Movies mastered on 24 fps are shown on 60Hz/120Hz TVs by showing the frame longer than a second. For 120Hz TVs, this is five times longer.

*
No frame will ever last a full second on any TV , jeez .
If it does , the whole screen would have been frozen .

Even if it does , that is a whole new issue called stutter , not Judders .

Clearly you have no idea how telecine works , if at all .

The nature of LCD which is based on hold and display , will always resolve everything within that one second , even if it has to end up skipping frames in between .

When it comes to motion we are talking about milliseconds here , which is 1/1000 of a second.

Someone watched a few FOMO videos and is now the GURU of the TV forum unsure.gif

Assuming they are of same sizes , it is worth it .

Dozen of benefits , just the FALD alone is worth paying extra .

Not to mention a native 10 bit , 120hz screen .

Guys, need some recommendation for 50" or 55" 4K UHD TV.

Preference :

1. Not necessary Google/Android TV. If matches my budget and have either one will be ok too.

2. Prefer slim or bezel less.

3. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR 10+ will be nice.

4. Dual band wifi, bluetooth.

5. Prefer "hard or dual panel", so when view from side the colour will not run too much~

6. 2020 or 2019 model can be accepted

Budget between RM 2k ~ RM 2.5K

Hopefully can get some suggestion here~

Assuming you are okay with a 50 inch for less than RM 2.1K, this is quite a good bet while the 55 inch version is also within your budget. The
50 inch for the SEA market as I understand is using an IPS panel that meets your viewing angle requirement. It also ticks all the other boxes
in your list of consideration and the Harvey Norman prices are slightly better than online sellers on Lazada and Shopee ...

Thanks for the reply.

Today I went to HN @ Sunway Velocity, but to my understanding their outlet doesn't have any ready stock for this model.

By far I have not experience buying TV via online platfrom. I assume this pricing is only available for online purchase, then I have few queries.

1. How do we identify whether the TV I order/receive is a brand new unit and not a display set?

2. Since I'm buying directly from HN and not S/L platform, in case when I receive the TV and found out that there are some defects, which end up cannot be solved, can I entitle to get a full refund?

3. Will I able to buy extended warranty from HN beside the standard 2 yrs warranty by manufacturer?

Are the HN outlets in Selangor open? I am under the impression that all HN stores are closed and they only accept online purchases?
Anyway, to answer your questions / concerns below :

1. The pricing is for online purchase as what my contact at HN Johor Bahru confirmed to me. Stores like HN and SENQ usually will
inform you formally if your purchase is for a BNIB unit or display unit - the pricing will usually reflect this. Again, you can also ask
them to put this in writing (the invoice should state if it's a display unit) to avoid disputes

2. Regardless of where you are buying from, the return policy is determined by the brand's distributor and not the platform you are
purchasing from. I believe all major brands have similar policy when it comes to defective new units that cannot be resolved / fixed
where a replacement unit must be given - have not heard of cash refund policy to be honest.

The plus point of buying from these large chain stores is that you only need to deal with them in getting your issues resolved instead
of approaching the brand's service representative which can be a real pain in the ass at times.

3. HN and SENQ both offer extended warranties on top of the usual manufacturer's standard warranty terms - this is a good move if
you are planning to keep your TV for 3 years or longer.

Thx for the detail reply...

I'm just trying my luck @ Sunway Velocity HN. I think they manage to get MITI letter because they are also selling HP & laptops inside their store. And FYI, beside these 2 department, all other electrical like tv, fridge, washing machine etc are all NOT ALLOWED to enter. Only manage to see from far, and enquire about the stock availability.

Anyhow, today I called HN helpline and too bad the entire Malaysia HN have no stock for the Phlips 50/55PUT8215. If wanna order, it will consider as pre-order and the delivery date is ETA 14~30 working days...

Hi All, need some help for TV Recommendation.
TCL C716 - RM2.5
Philips 7374 - RM2.5
Philips 8215 - RM2.2
Xiaomi P1 - RM2.3

Which is the best to buy right now. I'm using only for movie, sports for my bedroom. Planning to get 50" - 55" depends on the pricing.
You can suggest some models, I prefer Smart Tv but mostly newest model in market right now is Android TV.
My budget is RM2.5K
