My bad... it IS Ruwido’s BATTERY problem. Now my aircon remote is dirty because of leak again. Astro ultra box remote is fine 👍
*
My AC is still fine with the battery but it seems like it depletes quickly, now pressing any key on the remote would make the screen go dim for a bit

Haven’t opened my AC remote battery cover yet though

Hmm am I understanding it wrong, the person is complaining about unable to to fwd/rev, using the ultra box?

Why cant s/he? Ultra box is able to pause/rev/play but those live on going channel, obviously one cannot fwd, unless restart the show from the beginning. As for recoding, could is provided just set the timer and record accordingly.

Still dont get what is the problem

*
The ultra box cannot rewind on live TV while the PVR box can do that(like a DVD/blueray player)

Same here. Not PVR type at the moment.

I actually like Astro’s VOD function as I use it a lot on Astro Go.

Noted on the remote part. I’m not sure if I can have it later for my own place since my situation is a bit complicated.
*
I believe he meant using the PVR remote,, the ultra box supports Astro remote control from 1st gen HD/ Astro byond box (DMT4) onwards

hi guys, i just recently upgraded to 70inch 4k sharp. is there anything i should configure ( maybe outputting it to 1080i or p) in order for it to look ok because right now everything looks soo not hd sweat.gif

many thanks in advance
*
What decoder are you using, try setting it to the maximum possible( 1080i max for HD/PVR box, 2160P for Ultra box, you may try 1080i/p on the ultra box as well but you may notice some artifacts from doing that)

I got the free ultra box few months back. yeah. now tempting to ditch astro and go for netflix.
*
I belive if you recently upgrade to the ultra box, then you can't terminate without penalty until the 24 months contract is up

Guys wanna ask, the Astro + Broadband thingy uses the fibre modem or the SIM Card one. Apparently my area they installed the fibre cable ard January and till date unifi is 'masih x tersedia'. Tried contacting the agent, he said port full, but no one ard the DP installed unifi. Pening laa. So if Astro's one comes with the 4G Modem then good la.
*
Astro and broadband uses maxis fiber for internet

Hence if no fiber = no Astro and broadband

Maybe the infra has not been activated by TM yet or the ports got reserved for streamyx user

If not mistaken it’s going to be open for streamyx user(1st) > new unifi sign up > other HSBB isp(maxis, Digi, celcom)

This TV doesn't support astro 4K as astro 4K requires HDCP 2.2( roughly TV from 2017 or newer)

Tunning into ch 780 should give you the HDCP error

Hmm noticing lately that the ultra box is affecting the overall bandwidth(100 mbps) of the entire house doh.gif

Noticed that with the ultra box streaming/on in general that my internet speed would be inconsistent(speed dips down below 80 mbps then goes back up)

Disconnecting the ultra box from the router(Ethernet) would give me the usual internet speed and stability

Initially when installed ultra box don’t have such issue hmm.gif

So there is no way for me to watch D+ on my tv?

Even if i have a smart TV?

Only works on mobile device if able to download the app?

Using my desktop pc trying to access D+ website, all it does is ask me to input phone number and pay package.
Nowhere for me to input my astro id.
WTF is going on?

Am i doing something wrong here?
*
You'll need to go to astro.com.my/disney to register for it 1st

You can watch disney+hostar on smart TV too, some platform requires workaround: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5152331

Oh well.
We just have to wait for Disney to improve the app.
Or maybe not.
It has been launched in Indo for more than 6 months, takkan takde orang complain about the app?
Or Disney just decided to launch the subpar app in third world countries like us?
Android Box no issue, but he said issue with LG webOS TV.
*
QUOTE(joshhd @ Jun 4 2021, 08:13 AM)
What android box did you use?

Complaints, for sure will have.
Whether they feel the urge to rectify the issue or not, that's another story.

In other words, price = quality
Yet the option of "higher price = higher quality" isn't available for Malaysia also. Using VPN to access Disney+ then it's another different story.
*
Hmm,, apparently according to the news I’ve read, only Android TV, Apple TV 4K can only stream Disney+hot star in 4K

So it seems like Samsung TV, LG TV only get 1080P? The app is not even in Malaysia store( available in India store for LG webos TV)

Yup... that is the reason why I think it is more of an App issue rather than Disney+Hotstar issue.
Because by default, for LG and Samsung TV user, the correspondng apps is not updated for our local region, instead, we are tapping India App to access the service. thus some mismatches are borne to happened.

