Veloflex corsa and master. Essentially the same except one has tan wall. Very thin but it does shed a lot of grams.

Its not the tires, its your body weight. The fatter you are, the faster your downhill is.

Hey guys need feedback;
Anyone used 2018 Mavic Aksium and Mavic Cosmic? Which one have best overall handling, durability and maintain flat speed between those 2?....ignore the weight. I ran lot of pot holes, rain and rough off-road gravel. Just need to replace my 10 year old Shimano WH-R550 wheelset used for commuting..bearing, freehub and widewall are gone. Wheel replacement not for racing but still need speed bang for buck to commute all day.

Btw is aluminum wheelset Mavic Cosmic Elite really priced at RM$650...why so cheap? ...heads up if anyone can give me info because going to replace my bike grouppo and parts next week.

Yes i take care my equipment since i own 12x high end bikes throughout my lifetime and lots of maintenance after certain mileage on bearings, hubs and suspension dampers. I used lots of MAVIC brand on my mountain bike back but never used low end like AKSIUM or COSMIC on road bike. My commuter bike on WH-R550 wheel have been running for every 5x days per week for 10x years so its time to replace. So i need to know if cheap AKSIUM (RM$800) COSMIC (RM$650) i saw on bicyclebuysell.com can handle the commuting abuse everyday.

You guys already know that even high priced high end bikes still comes with low end parts that attached through it to cut corners. Even bikes RM$10,000 Specialized Carbon Tarmac comes with crappy DT Swiss R470 rims. With selective parts i know which is necessary for my riding style that save budget for commuting. 34 years of cycling i learned that "its not the bike its the rider". Here's is the video of my commuting...so you guys know my riding style and parts needed.

Just get them custom built. Spec a hub and rim. Easy enough. High end bike riders like you who turn their noses up at stock bike parts should be well versed with customization at the point of buying.
Or did you forget that cheap things no good, good things no cheap?

I also build custom wheels using stock hubs and Mavic wheel usually for MTB, just needed opinion from first post about previous post on road type MAVIC AKSIUM and COSMIC since you guys ride lot type of road wheels. Thats all i ask. Wow it seems to be a long argument around here just to get info about two road wheels. blink.gif

Previously hand custom build my own MAVIC X317 on stock shimano hub. Cheap solution too.

Here's a cycling video I did with a bunch of them from this forum 3 years ago, when I first started cycling not to long ago.. They encouraged me to do this insane loop, suffered badly but I am glad I did it rclxms.gif

Thank you all for the wonderful encouragements console.gif

Too bad now everyone is busy and we all have our own commitments cry.gif

I hope to make more videos too in the near future icon_rolleyes.gif
