QUOTE(tcb2010 @ Aug 6 2018, 05:51 PM) Thx for the advice..i will be going for Alloy then. Concern bout those horror stories of Cheap Carbon wheels exploded or rupture during high speed..not sure if those are true or not.. Throw in Few of my choices so far: 1) Used American Classic 420 Aero 3 2) Used Zonda / Fulcrum Racing 3 3) New Fulcrum Quattro LG 4) Used Novated Jetfly ( good net reviews but nobody seem to know bout it) 5) Used Mavic SLE Exalith ( condition good but price at RM2k, worth it??) 6) New Mavic Kryserium Elites 7) Prolite C50 Carbon wheels ( thrown in for opinion seeking) Thats bout all im looking at for thr price range of <RM2k, and i kinda prefer a bit aero like 30mm profile> One more thing, now that rims gets wider, to make tires run wider ( a fitted 25mm become like 28mm)..does it really noticaeble impact? or its all just mktg talk? campagnolo zondas c17 coz it will fit new gen wider tyres, light and cheaper than fulcrum which is its adik brand. Shimano ultegra wheels, good, cheap and tubeless ready iinm. I wouldn't buy used wheels given our lack of maintenance culture here. |

I modded my sun storm dual led light to connect to a GoPro and Garmin dual mount so it is positioned in the centerline of the handlebars. The power cable runs into the saddle bag under the saddle.
The rear light is a tiny cheap Moon unit that runs on AAA rechargeables. |

Rapha is an upstart brand that has no heritage but very good marketing to make it look aspirational and so can charge a premium price.
Is it any better than the mainstay brands or even value brands like dHB? Cycling kit is very expensive when you consider the amount of material used, even more expensive when it is Rapha or maap or black sheep... But you makes your choice and you pays your money. |

QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Sep 17 2018, 08:00 AM) Guys, Check bike. Check gear. Fill your bottles with water. Makan makan makan. Sleep well before ride. Pack bike and gear into car the night before to avoid kelam Kabuto in the morning.I am preparing for my biggest ride, 160km next week. How do you guys prepare before the long hours ride? Do I need to take electrolite tablet or anything the night before, etc? Any other tips? Thanks. Make sure you do adequate mileage before embarking on your century ride. Good luck! |

Rant:
Problem with a sub standard screw on Garmin HRM. Can't get it off to replace dead battery. Contacts Garmin Malaya/ aeco. They're happy to sell you a new screw never mind you can't the damn thing off the HRm. Specialised pj where I bought the Garmin bundle advises to gently trust the back cover of the HRm off, result: cover off but screw still in place and the back cover has a bigger hole where t that damned screw sits. Not buying from aeco ever again. Paying a premium for nothing. Please don't be like me. Sekian. |

QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Oct 15 2018, 03:49 PM) I see. It is better for me to ride on trainer in Hotel if that’s the case. I will be in London and Manchester as well for a week. If you have experience cycling there, please share the route, etc. Thanks alot. The same travel advisory for Paris applies in England. Even more so, the drivers there like riders even less. And it's October, chilly. |
