Just done booking for 2.0 High model. Any reviews from current owners about the car overall performance? smile.gif

Bro in law just bought it 3 months ago, red 2.0 high line. If u have extra budget to play with, suggest a ppf front area, and coating the rest car. Not sure if all latest car paint really thin nowadays, but it easy to get rock chipping nowadays.
Other than that, can consider double tint with better tint as ori skytint (especially the front windscreen) does not block heat that much. He done with 3M Crystalline front and rest as double tint

cry.gif so expensive..

There is also a cheaper variance for ppf, can survey more. Just make sure it use TPU based materials and if possible take some with a proper brand.

thank you...noted on this. just googled on Puchong, Max Sticker Supply seems like a mixed review though shocking.gif

One of my buddies done ppf for his Forester at masterworks car sticker, Puchong as well. He paid less or around 2k for full front area, but only 1 year yellowish covered, brand Oraguard.
So far almost 3 years still look as new. Not sure if it will yellowish in future.

My 2.5T consumed half liter of engine oil after 5k km. Mileage now is 11000km, last serviced 4 months ago at 6000km and the oil level was at the Max mark after service, now it's touching the Low mark.

Its quite minor I know and wouldn't cause any issue even if it dropped to Low if I wait until next oil change service in 2 months, but I topped up half a liter anyway, just to have some peace of mind.

Anyone else's 2.5T has oil consumption issue?
*
If it me I rather send to sc and have a check. To lost half liters for low distance, 5k km and relatively low mileage car is not normal

Are you driving 2.5T as well?

Its quite normal for some conti cars to lose some oil after few thousand kms. I'm not worried since I drive with a seriously heavy lead foot and this is a turbo. LOL.

Just not too sure if the Petronas synthetic oils they used are up to par for the demands of the engine.
*
It is famous with Audi car 1.8T and 2.0T for eating oil which related to the piston ring design/flaw or whatever. But the problem only happens or mostly happen at relatively high mileage, 50k-70k km onwards. Iinm they had new piston ring design to reduce the problem.

For yours at 5k km already had this, its better to have a visit at SC. Obviously Mazda already test extensively for what Engine Oil recommended for their engine, in this case a Petronas Synthetic as b4 with Shell Helix Ultra. So I dont think its due to certain Engine Oil not capable to withstand engine power/heat etc. Even Mercedes SC opted for Petronas FS as their EO for majority of their model

Hi folks,

Just chiming in. Got the wife her new Deep Crystal blue 2.0 high on Monday and she really loves it. Looking to see what advice I can learn from you all.
*
Ppf and coating if have budget. Nowadays too easy to get stone chip out of current car, maybe factory paint getting thin nowadays?

I would think twise when it comes to diesel. It's a great engine...but our local gov seems to be pushing palm oil ....modern cars use euro 5....but tolerance of 5 percent ie b5. Higher content of palm oil will cause gelling and other issues.
That's why not many models offered diesel here. I drive a diesel...but lucky my engine is euro 2 and euro 5 compliant..but will run into the same issue if they push higher content of palm oil into the mixture
*
From the internet it was shown majority of car manufacture not agreed with conversation to biodiesel. Hence they cant even give warranty their car line up able to take it without problems. Maybe that reason it take longer time for implementation here.

Collected my car and looking to tint and ppf. Doing some survey over the price. For tint is it okey to go with 3M Crystaline for the windscreen(to remove existing one) and rest of the windows to add one more layer of 3M ebony? thickness would be 2mil  icon_question.gif  hmm.gif

ppf any suggestion on the brand? so far surveyed around for the front part received quotation 2.5 k
*
Thats ok for double tint for rest window. Only front windscreen need to remove and install new tint. .
Ppf just take front area ok ady. For brand, need to survey around following ur budget, make sure it is TPU based and some expansive ppf had self healing properties

Skytint is crap. I tried to replace only the windscreen tint and add dark 95% tint to rear passenger windows only. Still can feel the heat. And it looks ugly with the blue tinted drivers window not matching with the black tint at the back. I went back to my installer and removed Skytint and fixed new premium dark tint films on rear windscreen and side windows, it totally transformed the experience. Because I didn't take the package deal and went back to replace the windows separately, it costs me more. Total damage with the Skytint that we throw away, about 5k? Should've listened to installer's advice to replace Skytint in the first place. LOL.

