I am the type that is very particular in the overall look. I don't want something that will look out of place. like if the wall is small, then 1 huge TV, will definitely look out of place and weird. I prefer proportionate.
Then have a look at the LG GX series. A piece of glass hanging onto the wall. You can then impress your visitors.

maybe this can do the sample.. or watch some videos from sony official promo clips for simple illustration purposes..

You said it yourself , " promo " clips .

Can you really trust everything from the promotional material ? I really doubt that .

So that still leave my question on the air , what is " HDR remaster " ?
You have been flaunting that term around , I was simply curious about if people know the meaning behind these promo - terminology .

Regardless I am going to tell you what it is , it is the same dynamic tone mapping function found in Samsung and LG 's TVs as well .
Just because they have coined a whole different new name for it , doesn't mean it is something new .
And it definitely isn't exclusive to Sony .

Obviously they r going to pick a new name for it , because it sounded more exciting to the buyers .

Although I must admit Sony is a whole lot more generous with their entry level TVs this year , from supporting Dolby Vision and WCG .

ohhh.. that is interesting. okok, gotta keep that in mind. true, I don't want it to be too big and have to turn my heads all the time when watching any action scenes or especially when playing games, I prefer to view everything in 1 glance
ahhh... my room is kinda big, it's a living + dining kinda room. but my TV is not on the wall, it's on the TV Panel which is in the middle of the room. so something medium size, I guess?
my TV panel is about 7-8 ft width and about 5-6 ft height. I am the type that is very particular in the overall look. I don't want something that will look out of place. like if the wall is small, then 1 huge TV, will definitely look out of place and weird. I prefer proportionate.
yea, budget plays a big role too. and also the features of the TV, something huge, but with old models and no Smart TV and such, also not worth it.

check up the dimension of your preferred model, use black rubber tape paste on wall/tv panel.. so you can imagine the size of TV.. cheap ways to have illustration on tv wall to decide whether u want to go bigger or not..

Was deciding between Tu8500 and x8000h and ended up with the Sony. Most of my appliances are jepunis branded hence I went with Sony lol.

1080p upscale to 4k quite good if you ask me. I'm coming from a full HD plasma TV so I guess upgrading to a 4k TV surely a big step up in the picture quality.

Yes since last year model sony has been generous to consumers by giving a premium features like WCG and such...this year sony make samsung tv look way overpriced with their excellent x9000h...

that one way overbudget! hahahaha 65" is 16k!! that's crazy! I wish I am rich enough to buy that hahahaha
it's 16k for the 65"! damn man!
ahhhh that's a good suggestion! maybe I should try it out, thanks! biggrin.gif

Yeah and also look up the TV spec for sizing to see if it fits your current TV bench.

If you don't mind not having the android build in (using mibox/tv box) then it does lower the cost quite a bit.

Bout 2 years ago, 60" sharp 6500 series (4K non smart) = 2499 and 6800 series = 3199 (4K with android built in), new unit from warehouse sales.
Anything larger than 55" is really challenging for self collect cash and carry.. I bought a 60" also sticks out the back of ford ranger by 6 inches.
Now maybe diff models and improvement.

Price difference I can just spend like 200+ for a mibox and get netflix 4k rclxm9.gif

Generally get the biggest screen one can afford. The regret of something small like 39" was regretted for about 9 years by yours truly (back then 2010 big TV expensive, even a 39" also cost 1300)

Hi,

basically im interested in samsung brand. model of 2020

options
1) Samsung TU8500 - 50 or 55' drool.gif
2) samsung TU8000 - not sure what the diff are, but slightly cheaper

since its a smart tv, not android tv, i wonder what apps will be included. those basic ones like chrome/youtube/netflix/disney+ would be pre installed i assume?

plz advice. budget below RM2.5k. 50-55' would be enough due to budget and space. flex.gif

Smart TV = Only pre-installed apps such as netflix, youtube, browser.. or whatever it advertised.. you cannot add any further apps in future..

Android TV = You have playstore to decide any apps to install.. You can sideload some apps also.. Even saw ppl play asphalt 8 or dead trigger through android tv with gamepad connected.

Ya. Senheng more pricy then Lazada/Shoppee but with long warranty(with additional charge).
If Senheng really good in warranty claim, I will choose Senheng.

I have no comment about claim warranty for expensive item(more than RM1k).
So far, I have claimed warranty for below RM200 once. No issue.

So worth the extend? Almost rm500 for 3 + 2 years.

For some Smart TVs (non-Android TVs), they do have their own app store like Samsung Smart Hub. Smart TVs need a connection to the Internet.

But, having an Android box is a different solution to third-party apps to complement any Smart TV that doesn't have such app.

yes you are right.. but it will take up one of your HDMI port.. majority of TVs having 2 to 3 ports.. some even have 4 HDMI ports.. so depend on needs basically..

Does anyone knows the difference between Sony x80h and Sony x8000h? Btw what are the budget 4k 55inches android TV that I can consider? Any recommendations? I've been using Samsung TV for 12 years and white cloudy spots are appearing on the screen, I guess it's time for me to change a TV.
