You want official warranty, buy from local supplier at a higher price

Restore to factory default> Flash Merlin > Restore to factory default again

Do you understand the concept of manufacturing fault?
A few units in the manufacturing batches may become faulty, this happens to all manufacturers

There is no way to produce a 100% perfect product for every single unit

It has nothing to do with cooling
Read through this topic and you will see that 2 out 3 users in here with a dead AC86U does use fans on their routers but their routers still end up dead

Again, it has nothing to do with cooling, it's a manufacturing fault. Read what I said earlier, there is no way to get 100% quality on every unit

Install Merlin firmware then you will be able to see the temperature of the router's CPU

I know that. My original point was that these failures are caused by manufacturing luck, some units even with adequate cooling still failed
It's manufacturing fault, some chips may have some defect which may cause these failures

Set the 5GHz to run at 80MHz then you will be able to get full 500Mb/s
I can get 600Mb/s on my Pocophone F1 + ASUS GT-AC5300 (UniFi Turbo 800Mb/s), iPhone 11 Max should be able to do better than Poco F1

1. Set the Wireless Mode to N/AC mixed
2. Set the Channel bandwidth to 80MHz

It will work out of the box
But not adviseable for a few reasons:
1. Warranty nightmare. ASUS Malaysia does not provide support for units bought from overseas. If you buy from China, you will have to send it back to China
2. Smaller WiFi coverage. China has set a limitation on their wireless signal to be weaker than Malaysia. This is not something that you can modify with the RT-AC86U. With the older version of RT-AC68U yes you can change the region but not on ASUS newer routers.
