Any idea how much to repaint the whole car ? i drive on highways often, maybe repaint after a few years. DCB color.

Necessary or not is up to you. PPF should be able to prevent stone chips and dents. If you are the type of people that are very particular about stone chips and dents then you can go for it.

Alternatively can opt for repaint 3-5 years down the road which should cost around the same.

I can say we are doomed no matter what. Stone chip on highway is almost unavoidable. The best way is to choose a car color that's not obvious to stone chip.

Sifus, I’m going for my 6-months service appointment soon and upon booking the session  on Mazda web I came across two paid services offered - sky fresh & tyre rotation, balancing and alignment. Has any of you opt for these paid recommended services and do you think such services especially the tyre rotation, balancing & alignment could be done better & cheaper (this one cost RM90++) outside?

Another question is, do you guys think it’s better to do tyre rotation and change all 4 or to rotate rear wheels to the front and change rear wheels for fresh set of tyres (2)? I’ve been using the latter methods before but I wanted to get your opinions on this matter. Thanks so much in advance 🙏🏻

Care to share what is the majority doing abt this gearbox oil change?  Proceed to change is better at 100,000km?

Mazda SC will entertain for a gearbox oil change - even if it's still under the warranty period (despite them claiming their oil is for "lifetime") but they usually will get the customers to sign a waiver letter that they will waive all warranty claims related to the gearbox after.

a 100,000km limited warranty is reasonably acceptable.

So if done around 50,000km mark, do we need to do it again at 100,000km mark (ie every 50,000 km)?

Im a little confused.  So the gearbox oil change is currently scheduled at 100,000km but its best to change it at around 50 or 60,000km mark - did I get it right?  And if so, it may or may not void the warranty period if done before 100,000km mark, correct?

If its under warranty until up to 100,000km why change in the first place cos Im assuming if anything happens before 100,000km it will be covered by Mazda.

Are you sure or not plenty of CX5 user gearbox KO after hit > 100k KM?

I still see many 1st gen CX5 on the road, those are like 7-8 years car, definitely mileage is above 100k KM..

Or are you just repeating hear/say from others?

My rear middle seat after folded down cannot be clip into the hook even i've push it to the same level with sides seats. Anyone have encounter this? Now my middle seat is in the folded condition like this😔

wait... I thought we're advised to use RON 97 petrol due to high compression engine, despite the recommended fuel to be RON95. any issue like knocking sound when using RON95 so far?

I think you read too much from the paper. Let me tell you this. My freind Ferrari only pump RON 87 all times. It still run till today after 7 years. No knocking and no joking. My other X5 also always pump 87. You people in Malaysia is so pampering your car. LoL.....is a car 🚗 🚙. Just treat it as a car. Engine knocking. 🤣😅😂

3 mths old owner here. I  wanna share my experience as well.

Upgrade from a B segment sedan to CX5 so the NVH for me is impressive and no need to mentioned on fun to drive.

1 wk after getting the car, rattling sounds(tiak,tiak,tiak) suspected fr dashboard or passenger door.  Easily occur on uneven road. address my concern during 1st time service, SC troubleshoot then said it is loosen part on passenger door, already tighten. 2 days after sounds again. call and complain, 2nd round send to SC, this time troubleshoot for 4 hrs. Said all parts that possible generate rattling sound already tighten. the rattling sound indeed disappear for weeks. but recently once a while comeback. Previously I can hear it daily on uneven road. Now so far 2x in a mth but what strange is that only appear few seconds then disappear. Previously the sound will not disappear.

Rattling sound or noise is the most annoying, specially for those that difficult to replicate. Dunno whether is due to CKD quality issue...

For those who think that Mazda is more premium than others Japanese car rival, my personal opinion is more or less the same unless it improve the quality on those issues.

But so far I satisfied the after sales service and the way they attend to my problems.

for those who feel annoying but could not do anything, it's time to upgrade your sound system with DSP+AMP & Sub, i never feel any vibration and sound then

I just keep reading the Facebook post comment after I posted here and found out at least 6 persons got this. Most of them just after the warranty. Now I'm really scared of the future if purchased.
