QUOTE(chinti @ Nov 15 2018, 11:09 AM)
question - my quadriceps/front thigh always cramp after 50km+, how can i prevent this and wat is the cause of this?
i have tried staying hydrated, salt stick, but still same
*
The method to dealing with cramps for me usually is to eat a banana before riding, if its a long ride, maybe pack 1 more in your jersey. Eat it when you feel you need more energy.

Cramp usually is caused by low potassium or magnesium or electrolytes (maybe salt stick is too easy to digest and hilang?).Banana can help to prevent cramps, but once you cramp it does not help to relief it.

Question:
Does recreational cycling clubs/teams charge a membership fee to join them?
ex: have to buy their team jersey, or join their team with a (monthly/ quarterly/ yearly) membership fee?
*
Most of the cycling club are free. As long as you follow their ride rules, most of them will welcome you.

There are some local bicycle shops organizing free rides. You can join them and as support for them, buy lah 1-2 things you like from time to time.

There are also paid membership available worldwide. Rapha! Haha.

Usually only rides with support vehicles has fee to it. Normal weekly ride, be it from a cycling club or bicycle shop has no monetary cost to it except to be self sufficient and come prepared with extra tubes, pump and what not

I have never ridden with any support vehicles before, what do they usually do with a support vehicle? Help if there is a mechanical problem?

Ya i usually ride locally, and have to bring my own spare parts in case of a puncture.

Depends actually, the more support given, the more cost it will incurred and has to be shared with every riders. The kinds of support given are like

Support vehicle (could be a van, a car or pick up truck) to pick up cyclists who couldnt continue the ride (either injury, cramp, etc). The support vehicle as well carries drinks and foods in case if someone needs it urgently. The cost would be covering to fuel, food and drinks to be carried inside the vehicle, rental if necessary and payment for the driver.

My experience with support vehicle before when we were doing hell's loop / GAP loop / Fraser's loop. 210KM, started at 7 in the morning and finished by 7 in the evening. Each of us paid RM 40 (about 15 of us) to have a van to carry our stuffs when we ride and pick up any rider who couldnt continue the ride. Yes, we had a minor accident during that ride and thankfully that we had a support vehicle to carry the rider and his bicycle

We're thinking on naming it 66 Cycling Team.

I'm based in Penang, tied to a bike shop near airport, a start-up shop called Speevo Cycles

Wow Fraser's loop seems deadly! we usually ride round Penang island which is around 80km.
Support vehicle is good RM40 is not bad for decent group of riders, and also a backup incase of emergency like in your case.

Unless you are looking for an ostentatious upgrade as the performance improvement would most likely be insignificant and not even slightly perceptible by even the most sensitive butt.
