Can't find any with built in mirror link feature, those with mirror link unit that I found are not android OS (ie. cannot run android apps independantly)

from what I see, usually mirror link won't look as nice as inherent android UI set for head unit because the mirrored display is showing UI in vertical(handphone) orientation.

Personally for driving i like spotify waze and youtube

Don't think there's any brand, most (if not all) of these aftermarket HU are china one and no brand.

So only decide based on the specs. Mainly ROM and RAM size.

So I found 2 places in Serdang that sells Android based HU. The ram size is 2GB and storage is 16GB. Comes default with Android 6.0 but can be upgraded to 8.0. 1 year warranty.
Brand name is DynaLink

Total Installation cost including HU and screen casing is RM1100.

Any thoughts?

My current HU supports mirrorlink but navigation app is limited to Sygic which is not as updated as Maps or Waze.

Android one usually will be worse. I say usually because usually its those cheap china set.

My last player was sony explode , i change to android player. The sound is decent, the price is cheap, the player & installation just cause me rm500

RM330 is damn cheap. I bought mine 10" from aliexpress for RM1.2k 3 years ago. But I warn you 1GB is not enough. Ok to run stock radio and music but downloaded apps like waze, spotify etc gonna be lagg like hell

The current 9" and 10" Android headunit price range from rm199 to RM2k++ also got.

the different is inside, which from the outside, the looks is identical because there's only 2 or 3 manufacturer doing the screen and casing.

as for how to see which spec is good, usual customer will only ask how much ram and how much rom, but this can be totally faked.

I has experience my customer with quadcore 2 + 32 selling at rm499 is actually running on 2 core only. The fact is, the CPU are actually a recon unit with 2 core burned and left 2 core running. This is why they sell it at dirt cheap price, dont forget the screen quality and OS quality.

You have to determine by checking, not just printing on the box / spec

1. CPU - i cant tell much, but it's really depending whether they lie or not
2. RAM - 1gb min, now got 4gb i saw
3. ROM - 16gb min, now got 64 max i saw
4. Android Version - 8 / 9 is ok actually
5. Interface (Launcher app) - Interface smooth or not, nice or not are really depend on manufacturer's money in developing. of course more expensive unit will come with more proper developed interface, less problem and more smoother.
6. Sound - Most come with minimum 3 band EQ which is the standard, 12 band for medium and 31 band for software DSP. Currently i haven saw any hardware DSP around. But if you were paring with speaker directly, the sound were fine as china guy now using higher power amp for the headunit. If you want to connect to amplifier, then it's based on luck as the RCA out with Speaker out can be totally different story.
7. Camera input and support - some came with only rear, some came with font + rear, some came with bird view. So it's also depend on price. Lately there's so called AHD camera that can be support by certain model. AHD use digital signal instead of analog signal, so the image will be more cleaner.
8. Extra function from OS (Split Screen, External Mic, Rear view Monitor, TPMS, DVR, and etc.

I saw this Cogoo android player brand. It look nice with 9-10" size. Eam n rom have 1/16 and hv 2/32. Is it any good? Anyone installed it b4? Review?

Bought a supposely a 2gb ram Android HU. After installing, discover it wasn't.
Is a 1gb ram, model ac8227L.
In cpuz, it show 2gb, other apps show is 1gb.
Developer section had a password, had to bypass it. It show 1gb too.
After removing the HU to send to exhange or refund.
I noticed there is a sticker on the motherboard saying '1gb+16gb'.

Is there any around rm300 with 2gb ram?

As said, spec can be fake...300 dun hope can get 2gb at this moment.

just changed my myvi 2014 oem radio to soundstream 1032D..so far the launcher and apps are smooth price also not bad rm699

check out convex, Cogoo and yes they are china brand.

I think this is similar to convex, the face and description looks the same. Many of the OEM are being rebranded.

For those China-brand head unit like Convex or Cogoo, is it possible to change the UI main screen widgets or icons by dragging-and-dropping like a normal Android smartphone or tablet?

I like a very basic minimalist main screen, with just the time and date in the middle, and the just Radio, Google Maps, Phone and settings icons.

I notice some of the newer head unit UIs are very cluttered, with huge buttons taking up 1/2 or 2/3s of the height of the display .