I then replaced my older car's VKool which was not even cool, with Raytech as well. Now it is freezing cold inside even under the sun in 38 degree C heat.
*
Suprise to hear u get good reviews with Raytech vs Vkool. As the other thread of car tint all did not have good reviews with Raytech even with their highest spec tint.

But agree that skytint is not work great on our hot weather

The side and rear are ok with 97% IRR. But what the hell bermaz choose 55% IRR for windscreen on our weather.

I guess they want to be JPJ compliance for the front windscreen @ 70% VLT. I believe the original front windscreen (FWS) carries certain level of VLT. Therefore 85% VLT from the RT85 film + the FWS = 70% VLT.

If they could put the driver side window films @ 70% VLT which carries higher TSER (which may result in lower VLT and not conforming to JPJ rules), the result wouldn't be so bad. Anyway, it is still consider bright for some drivers. So it is very subjective.
*
There are plenty of brand with 70% vlt but yet give 90-97% IRR.

No, i put it myself, not cutting any hole. And use the roadtax holder to hold the rfid tag.

But i have to let you know that rfid is for my housing barrier. I not sure the rfid for toll (touch n go ewalllet) will works or not.
*
Ok. I ask last time the touch & go rfid installer, they will cut square to install the rfid card. Not agree hence using back my smart tag. Previously with outside rfid, but after windscreen replacement, need to install back.

I was using Hamel Royale before I replaced my windscreen and when the RFID installer tried placing the RFID on my windscreen, they couldn't get any reading, maybe due to the material used for Hamel.

Mind you, this was during the early adopter/guinea pig of RFID, so maybe the RFID they used back then was not as efficient as the current generation, hence the reason they could only stick on the headlamp.
When passing through those dedicated RFID lane, I had to drive below 15 km/h, and in some cases, like the RFID lane at toll Gombak, I had to stop very close to the boom gate before it can detect the RFID.
Like what you said, the design of CX-5 headlamp, with it very upright angle is not the best place for RFID placement.

On SmartTag, using Hamel Royale or V-Kool 40, I do have to slow down as well, maybe between 20-30 km/h, but not as slow as the RFID
*
The reason it struggle to use smart tag with V-Kool, Hamel is due to the Infrared rejection value of 97% above. As smart tag signal purely using infrared.

Based on my experience, the 95% irr is the maximum it can use for smart tag, albeit still need to slow down but not until almost stop.

Wife couldn’t start the car last Tuesday morning after last drive on Saturday night. Called Bermaz to assist. Glenmarie sent 2 technicians with new battery within 1 hour. They measured the old GS battery, output only 12V. They brought and installed new battery from Delkor.

Technicians said to send to SC immediately to check the alternator. I then brought da car to Federal Highway SC. After checking alternator is OK. Seems like a random case of a lemon battery. My SA did say could be from the DC, asked me to bring to GS to have it checked out if got time.

Strange the battery can KO so fast. Car is end Nov 2020 only 1600kms. Anybody know is there a limit on claim for new battery during warranty period?
*
Generally 1 year, 20k km. Need to check with mazda.

Last time when SC gives us Shell semi synthetic, I know some members mention it wont last till 10k mileage and you fill car is not that responsive etc but how about current one?
*
By right there is. But very minor. Iinm nowadays all with Petronas syntium fully synthetic

*
Fc is purely depending on driving factor. For responsive, my other car with sc 0w20 engine oil, it good from first mileage after service towards 5k km only then feel slightly sluggish on response. But I'll keep follow sc which change the eo every 10k km

hi guys, just wondering do u guys compare the cx5 to X50 and X70?

i know the X50 is in B-segment hence not really fair to compare. But what about X70?

X70 has Nappa leather seats, better 360 camera resolution and function, sunroof, has cruise control, voice command, more speakers etc and cheaper by almost 30k

Not saying cx5 is a bad car just for wondering  biggrin.gif
*
I had a x70 ckd premium x while my bro take cx5 2.0 high line. For me the cx5 interior black-ish is just a simple if u are coming from a Japanese car. I love different colours of interior, in this case of brown nappa leather. Jump in my friend cbu merz c-class with red nappa leather last time make me decided that I will not get a black looking interior after this.
