u know their masterplan cheating plan?
for everyone who subscribes for 1MB line, they will throttle the bandwidth by a few kilobytes. So when u add up all the 'throttled kilobytes'.... TADAAA!!!!! U CAN NOW OFFER A 4MB limited pkg to other PPL!!!!! ITS SO EASY! ITS TMNET! Best public listed cheating GLC !!!! They steal from their current subscribers bandwidth ....so they can add more fresh meat... aih...where is the class action lawsuit? how can i sign up to give my support... |

QUOTE(nwk @ May 17 2007, 09:24 PM) I completely agree with the statement above. Only a complete idiot will pay RM198 for a THROTTLED 4Mb package. Why do you want to pay so much just to surf? It would be nice if everyone didn't bother to subscribe to this new package. Then that will tell tmnut that we all very angy and mad like hell at them. Also we have the infamous "BEST EFFORT" tag on the 4Mb package. With this, do you think you will even get 80% of the 4Mb you are paying for? I seriously doubt it when 99% of 1Mb subscribers are complaining everyday of their slow speeds. well do you have any good suggestion? |

hmm... i don't know why so many of you are getting such crappy service. for me, my speeds have been fantastic. even now as i am on the 1mbps package, my download speeds are usually about 140-160kBps (including torrent downloads - my well-seeded tv shows downloaded weekly, programs, etc). that's about 1.1-1.3mbps, more than what i subscribed for.
i have decided to become a guinea pig as well, and will be going to tmnet to upgrade to this 4mbps package because, firstly i need the speed for my downloads and online stuffs, and secondly... because GATAL! 4MBPS ok! dun play play... i know some of u say it's a con job or a scam etc, but so far I am quite happy with my net service. hopefully, the experience will be a good one, and I will gladly share it with everyone here in the forums. i know tmnet has had its ups and downs, but for me, their internet service has been quite good. so yes, if the outcome is great, I will share. and if sux, then I will share and vent and join the rest of you angry people too! so yes, 4mbps or less than 4mpbs is still ok. afterall, it sure beats using dialup! Sadly its not...thats y its, SAD.... i have decided to become a guinea pig as well, and will be going to tmnet to upgrade to this 4mbps package because, firstly i need the speed for my downloads and online stuffs, and secondly... because GATAL! 4MBPS ok! dun play play... i know some of u say it's a con job or a scam etc, but so far I am quite happy with my net service. hopefully, the experience will be a good one, and I will gladly share it with everyone here in the forums. i know tmnet has had its ups and downs, but for me, their internet service has been quite good. so yes, if the outcome is great, I will share. and if sux, then I will share and vent and join the rest of you angry people too! so yes, 4mbps or less than 4mpbs is still ok. afterall, it sure beats using dialup! |

Hmmm, just realised about this new package thingie >_<"
Anyways was going through the T&C for fun, thought I will rant about it from there -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speed of service is on 'best effort basis'. Oooooooo... the famous Streamyx slogan! Monthly subscription fee of RM198 is applicable only for customers who subscribe before 17th June 2007. Customers who subscribe after 17th June 2007 will be charged at a normal rate of RM268. HUH?!?!? You CROOK! You going to charge a normal rate of RM268 for a measly 4mbps line that is probably going to get throttled like fark for some blerdy reason. RM198 is already expensive (IMHO) The 1st bill received will include installation fee of RM88 and one time service activation fee of RM75, a one month subscription fee (from the date of service activation) and an advance charge of the second month subscription fee. Why dont they allow exisiting users to upgrade to 4mbps straight... ahhh here comes the answers. Time to EARN from installation and activation fees. Customers are not allowed to downgrade during the minimum subscription period. Yeah so if it is stinks, too bad... stick with it or terminate it somehow. Minimum bandwidth for tmnet BB phone is 128Kbps per call. I wonder why they must put this out... does this means every single packat transfer will be throttled to 128kbps after you doing "excessive" downloads? Streamyx terms & conditions apply. Sheesh, this thread is quick to turn into a rant thread. I believe RM 198 is quite a reasonable price, for their pricing strategy (try 66+ 22x7), unless you want to say the price increase should be +22 only when the speed is doubled.
Whatever you guys want to say, I do think the price is more reasonable, compared to the 2 mbps package. Again, terms and conditions apply, like how you need to pay rm 268 a month if you were to start subscribing late. Don't forget about teh throttle, lol. This would work great with VPN service and all the other bypassing method available on the net, though. I'm interested, but again, like I'm going to use all that speed. I'm not going to download a lot anyway. What's the upload speed anyway? This post has been edited by blindbox: May 18 2007, 09:08 AM |

I can afford to pay the rm 198 for the 4km, but guess what, i'm only 4 km away from the exchange but their saying you need to be 3 km !! DIE TMNUT !!!Whatever you guys want to say, I do think the price is more reasonable, compared to the 2 mbps package. I may be able to afford it but i tell you if you look overseas you would know we are paying PREMIUM PRICES for the same shit that other countries are paying much lesser for. TMNUT WANT TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE IT'S A FAIR PRICE WHEN ITS NOT ! Don't look at local broadband and prices then say ah, not bad for double the speed. This is the wrong way to look at it. Fookin tmnut Anyway enough of the speed speculations, DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY HAVE THIS YET AND CAN TELL US WHAT THE download speed is like ? We all know already the price is a con, but performance still not sure yet >->; This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: May 18 2007, 09:33 AM |

Oh i just want to add, even if it is throttled, i do alot of direct downloads like rapidshare ( not even premium account ) and i get like 100-140 kbps.
For torrent i use Xunlei i can get 170 kbps depending on whether the torrent is seeded well. Yes tmnut throttles ( not sure if this 4mbps is though ), but there many free ways to bypass their crap. I'm still skeptical whether this will reduce latency especially to World of Warcraft servers located in the Us, if it does i would call it a success. |
