im using RT-N66U worth to chage to this RT-AC86U ?
Lazada cheapest price RM491
Definitely worth it as you are upgrading from Wireless N to Wireless AC

By the way, where did you find RT-AC86U at RM491? I just did a quick search in Lazada, couldn't find any at that price blink.gif

ok, thanks for the  info.

will proceed to get 1 cooling fan from lazada.
RT-AC86U doesn't need cooling fan as it runs way cooler than RT-AC68U

hi anyone still using AC68U? what do u guys usually get for speedtest using WiFi 5Ghz ?
Last time I used RT-AC68U I was on UniFi 100Mb/s
I can get 100Mb/s just fine on 5GHz
Even some devices where their 2.4GHz WLAN receivers can support 150Mb/s & 300Mb/s I can still get 100Mb/s in SpeedTest
Although I do set the 2.4GHz channel bandwidth to 40MHz, not 20MHz
And I set the 5GHz channel bandwidth to 80MHz

Don't know how to buy from Taobao sweat.gif
That's just a lazy man's excuse
I'm Malay and I neither read nor speak Chinese but I can buy from Taobao easily without any guidance

Use Google Chrome. It's built-in translator makes it easy to buy from Taobao

Just curious to ask, do AC86 really need that 2 cooling fan? I am currently using AC68 while waiting my AC86, I have been always turn on that router for 24/7, no big issue so far
It does not
AC86U runs cooler than AC68U

Actually I am in the same boat...
How are you on the same boat?
1 guy refuses to buy from Taobao because he's worried about warranty and loss of items during shipping
And another guy refuses to buy from Toabao because he simply doesn't know how to buy from there

2 different scenario there buddy. Not only are you not in the same boat, you're not even in the same ocean sweat.gif

asus give me ac adaptor input 100-240v 1A 50-60hz output 19v 1.74A, this adaptor cannot turn on my router
That AC adaptor is correct but it's possible that the AC adaptor you received is faulty (yes, even if it's new)

You can buy this AC adaptor:
https://www.lazada.com.my/-i211532789-s265886000.html

Works perfectly on my RT-AC68U & RT-AC86U (Yes, I've used both models previously before switching to GT-AC5300)

China (default)
Go to a place where you can only see 2 out 3 bars (or 3 out 4 bars) on your handphone / tablet
Then change the region to Australia
Once the router finished rebooting, test the place where you you see the 2 out of 3 bars again

I've tested all the regions and found out Australia works best for me

I'm using Pocophone F1 & iPad Air 2. In the kitchen, they can only get 3 out of 4 bars before I change the region
After changing the region to Australia, I get full 4 bars in the kitchen
Also previously my Pocophone is showing the wireless speed of 390Mb/s in the kitchen. But after changing the region, it increases to 560Mb/s (Maximum for Pocophone F1 is 866Mb/s)

is there any special settings for unifi on ac86u?
QUOTE(coleman5951 @ Nov 26 2018, 11:06 PM)
tried setting it up but seems not connecting.
LAN > IPTV > Select ISP Profile > UniFi Home
Or if you don't use the HyppTV at all, just choose UniFi Business

**My screenshot might be a little bit different than yours because I'm using GT-AC5300

My Unifi is use FTTH
I'm out of ideas then
Try to flash the latest Merlin and check the temperatures

Also, try to change the ethernet cable connecting the BTU to router
