But you will not be entitle to 1.52 sen/kWh ICPT rebate until 30th June 2016 Has things change since gst?https://www.tnb.com.my/assets/news_and_high...22015-00075.pdf ICPT rebate was 2.25 sen/kWh last year (2015) but gomen slashed it to 1.52sen this year. https://www.tnb.com.my/announcements/imbala...h-tariff-rebate |

Just got information that Fit no more already ?
And change to NEM (net energy metering) from 1 nov. The different is, less ROI. NEM is to reduce your bill before export the extra energy to TNB. But not sure what is the rate. Are the NEM rate higher ? |

FIT quota allocated early this year. Quota was allocated for this year and next year and installation for this year should be nearly completed. Some have dropped out and others on the waiting list have the opportunity. Too late to get onto the waiting list now.
NEM rates are basically what TNB would have otherwise charged you. Extract from TNB website for your reference. As you can deduce, its not really worth it anymore unless you are a fervent tree hugger. FIT installation rates this year are in the mid 90sen/kwh. Tariff A - Domestic Tariff For the first 200 kWh (1 - 200 kWh) per month sen/kWh 21.80 For the next 100 kWh (201 - 300 kWh) per month sen/kWh 33.40 For the next 300 kWh (301 - 600 kWh) per month sen/kWh 51.60 For the next 300 kWh (601 - 900 kWh) per month sen/kWh 54.60 For the next kWh (901 kWh onwards) per month sen/kWh 57.10 |

Actually, the cabinet had approved in principal up to 5% of the electricity bill for RE. at present, its only approved at 1.6%. if the day happens when Malaysia is rich and prosperous and feeling that RE is a priority, the 1.6% 'tax' can be increased and hopefully some will be allocated for individual quota again. no idea if or when that day will be...

I've always wondered. If we setup our own solar panels, batteries, inverters etc, can we use it to feedback into our house directly. Meaning that we use battery power instead of TNB for some applicances/whole house.
Can TNB stop us? Because we generate on our own property. Innovations new solar panels that look like roof shingles from Elon Musk, make it more easier to go solar. I was thinking of trying to use solar power and batteries to power some items like AC and fridges in my house. |

But with a few battery like Tesla Powerwall + Solar panel can power your home competely for whole day. |

I heard that SolarCity in US installs the solar panel for zero out of pocket cost. I wonder how it is being done and whether i can be applied in Malaysia?

Don't think they have it any more. Only works when the tariff is high. The average residential electricity rate in California is 15.34ยข/kWh, which ranks 8th in the U.S. |

Malaysia is hot country so solar will have very low efficiency.
ROI will be very low because you will use more than what solar can give. if your house at cameron highland maybe will give little bit ROI |
