hi sifus, just to as for some clarification from you guys.

I'm considering between Samsung TU7000 65' and Hisense A7400F.

I'm getting the samsung model for just RM2200 compared to Hisense model for RM2750. Yes, samsung is cheaper because i'm getting it from a Maxis plan reseller.

Based on my searches, Samsung tvs do not support Dolby vision Hdr. Would that be a different in picture quality ?Additionally, the Samsung's running tizen operating interface compared Hisense's android interface.

My major concern is the picture quality.

I'm lost. Which model would you guys advise to go for?

Finally got the sony x75H.. I would said it is really worth to get this.. if compared this vs x70g, damn.. the display panel is so much nicer and contrast and black level is better.. if got more budget, go for x90h with HDR remaster technology.. but myself feel x75H is a lot nicer.. watch with 4K contents or netflix.. feel wow..

If we talking about picture quality, samsung will win for sure. Plus samsung has better scale up for sd content.

Any sifus here can recommend a good 4K TV that is between 55" and 60"?

It will mostly be used to watch Netflix. Then, I do plan on getting a PS5 to connect to it. So it should at least support 4K. Then maybe, I might connect my PC to it too to play some cool games.

Is it only Sharp has 60" TVs? I don't see any brands like Sony or Samsung release such size, which is such a letdown. 60" is just nice for my TV panel too.

is there anything near there? maybe 58" or 59"? or maybe a bit more like 61"? any such odd sizes?

what is your budget a this 4k tv ?

optimum tv size depends on your sitting distance to tv . and bigger is no harm .

check these at sony , Samsung , tcl ,

Around RM3500-4000. But I'm planning of getting a soundbar too. Is there anything with that budget?

The sitting distance is around 7-8 feet away. So what's the optimal TV size?

from google .

The ideal TV viewing distance 4K Ultra HD TVs is between about 1 and 1.5 times the diagonal width of the screen, which works out to the following distances: A 40'' TV– You should sit between 3.5 and 5 feet away from the screen. A 43'' TV– You should sit between 3.5 and 5.5 feet away from the screen.

hence 65 inch TV would be ideal .
a good one

55inch is quite a good choice for u.. with that budget, if without taking the soundbar, you may go for Sony x90h for 4k price 55inch.. samsung do have 1 model with 58inch.. around 3k..

7ft to 8ft, soundbar might create big sounds in your area.. I guess tv speaker should fit for you.. probably you should go some electrical store to experience yourself about the different experience from different brand..

bro.. for 7 feet to 8 watching distance . which rule you apply can say 55 inch is optimum ?

i think TV screen is too small hence poor experience on a small screen .
its always better to have a bigger TV if budget allows.

oh... so even a 65" is still optimal for me then, okay...

so what do you use for speaker? a proper speaker setup then? is it a lot more expensive?
there are so many types of TVs and so many brands. but which is good? we got brands from Japan la, Korea la, China la... or even Europe la
what do you mean big sound? as in will create echo? hmmm... just TV speaker is good enough? I always thought that TV has lousy speakers, will need a proper speaker setup or at least a soundbar for good sound quality
oh... will have a look at that, although 55" seems a big small to me hahaha

There are a lot of tv size calculator which you could use as a reference.. I was based on that as well.. But of course it doesnt mean that u must follow on it.. you could go as big as you could.. just some people might feel not comfortable if too big withina distance.. Same as cinema concept, ppl prefer to buy last row and center seat.. You dont want to turn your head from left to right left to right too many times..

in article below, in short, they are recommend for 30 degree viewing angle for mixed usage.. mean you may use your viewing distance in inches to divide 1.6..

e.g. 7 ft to 8ft.. around 84 inches ~ 96 inches.. divided by 1.6 = 52.5~60 inches of TV size..

OK , another important factor is also the size of your hall /room . Need to consider this factor to select size.
a big TV in a small hall will look out of place. nod.gif

ya.. depend on tv cabinet also.. some maybe have standard 5 to 6ft size.. but some maybe have luxury 10fts+ tv cabinet..

but in the end, depend on the owner.. if TS wish to get 65 also can. as i do have 1 friend own 65inch samsung TV throughout maxis plan in her living hall that within 7~8ft too.. for me, looks overkill.. but her husband prefer bigger size and RM1 per month.. ok lo.. bigger size, if processing power of upscale contents is not good enough, the quality of view will drop.. dont know how to explain but ya.. mostly video contents in 1080p which is acceptable.. some maybe just 720p and upscale processing quality is not ideal then it really not so recommend to get bigger size TV.. however, nowadays most people might go with NetFlix or TV box.. so really depending..

personally, I look at these distance recommendation differently.

For 40", I would consider the 3.5 - 5 ft being the minimum distance necessary.

As for how far away I actually prefer to watch, well, it all depends on the budgets. In my case, recommendation calls for a 77" but budget only allows for a 65" and I am not complaining.
