personally, an upgrade of headphone instead would probably yield better results than adding an amp IMHO.

state ur budget, usage(movies, music, gaming) kind of music u listen to, source (PC, ipod, discman etc etc) to get good recommendations.
*
well then I just follow what pro recommand me.Dun want to menyesal kemudian hari flex.gif

I usually listen to music whatever i use my headphone(prefer using speaker for gaming and watching movie).I frequently listen to j-pop and some rock songs and yeah, the source will be my PC.

Anyway my friend recommand me to buy Grado SR60 and he can get me one of those soon. Can this headphone can satisfy me to the limit where I willing to spend Rm600 for another headphone next time? cool.gif

Wait I forgot to mention about the budget.Since my friend can get me that grado headphone for Rm320.So my budget will be around Rm320

Anyway since I dun have chance at all to go to KL for few months so I think it's better to take the ones from walabies. smile.gif

Gonna take the money as soon as possible and then give it to my friend so he can give to walabies rclxms.gif

Compared to my SHP805,no doubt that the bass is much tighter (assume that you applied the amp together. In this case I use pa2v2 amp) but I feel the sound is kinda "flat".Good thing is that it's more comfy then SHP805.So yeah I manage to spend a lot of time wearing this while burning in the phone without much difficulties smile.gif

But too bad I'm more on vocal so I sell the can 3 weeks after since I dun use it that much :<

well good recommandation you have there but I'm more to headphones. Now ordering Senn HD555 since I wanna try to listen to the sound signature that HD555 has.

(Head-fi members mostly suggest poeple to get HD595/HD580 instead. If only the price difference is not that high enough *sigh* )

Which of those headphones would you recommend ? I heard that the Audio Technica A900 is good for "amp-less" use. Others have also suggested the A700 ... are they really better than the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro? THis purchase will last me a few years, so hope that I wont make the wrong choice  tongue.gif

Most of the headphone model you stated are perfectly for gaming and also music.Movies not so sure coz basicly the A900 and A700 are not that bassy (unlike beyerdynamics DT770) but it's nice. icon_rolleyes.gif

The Beyerdynamic DT770/80 need to be amped to reach their "potential" right?
*
Yes especially the 250 ohm ones.Actually it's will be awesome of the can been driven by proper amp but that's not a case since you need an amp-less headphone.

If you're bit worried about spending alot of this well just buy A500 like madman do.Pretty good headphone at it's price.

no no for grado sr60 since he wanted to use it for gaming.Philips headphones can do better with those although sr60 is superior on music nod.gif
