The backyard area almost completed. Just realised two things:

1. The color of the inner roof is silver, almost similar to the tiles. Anyone here thinks it’s too boring? Or looks ok already?

2. It has a water pipe. Thinking of whether i should fix a sink there- marked by circle (for future use in case we cookout outside). The contractor suggested if i want the sink outside, he will hack the liter wall and install pipe inside along the wall and outlet into the drain. Good idea? Picture below:

[attachmentid=9888127]

By the way Angelteoh- apparently i had to buy more tiles, additional of 20 tiles. Reason given is because my area has a step down (sort of drain area) therefore they have to cut the tiles to cover the sides. Also i suspect that the area is actually bigger that quoted 30 ft x 10 ft. Will go and measure tomorrow.

Quite happy with the pictures by contractor. Fingers crossed that the workmanship is good when i inspect for real tomm.

Anyways, work started around 21/22 june, and have already paid 50% of the job. Today contractor asked progress payment 10%- decided to pay as am generally satisfies with the work done.

Arghh? You didn't go see they work? So much trust of your contractor..

I wish to write something similiar to share my renovation, but too bz...

I go once in a while. To check and see the progress, cant comment much on the way they do work coz i dont know much about construction. Also coz i dont pay them according to days work but based on work done, so i dont have to worry if they are taking their own sweet time coz i wont have to pay extra, i think!

The only concern i have now is on the tiles that i bought, coz i feel like they are havent optimised the tiles

Attached Image Attached Image some of the tiles i saw they chuck on the thrash area. Should i save these tiles for future use? Not sure what for yet though

sunday so no work done for today. Good time to check the work done so far.

The tiling almost complete except for the skirting and cover for the manhole. Decided to make cover for the manhole instead of tiling over it incase in future any blockage in the drain.

Looks quite ok, i think! Happy enough, yeay!

Looks like a big house. By the way, Good Luck on your project. Let it get completed soon. I would like to remind you about the security system installation. Once the renovation gets completed never forget to install wireless security systems. As the number of break-ins is increasing on a daily basis, its the duty of each one of us to keep our houses secured. So never fail to install a security system.

Thank you James... will do! Also the area is gated and guarded so feeling secure a bit

I am told that because it is solid, it is less noisy compared to normal poly or zink roof. Yet to actually experience it, will try and take some video if available

In my case- paid 40% deposit
I dare to do so because got sign agreement and stamped.
Contractor use deposit to buy roof awning backyard ( COST 8K ), backyard fence 4K .. so now that roof awning backyard almost done 80%, and other work also start ( i Calculate roughly correlate with amount of money paid)

Then onwards i pay 10% and 10% according to progress
