which 22' WS would you recommend as im looking for quality for gaming and movies. thanks.

Since all 22" WS quality are about the same, I would go for E228WFP since it is so cheap right now.

Unfortunately, my job requires me to face LCDs more than facing homosapien. Just like ruffstuff said, that is what I do for a living.

Just want to know...anyone having 2 different resolution monitors side by side, for example, one 24" 16:10 and 19" 5:4? How is the experience? I'm thinking of using multiple monitors. not sure whether I should go for 24" (Dell at RM1899) to be paired with my current 19" or two 22" (LG at RM2000)... Suggestion and/or experience?

means if got over 7 dead pixel Dell will replace with a new lcd?

Yes, thats their original policy. However, there are some people who had received a new LCD before just because of 1 dead pixel. What you should do is, call them and let them know you have dead pixel. They come, they exchange, and they will go without asking any questions..

I remember last time that there is an option provided by your graphic card's driver/software that allows you to make 2 LCD for display side by side. I tested that before with my old 17" CRT and a TV before using only MX440. IIRC, there are many options like Clone or side by side pictures etc..

2007WFP is not an entry level WS. It can be considered high end version. It can be used for almost everything, video, gaming, surfing + graphical works. It is so good that I have twins.
Ok, thanks for the inputs.

Anybody here own the entry level dell 20" WS? Care to provide some info?

Anyway a friend of mine is looking for an lcd for a strict budget of around RM700.

The entry level dell 20" inch WS is priced at Rm749. Should I recommend this or other lcd to him (non wide screen)? Any suggestion? He's just an average user. Use pc for movie and light gaming.

There is another issue surround the new 2407wfp-HC which is the panel is not being square to the bezel. I hope users of HC panel can clarify this matter.

Mine's perfectly fine - I don't think that particular issue seems particular common. It seems to be one person posting across multiple sites, username "Gray".

Ruffstuff, What do you mean by not being square to the bezel? Or you may describe it as not properly aligned?

Yup, you are right. 7 dead pixels policy.

That some people is me tongue.gif

For me, it's just annoying to see the dead pixel on my new screen, so I complain to Dell loh. I can say that their after-sales service are excellence and helpful. First, I though of rugi RM80 to send it back to Dell but then they agreed to get the replacement for me.

It's ok to have 2 different resolution monitors side by side, I feel comfortable with it. But never pair CRT & LCD together, it's just so sakit mata. Believe me, you would never want to look at the CRT screen when you got LCD on the other side.

Would you mind going through the sequence of events re: your conversation with Dell? I am thinking of doing the same thing myself. They will send you a replacement first?

Actually, it takes quite a few phone call. 1st call, i let the sales person know about the dead pixel. 2nd call, the sales manager (i guess) call me again to analyze the situation. 3rd call, they get the technician to verify the matter. Strangely, the technician ask me to get the snapshot of the dead pixel. So i take photo using camera loh, so hard to get the picture clear. Then send email to them. 2 days later only, i got the call from logistic department for confirming the date of getting the replacement of my new LCD (from Singapore). Took almost 1 week to get my new replacement. And they didn't even take back the another faulty LCD. So i got 2 LCDs, testing & playing around for 3 days before i call them and they take back the other one.

Well I have to say so far my experience with Dell has been absolutely top notch. From ordering to receiving to trying to get the LCD replaced, have had no problems and everyone has been professional and friendly. As I mentioned before I was on the line just to enquire about their dead pixel policy, and one thing led to another. I didn't think I could complete the replacement request because I'm at the office and unable to get the serial code from my LCD. However the lady I was on the line with told me she will email me, and to which I can then reply to at my convenience with the serial code. With that she'll complete the replacement request.

Top marks to Dell. thumbup.gif

Once I get my LCD replacement I will send a glowing thank you letter to Dell. I encourage people who have had a good experience with them to do the same. If not by letter, can always email. biggrin.gif

I just order the Dell 22 inch model last night. Pray that the LCD won't have dead pixel on arrival.
