Yi Malaysia facebook or website & then they will provide you the details for the dealer nearest to your place

Ya that is true, the mirror will be replace with a touch sensitive mirror that also acts as a screen for the dash cam.

But thats okay for me & the dash camera is less intrusive.

That's a huge downside, cuz such batteries kept in cars is a huge no no for our weather. Capacitor ftw. I also like the auto-dimming feature on the CX-5's mirror and besides, after clipping this on, does the lens see around the radar/sensors bulk thingy?

Previously done a bit of research and the Blueskysea Mini 0906 takes my vote for an affordable and decent dual-dashcam with super capacitor. It's either that or one from Viofo definitely.

Yea, what I wanted to say bro voncrane already pointed it out. I like the auto-dimming feature on the front mirror so no touching that. Yi Mirror Dashcam is using battery instead of capacitor. Under our hot weather, battery will get bloated easily although my old Yi Dashcam is working fine for the past 2 years since I don't usually park under the sun for long time. Moving forward, I'll switch to capacitor dashcam.

I would recommend Blueskysea Mini 0906 for dual dasham or Viofo A119 v2 for front dashcam. Probably will go for the latter one.

Each to their own, there is no replacement to displacement henceforth 2.5 was a more valid choice in my case, after all we pay road tax once a year and additional RM400 too much of a pinch comparative to 2.0. Fuel consumption has been fair so far a full tank gives me approx 580km mostly highways and not many stop and go traffic.

Price is not far off the 2.2D I agree but I am looking forward for ease of use when refiling the tank and I already have a pickup, ease of engine maintenance is a priority. Avoiding another diesel vehicle was a need for me. Otherwise after owning the car for a few months now, I don't miss LAS, LDWS, DAA and what not. BSM is just nice.

On tap I have sufficient power especially on hilly roads, Loving every second driving it and that's what matters
*
Agreed. A happy owner of 2.5GLS. Not into turbo tbh as my past experience with one kinda takes away the fun of going thru the revs as with an NA.

Yes, it's an SUV but hey, if it's JUST an SUV, we won't be buying a CX-5 would we? For that price, you'd get a bigger spaced CR-V though agility of the CX-5 is quite surprising IMHO. It's also my first SUV.

Well you can set 2 x Yi Dashcam for front and back. Just need to do a bit of wiring. I previously use Yi Dashcam too and it's pretty good. Budget price as well thumbup.gif