I believe that if the App is updated by LG and Samsung (with the help of Disney+Hotstar) for Malaysia, then full support like 4K HDR and etc... will appears.
*
I believe that’s the responsibility of Disney+hotstar who develops the app instead of LG and Samsung?

Has anyone tried the "Astro IPTV Plug and Play" mode? You can switch to this mode by doing a factory reset.

It seems to work even on Unifi. It just streams all the channels via your internet line. Working with channel 780 and 781 as well. Satellite ch781 doesn't work for me normally since my high rise LNB not dCSS.
Edit: not all channels available, for example the fox movies channels
*
Quality doesn’t seem to be as good as satellite

Got blur when tune in to the channel for like 1 sec

Tried and it works! Thanks! I never though that ultrabox can exclusively operated with iptv mode even i’m not using maxis fibre at home. Currently I connect my ultrabox via lan cable to my unifi 500mbps router. Anyway, can i keep using this iptv mode permanently? For sure the rain fade issue will not happen with iptv mode. But one downside that I noticed is the picture quality takes about 2-3 seconds to stabilize into the correct resolution.

You should read the following post for more details about the IPTV plug and play mode

QUOTE(joshhd @ Jun 19 2021, 12:38 AM)
The VLAN of 823 (Linear TV) must to be enabled from TM's side, which they have to internally change that setting for your BTU (fibre modem), then only you can use it.
So if they didn't enable VLAN 823 for you, you don't even need to bother trying, cuz it definitely won't work. That Plug & Play mode will work on any Malaysia ISP, as long Internet is fast and stable (>10Mbps).

Starting from Ulti/Ultra Box version May 18 2021 21.1.4.24, you will be able to switch between STB Operating Modes only when you Restore Factory Settings (home>Settings>Reset>Restore Factory Settings>Default PIN 0000):

user posted image

OptionAlso technically known as:
IPTV Plug & Play (self-install) Unicast
SatelliteDTH (Direct-to-Home)
IPTV (for installer only) Multicast

In case you got lost or don't know how to change back to the original settings later on:
If you are using normal Astro (that connects to Astro satellite dish) or Astro & Broadband user, select "Satellite".
If you are an Astro IPTV user, select "IPTV (for installer only)"

Attention: Once you change to IPTV Plug & Play (self-install) mode, these list of channels below will "disappear" from your channel list, hence making you unable to access to the channel at all:

- Star Chinese Channel (315)
- Fox Movies (413)
- Fox Family Movies (414)
- Fox Action Movies (415)
- All Astro First & Astro Best channels (471-489)
- Sky News (514)
- ABC Australia (518)
- Nat Geo Wild (550)
- National Geographic (551)
- Baby TV (618)
- Fox Life (703)
- Fox (704)
- Nat Geo People (710)
- All digital radio channels (852-882)

To gain back access to these TV channels, you have to Restore Factory Settings again, and then select "Satellite" or "IPTV (for installer only)".
If you change some settings previously (e.g. default subtitle language, 5.1 audio,...), these are the main settings that will reset to default once you Restore Factory Settings, so do remember to change back to your previously preferred settings:

Languages
Audio: English
Subtitles: Bahasa Malaysia

Audio/Video
HDMI Audio: Stereo (PCM)
S/PDIF Audio: Stereo (PCM)
Audio Delay: 20ms

It seems to me that Astro have not publicly announce this mode yet, probably because the Plug & Play (Unicast) is still under testing, so do expect some issues or missing features/options here and there.
In the meantime, this will be the only workaround for Ultra Box users that wish to watch Euro 2020 in 4K UHD (CH 781/782) but the box is connected to a Universal LNB on the satellite dish, or building's centralise Astro dish that haven't upgrade to support Ultra Box (DCSS system).
Recommended >30Mbps speed required to smoothly stream 4K UHD channels/content.
