id say the philips offer the best bang for buck headphones around. i like their sound signature.

ive tried the HP250 (which i really like).

ive also tried the HP2700 which is not bad oso...

the SHP8900 would be the replacement of their higher end 895. i suggest u audition first and see if u like it.

_____________________________________________________________________

u could get a Grado SR60 for that budget. RM260 or sumthin like that. supra-aural though (sits ON the ear).

or u could check out the Audio Technica A500. around RM350 including shipping from Audiocubes.com. or u could try ask walabies and see if he carries that model. might be cheaper if he has.

A500 is circumaural right? So, between A500 and SR60, which is better? I mean from your point of view.

Err...hello....I'm sorry if this is not the place to ask this since i'm new but since this place is about headphones...............you see, i'm using an altec lansing studio headphone and is ripping my all my music with the maximum setting(highest quality).............everything sounds fine but when i play this song.....Evanescence-Bring Me to Life, the guitar seems like too distorted (in malay it is known as bunyi pecah) the same same goes with the background singers' voice..............this song is the only one with such problem so far my other music sounds nice even the low bitrate ones ..................any one have any idea whats happening or any suggestion? already tried using other formats such as AAC MPC ETC. but still problem persist. also tried ripping the music at lower bitrates....this solves the problem to a degree-the distortion becomes a little subtle-do not solve the problem.......tried also softening the volume.....none works......IS THIS WHAT WE GET WHEN A HEADPHONE HAVE A WIDE FREQUENCY RESPONSE? already tried disabling all plugins and equalizers dun work................I'm using foobar2000 and winamp btw...thank you

wanna ask about combo of amp.from my previous experience, the ksc 75 with ldm+ really really rock my ear,a nice combo.
So i want ask about tube amp like LD2+ n LD3,wat brand or type of headphone are good combo with them? From my experience, Phillips hp 1k n 890 sound not so WOW when pair with tube amp.
Senheisser are more to dark side right?and tube amp are more to bright side,so combo should be bright with bright or bright with dark to balance?
My budget under rm600/700

How would it sound like if you play it straight from the Cd? IMO if only that one song is creating the problem, something is not right with the song itself.

Plus, wide frequency response doesn't have anything to do with these I think.

Hello guy,

Please recommend me headphone and amp for my ear tongue.gif . Right now using AL MX5021 but in certain condition prefer to use headphone (do not want to disturb other).

So my max budget is RM500 include amp if can. Did not know need to buy amp or not. I prefer this headphone is on par and can delivery like my mighty MX5021 rclxm9.gif

P/S : Using Audigy 2ZS sound card

ms-1 and sr80 is more or less selling at the same price brand new if I ain't wrong. ms-1 if plug in straight to soundcard, you might need an amp.

@hitman: do you have a head-amp to pair your hp805 with?

thx for fast reply rclxms.gif ...:sweat:currently at NZ right now and someone offer MS-1 for NZD190 (around RM500) and when compared price with SR-80, SR-80 cost me NZD250 (around RM660) while SR-60 is about NZD170 (around RM448)

if seriously SR-80 > MS-1 > SR-60... i will go get MS-1 instead. SR-80 bloody xpensive and if MS-1 better than SR-60, i will go 4 MS-1.

anyone can help me decide again? thx notworthy.gif

MS-1 and Sr-80, not much different from what ppl say. Maybe the only noticeable different is the sr80 is slightly more bassy and trebly than ms-1.

Before you buy, what do you listen to usually?

Hm...seriously if you not planning to get an amp, you might as well get ksc75. MS-1 is easily drive loud, but they would sound a bit flat. Unamped the ksc-75 is nicer to my ears. Using the headphone out of the psp to drive ms-1 is just plain s*ck.
