My 2.5T consumed half liter of engine oil after 5k km. Mileage now is 11000km, last serviced 4 months ago at 6000km and the oil level was at the Max mark after service, now it's touching the Low mark.

Its quite minor I know and wouldn't cause any issue even if it dropped to Low if I wait until next oil change service in 2 months, but I topped up half a liter anyway, just to have some peace of mind.

Anyone else's 2.5T has oil consumption issue?

Are you driving 2.5T as well?

Its quite normal for some conti cars to lose some oil after few thousand kms. I'm not worried since I drive with a seriously heavy lead foot and this is a turbo. LOL.

Just not too sure if the Petronas synthetic oils they used are up to par for the demands of the engine.

Just chiming in. Got the wife her new Deep Crystal blue 2.0 high on Monday and she really loves it. Looking to see what advice I can learn from you all.

I would think twise when it comes to diesel. It's a great engine...but our local gov seems to be pushing palm oil ....modern cars use euro 5....but tolerance of 5 percent ie b5. Higher content of palm oil will cause gelling and other issues.
That's why not many models offered diesel here. I drive a diesel...but lucky my engine is euro 2 and euro 5 compliant..but will run into the same issue if they push higher content of palm oil into the mixture

Collected my car and looking to tint and ppf. Doing some survey over the price. For tint is it okey to go with 3M Crystaline for the windscreen(to remove existing one) and rest of the windows to add one more layer of 3M ebony? thickness would be 2mil   

ppf any suggestion on the brand? so far surveyed around for the front part received quotation 2.5 k

bro do u straight go for ppf and coating after getting the car? any recommended workshop for this?

Skytint is crap. I tried to replace only the windscreen tint and add dark 95% tint to rear passenger windows only. Still can feel the heat. And it looks ugly with the blue tinted drivers window not matching with the black tint at the back. I went back to my installer and removed Skytint and fixed new premium dark tint films on rear windscreen and side windows, it totally transformed the experience. Because I didn't take the package deal and went back to replace the windows separately, it costs me more. Total damage with the Skytint that we throw away, about 5k? Should've listened to installer's advice to replace Skytint in the first place. LOL.

I then replaced my older car's VKool which was not even cool, with Raytech as well. Now it is freezing cold inside even under the sun in 38 degree C heat.

I guess they want to be JPJ compliance for the front windscreen @ 70% VLT. I believe the original front windscreen (FWS) carries certain level of VLT. Therefore 85% VLT from the RT85 film + the FWS = 70% VLT.

If they could put the driver side window films @ 70% VLT which carries higher TSER (which may result in lower VLT and not conforming to JPJ rules), the result wouldn't be so bad. Anyway, it is still consider bright for some drivers. So it is very subjective.

My housing area's RFID tag is placed inside my windscreen (3M). no problem
But my brother's car using Vkool, his RFID cant detected, had to put outside windscreen only can pass.

No, i put it myself, not cutting any hole. And use the roadtax holder to hold the rfid tag.

But i have to let you know that rfid is for my housing barrier. I not sure the rfid for toll (touch n go ewalllet) will works or not.

I was using Hamel Royale before I replaced my windscreen and when the RFID installer tried placing the RFID on my windscreen, they couldn't get any reading, maybe due to the material used for Hamel.

Mind you, this was during the early adopter/guinea pig of RFID, so maybe the RFID they used back then was not as efficient as the current generation, hence the reason they could only stick on the headlamp.
When passing through those dedicated RFID lane, I had to drive below 15 km/h, and in some cases, like the RFID lane at toll Gombak, I had to stop very close to the boom gate before it can detect the RFID.
Like what you said, the design of CX-5 headlamp, with it very upright angle is not the best place for RFID placement.

On SmartTag, using Hamel Royale or V-Kool 40, I do have to slow down as well, maybe between 20-30 km/h, but not as slow as the RFID

Wife couldn’t start the car last Tuesday morning after last drive on Saturday night. Called Bermaz to assist. Glenmarie sent 2 technicians with new battery within 1 hour. They measured the old GS battery, output only 12V. They brought and installed new battery from Delkor.

Technicians said to send to SC immediately to check the alternator. I then brought da car to Federal Highway SC. After checking alternator is OK. Seems like a random case of a lemon battery. My SA did say could be from the DC, asked me to bring to GS to have it checked out if got time.

Strange the battery can KO so fast. Car is end Nov 2020 only 1600kms. Anybody know is there a limit on claim for new battery during warranty period?

Last time when SC gives us Shell semi synthetic, I know some members mention it wont last till 10k mileage and you fill car is not that responsive etc but how about current one?

I did my service in nov and just clock less then 3k. Feel not as responsive and FC higher. Maybe use to the power aldy and just wanted morrrrrrr

hi guys, just wondering do u guys compare the cx5 to X50 and X70?

i know the X50 is in B-segment hence not really fair to compare. But what about X70?

X70 has Nappa leather seats, better 360 camera resolution and function, sunroof, has cruise control, voice command, more speakers etc and cheaper by almost 30k

Not saying cx5 is a bad car just for wondering
