And yes, technically it is possible that you can login your Multiroom (Smart TV) account in different TV located at different house.
It uses a smart TV app, which you'll need to install the app on your smart TV (Samsung, LG, Sony & Sharp smart TVs). Do more research first before you make decision ya.

Also, according to their T&C, Astro's Multiroom is meant to be installed and use within the same premise.
If you wanna install/use it at different house, do it at your own risk, although it has been an open secret that some people do install and use it at different house anyway.

Let them do whatever they want, as long don't do extra things that can further impact customer experience negatively on its service.
Things like addressable advertising (specifically during On Demand streaming), purposely delay feed to slot-in/replace ads (in the name of adhere to country's censorship guidelines), video/audio quality, contract related matters, etc... 🙄

Please note that all streaming apps from Ultra/Ulti Box (except Netflix) will only output as Stereo audio. And also, maximum Full HD only (Netflix is up to 4K UHD).
Yes, that includes Disney+ Hotstar App on the Ultra Box.

And yes, you see "Dolby Digital" or "DD" on your soundbar or home theatre system the moment you launch the app on your Ultra Box (not even playing any content yet), and unfortunately from that point, the Dolby output from the Ultra Box is "fake" one.
Fake as in, only left and right speakers has sound, but centre speaker, surround left and surround right speakers has no sound.

It has been a known issue to me since forever. And it seems to me that probably because they don't want customers to complain that all streaming apps on Ultra/Ulti Box except Netflix doesn't support Dolby, so they "fake" the output as Dolby to trick you that you're listening to Dolby surround sound simply because your soundbar or home theatre system are showing the "Dolby Digital" or "DD" indicator.

If they're reading this and they think that I'm wrong about this, then I challenge them to go and fix it on the upcoming software update. 😠

Long story short, if you want to enjoy Dolby surround sound from Disney+ Hotstar, I'd suggest you to install the Disney+ Hotstar app on your Android TV (either box or dongle) and watch it from there instead of using Ultra/Ulti Box.

I wouldn't say whether are they a "cheater" or not la...
But to me, it's more like "they are not that proactive to check every single channel speakers". sweat.gif
As long has "Dolby Digital" indicator on home theatre, then it's a PASS ✅.

Unifi TV box uses Android TV OS. Since the Disney+ Hotstar app is running on Android TV, I don't think this issue would happen there.

TVB Jade (ch310) only has Stereo audio tracks, while Astro AOD (ch311) has both Stereo and Dolby 5.1 tracks.
Try go home>Settings>HDMI Audio, set it to "Stereo (PCM)" instead.

Then, when the broadcast feed resumes, I heard there's English audio commentary briefly for few seconds (sounds like the commentator is a Westerner), and then back to Malay audio commentary.

Now I wonder how come they didn't provide English commentary audio track option... hmm.gif

Yeah, if Astro slots-in this error card message, then it'll be visible to all viewers across various platforms, including satellite, Astro Go and Plug & Play.

Otherwise, look for volume normalisation related settings (e.g. Auto Volume) on your TV or soundbar or home theatre system, and then enable it.

No. You don't need Sports Pack to subscribe Liga Malaysia add-on. Any non-Sports pack customers can subscribe that add-on.

I went to CH200 earlier... Try WhatsApp the text "TLIGAKITA" to +60395433838 and see if it works.

Contact their live agent for assistance then. Attach the screenshot to them as well.

Even if there is duplicate/invalid charges, they'll waive for you one, so don't worry.

If you're saying that previously Platinum Pack's 24 month contract has over, hence you downgrade to Premium Pack 2 with 24 mths contract, and then now they arrange technician to come over and change from your Ultra Box to Ulti Box.

Is my understand correct?

Can you confirm, the first few letters of your Astro box the serial number right now, is it KHZ4 or PFH2?

As what I know, as long your package bundle includes Netflix, you should be getting Ultra Box.
And since you are already an Ultra Box user, they shouldn't issue another box for you, simply because you did a pack change.
If yes, then it seems like either the CS agent or their system triggered a wrong order creation.

The installer won't bother to know why you're getting what Ulti Box, cuz he's just doing whatever job tasks that the system (or the person-in-charge) is assigned to him.
And now you also don't know why you're getting Ulti Box, yet you still surrender your Ultra Box and let him install Ulti Box for you. sweat.gif

FYI, Ultra Box is already the "flagship" Astro box that they can offer you.
If I were you, and suddenly the installer came, wanting to change to Ulti Box (which is a downgrade from Ultra Box), I will stop the installer, tell him to cancel order, and probably contact customer service to clarify further on what's going on.

For your case, since it's already happened, then you got to tell contact customer service and tell them to assign installer to give you an Ultra Box. If can't be done, ask the reason.

Not surprised lor... The reason Ulti Box exists, is to allow Astro to save cost (supports up to Full HD) and give to those low-paying Astro customers, while Ultra Box has better specs and performance (supports 4K UHD), hence higher cost to manufacture and give to those high-paying customers.

I know you may not like to hear it, but it makes business sense. sweat.gif

IRE:403 or CRE:403 error on Astro Ulti / Ultra Box, what does it mean?

According to a reliable tipster of mine, whenever you see IRE:403 or CRE:403 error, it could mean that somehow your Astro box detects that either:
  • Your IP address may potentially not a Malaysia IP address.
  • Your ISP somehow assigned an IP address to you, where Astro doesn't recognise that IP address.
  • If you're on Static/Fixed IP address, then it could so happen that Astro doesn't recognise that IP address.
  • Your Astro box is connected over a VPN or proxy connection. If yes, then.... make sure the Internet connection to your Astro box doesn't go through VPN or proxy whatsoever. sweat.gif
And yes, this IRE:403 or CRE:403 issue would go away if you connect your Astro box's Internet connection to your mobile data connection (mobile hotspot).

If you encounter this error, do this:
  1. Press home>Settings>STB Diagnostics>Network Diagnostics
  2. Jot down the "Public IP" shown on that page.
  3. Now, power off both your Wi-Fi router and fibre modem. After about 10-15 minutes, power it on.
  4. Press home>Settings>STB Diagnostics>Network Diagnostics.

Is the "Public IP" appears differently now compared to you powering off the router & modem earlier?
If it's still the same, you can try reboot your router/modem again.
If it's different now, check if IRE:403 or CRE:403 issue persists. If it still persists, you can try reboot your router/modem again.

If issue persists even after doing the steps above, send email to wecare@astro.com.my

In the email, tell them issue persists even after done all the steps mentioned earlier, and mention these info:
  • Astro account personal details and Astro account number
  • Are you using Static or Fixed IP?
  • The "Public IP" shown on STB Diagnostics>Network Diagnostics page before and after you power off your router/modem earlier.