-Have its own GPS antenna which need to stick on the windscreen. I pattern banyak, prefer as little change to my car as possible
-Boot up time slightly longer than stock player

I am using a dunno-what-brand china android HU that supposed to be 2gb ram but check cpuz only 1.2gb (laggy AF, regret for being a cheapskate), installed CarWebGuru launcher app to change the UI entirely, quite nice just a bit buggy, I even customize my own startup animation & logo learned from youtube gurus, AGAMA launcher also seems nice, give it a try...

a bit pricey . @_@

Slightly longer than the original HUD, but bearable. If you are those type of person get into the car then straight press keystart, put gear into reverse, it still manage to show you your reverse camera haha.

I think lag or not different people different experience, suggest go find one shop and experience it yourself, no harm not buying haha.

It comes with some other movie streaming player but I rarely use that. Youtube pretty responsive for me.

just want to share my personal review of my newly installed Cogoo Android Player

hopefully, some of this info can help ~

Brand: Cogoo
Model: 2+32 DSP with QLED
Price: RM800 incl installation & casing
Car Model: City GM6 FL
Resolution: 1024x600
Android Version: 9 (showing at UI) but actually is 8.1 (aida64)

others tech spec is similar to other T3L models in the market

pros

- boot time is around: 25sec + -
- have shutdown delay timer feature so it will go sleep mode for a certain period of time set instead of power down the whole player when car power is shut down
- all fully plug & play incl my steerling control & default usb port
- no lag so far
- software DSP, have lots of things to tune & play
- AHD camera support (thou have minor distortion but you gotta be very picky only will notice)
- radio signal so far similar to my original player
- lots of apps can install like TPMS, CarPlay, Youtube etc (somehow Netflix is not supported)
- screen is very bright even with dimmer function at night driving (normally I set brightness to lowest or screensaver mode)

cons

- well is 4core with 2GB RAM, so it won't be fast, system won't be lag but definitely is not fast (open waze or google map it can take quite awhile, about 15 sec + - from start app till ready to use)
- internal GPS sometimes not accurate & hard detect sometimes
- require a phone hotspot for internet connectivity so each time I have to manually connect it with my phone
- sometimes got some stupid bugs here & there
- apps will crash once in a while if too much is running at background

Overall if you are expecting to work as half efficient as current smartphone, my advice is don't bother

as is only 4core with 2GB ram, unless you get the 8core, 4GB or 6GB version maybe it will be much better

I brought this so I can pair with my carlink kit for wireless Apple Carplay play as other brands with wireless Apple Carplay will easily cost RM2k +

Haha same here bro, I bought some android HU called VF audio 2gb+32 w/ dsp just for tuning and bought carlinkit carplay, no need to be bothered by the android lagginess. The carplay adapter worked very well wireless.

Mine does not come with rear camera. I initially use back my original camera but after close to a month I cannot tahan so I replace it with a 360 hd camera running on 720p ahd signal. I doubt you can get such prices with rear camera come prebundle unless you purchase older ts9 or px6 at the same price pretty sure can they can throw in the reverse camera but don’t know which version or quality. The one I have usually sold around 2k above so that 500 savings can get you a front and rear camera with ease. I believe it’s called edog?

I just got a new almera where the headunit dosnt support android play. Also there is no wifi connection and not able to install any app to support android phone. Any help ror me to modify this so it can support my android phone?

hi all, a little new to Android Head Units

so im currently considering to change the stock old school sound/radio system to an AHU.

however, im a little confused on the following concerns:

1. i've seen many selling 2gb ram + 16gb storage (most common).
- however, once it comes to 4gb, the price is suddenly x2-x3
- example, 2gb + 16gb costs RM400, but a 4gb + 16gb costs RM1200-RM1300
- somehow feel its not worth to pay for just additional 2gb

2. if i want to use android Auto, does the player pull its performance from the phone instead? so the 2gb doesnt matter anymore?

3. how about sound quality (if connected to Android Auto)
- does it get the sound from my phone system? like dolby, equalizer, etc


my main objective is to connect my phone and use it with Android Auto,
so my concern will be understanding if getting a 2gb will affect performance? or as long as you're connected to Android Auto, the AHU will just function as a screen and all the performance will be from the phone instead?

so if navigate using waze or gmaps, using Android Auto will be better on a 2gb AHU?

if you go to shop and buy and ask for installation maybe will cost more, because warranty their give,
but if u buy online and go shop and ask to install their will charge installation only but no warranty from them ,
if you like diy you can find you tube and install by your self
if you care about warranty better send to shop
