My "so-called scientific" explanation on cramping is:
You've reached the limit of what your muscle can handle. Cramp could come at any mileage as it depends on the effort you put on the muscle rather than distance. You could get cramp at 20KM if you push beyond what your muscle can handle or you could do 100KM as long as you keep as zone 2.

How to overcome it?
Keep training and gradually increase the effort / resistance. The muscle will adjust itself and start to be able to cope with the effort put on it

Thats my own explanation on why do i suffer from cramp from time to time

hmm...so i need to increase my effort/cadence for my usual 54km ride for my muscle to adjust itself and cope with higher effort.

In my situation, yes. Gradually increasing the effort (while training) helps the situation whenever the need arises with less chance of cramping

I used to be the same as you, got the cramp for cycling above 50-60km.

I am doing is to train on trainer almost every single day for 30-60 mins per day. I follow zwift training plan and it gives tremendous result. I rode 130km and 160km without any issue after 2 weeks of training. Wanted to try 200km earlier this month but couldn't join the BRM due to last minute family matter.

Joining BRM300 for 330km next month. I have 2 weeks to train. Hopefully safely finish without any cramp or issue. I doubt myself to complete this but lets give it a try.

In term of trainings, if you are using strava, i found that stravatistix/elevate extension is very useful to gauge your fitness, form and fatigue. This is to optimize the output of your training so that you wont either under-trained (is that even a word?) or overload your body. You could download it here for Chrome extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/e...jcgicpckn?hl=en

If quads cramp, maybe not recruiting enough of the right muscles. Try going for bike fit.

Was offered used Specialized Axis Elite wheelset for Rm400. The previous owner is upgrading to high profile wheelset. I can't find much info regarding the wheelset except it's a "stock" wheelset for Specialized bike and it's sealed bearing.

So, is that a good offer? Or pro here got better suggestion?

Not sure to be honest, but still in good condition tho. Honestly I think my current wheelset is more beaten than that wheelset. Ah, damn it. I forgot to ask him...

As said, its' a stock wheelset come with the bike. Non comparable to after market brands. Can be used, but nothing to shout about its performance. dry.gif

Ah, the wheelset is sold. But... There's another same wheelset, never ridden since the owner immediately upgrade the wheelset. However, it's sold for Rm480 because it's "new" while the previous one used for 2-3 months. I'm currently planning to upgrade my current wheelset; Fir Net 97.

I just wondering if I just grab the deal or get a new Mavic Aksium, since it's within my budget.

Unless you are looking for an ostentatious upgrade as the performance improvement would most likely be insignificant and not even slightly perceptible by even the most sensitive butt.

Question:
Does recreational cycling clubs/teams charge a membership fee to join them?
ex: have to buy their team jersey, or join their team with a (monthly/ quarterly/ yearly) membership fee?
