Guys, can I have some comments on this bike?  It is 8.75kg with a 105 mix groupset.  My first RB.  Had few MTB, foldies, and a hybrid before.  Does the brand have any bad reputation?  Thanks.

Specs:

MODEL // Helium 105 R7000 mix

I think it's a decent bike for that price range. My friend got Camp Neon which is the model below it with Sora groupset. The Camp brand is in the same region as those brands like Twitter, Trinx...

At this price point it’s most probably be a s2/r2. Anything above would probably be used or oem

Even if it is an R2 or S2, the price IIRC is around 8-9k equipped with the 105 and not necessarily the latest one.

The price difference between the 105 and ultegra is about 1-2k IINM

yeah u are correct. my LBS is selling the latest cervelo r3 ultegra disc brake version for 18k and slightly cheaper for the rim brake.
r2/s2 at the price point of 10k+- with ultegra (or 105)

edit: typo

hI all,

I'm planning to go into cycling, using mountain bike.

1) What brand of bike is recommended?..I'm planning to survey at shopee website

2) the rationale for picking mountain bike is because it has cheaper maintenance. Is this rationale correct?

Facts:
- Budget: RM400 and below, if possible, below RM200. smile.gif (I saw the model Garion at shopee, cost RM443, looks fine, recommended?)
- purpose: to keep fit, will cycle it once per week, or once in 2 weeks. smile.gif

You're in the wrong thread bro. Try the MTB tered.
I'm sure you have heard of the adage,
Cheap thing no good, good thing no cheap.
You need to do a little more research into what is a MTB.

If u service or take of ur bike as per instruction, mtb is more expensive to maintain. The fork maintenance is expensive. If u dont care about it, just use without servicing the fork, then yes, mtb could be the cheaper option.

Imho, the best bike for him might be a mamachari bicycle. All rigid and fixed gears. And if he didn't ride it anymore, good RV.
