i don't know which pack , because my dad the one who subscribed & install the astro for our family , yes 1st gen HD box byond -- need to cut down those cartoons channel due to my niece not interested with it anymore when ever they come to the house , ive got no idea on how to cut down those channel , not an astro expert here  devil.gif

Check the Astro bill first. You'll see which Astro pack you've subscribed now.
Or ask your dad la.

If you are on legacy packs, then you'll need to switch to the new packs by select a pack that are lower price than what you have now.

Today I can view all subscribe channel. Maybe Astro already fix my issue by changing Plug & Play mode to Satellite mode.
But I didn't receive any notice/email that my complain report before has been close or not.
*

Ah, that's good to hear biggrin.gif
Your Astro box remained as Satellite modes since the day you set it yourself, right? You told them you have an existing satellite dish, and you just connect to it, is it?
Eventually did Astro charge you any fees for changing from Plug & Play to satellite mode in their system?

No, I change to Plug & Play if I want to view channel. But before sleep I change back to Satellite mode.

You told them you have an existing satellite dish, and you just connect to it, is it?
Yeah, Astro technician that came to my house and change new transponder. He check signal and everything is good and he ask me to call CS to change my box to Satellite mode.

Eventually did Astro charge you any fees for changing from Plug & Play to satellite mode in their system?
Right now, still no notice from Astro whether I need to pay or not. CS person didn't told anything about fee during our phone conversation before. I will let you know if I need to pay a fee.

Actually I want to make an experiment. Try to change back to Plug & Play mode and see if any issue to view subscribe channel. After got the result I will change back to Satellite mode.  biggrin.gif

Can elaborate what you meant by "change new transponder"? Did the installer climb up to your roof and do something on your satellite dish? Or he just configure some Satellite settings on your Astro box, and left?

This one shouldn't be a problem. But do share with us on the outcome.

Sorry my mistake, not transponder.  notworthy.gifThat technician actually change new LNB to my satellite dish and check signal strength on my Ultra box.
After that he perform software update by pressing home button on the remote control during bootup and he use Satellite mode as method of installation.
And like I told before, his presence does not solve the problem.
*

Eh, change new LNB? hmm.gif Did the installer let you keep your old LNB, or he took it with him?

Now if you press home>Settings>Satellite Settings>LNB Setup, what is your "LNB Type" setting now? Is it "DCSS" or "Universal"?

Can confirm that you are currently not getting the "Switch to Continuous Viewing" or "Services Currently Not Available" message for these channels below:
CH122, CH124, CH305, CH549, CH805

I can view all this channel. But can pause for CH122, CH124, CH305 only. UHD channel like CH549, CH805 cannot record and pause.
*

What you mean "can pause for CH122, CH124, CH305 only"? Are you getting "Switch to Continous Viewing" message for these channels?

Since the beginning till now, Astro's UHD channels cannot be recorded and "live pause".

BTW, why UHD channel cannot be recorded? Is it because broadcasting rights?
*

I believe it is because it will be costly for Astro to support cloud recording and live pause for UHD channels.
And plus, you've experienced intermittent buffering on Plug & Play when streaming Full HD channel (recommended speed 10Mbps), imagine if it's UHD channel (recommended speed 30Mbps)... sweat.gif

Astro will direct customers to stream selected 4K UHD content via On Demand instead.

Having same doubt

Those "pure" astro only...

No whatever crap fiber attached with astro account...

Kena 6% or 8%

Money money money...
*

I believe Astro is considered as a telecommunication service, and most likely stick to the same 6% as it is.

As I check on what are the ongoing live matches that could likely lead to this, then it seems to me that it's the 2023 Merdeka Tournament (Pestabola Merdeka 2023), the Malaysia vs India match.

Due to this, they're being nice by providing a "fallback" backup service where you can continue stream Live TV channels for free biggrin.gif

I thought I’m the only one having this issue. Tried to sign in to my Android TV numerous times to stream Pestabola Merdeka, it constantly signed out instantly.

BTW thanks man for giving the link, until then, we’re all can stream Astro’s premium sports channels for FREE.
*

Hmm... Sooka has deleted the post, where it apologises about some technical issues, and then provided the Sooka fallback URL.

Am I the only one that thinks that this Sooka has been experiencing numerous times of outages over the past few months, especially when there is a big match going on? hmm.gif

Logically speaking, it should be who wants the channel to be on Astro platform...
Whoever wants it, shall pay for it. And now apparently Astro made a last minute U-turn.
So it's safe to guess that the party that wants the channel to be on Astro, has reached to an agreement to remain the channel as it is.

Mhmm, whenever got server down, sure because of some big live sports match.
As check, it seems that Malaysia vs Tajikistan - Merdeka Cup 2023 (Pestabola Merdeka 2023) Finals is the culprit...
Sooka's reputation is going downhill unsure.gif

Why Astro always announce on upgrading its system during midnight?  What improvement is that?
*

They have been doing this never ending maintenance for so long already, yet I don't see any improvement that benefit customers also, so.... 🤷
QUOTE(izwanikhsan @ Oct 18 2023, 06:11 AM)
Why is that for local channels, they have to pay Astro to keep their channels on Astro platform but for international channels, it is the other way around?
*

I guess the logic is: Siapa nak, dia bayar.

Hi guys currently I'm using the old satellite decoder, if I want to change now which box do should I get?
I need:
1. Still need the satellite funtion. If box have WiFi that's just a bonus.
2.4k resolution
*

Which Astro package you're on now? If not sure, check your Astro bill or logon to https://myastro.astro.com.my/
I remember they are having a campaign where selected existing customers eligible to upgrade to the new box, either would it be free installation or not, or has contract or not, it depends on which Astro package you're on now.

The current Astro box models are Ulti Box and Ultra Box. Both has built-in WiFi.
The biggest difference between the two is, Ulti Box is smaller and supports max 1080p, Ultra Box is slightly bigger and it supports max 4K UHD (2160p) resolution and Dolby Atmos.

If you still want to continue using Satellite, make sure you specifically tell that agent that you want Satellite, not Plug & Play.
Otherwise, they might select your box upgrade installation method as Plug & Play without telling you.

Thanks for replying. So both box's have satellite capabilities just have to tell them you want it with satellite???
*

Yes.
And you want 4K UHD also, right? Then remind them that you want Ultra Box, not Ulti Box.
Then the agent will advise you accordingly.

Hi, I received my Ulti Box today and set it up. Next thing I knew, I received an email from Astro saying 'Thank you for your Apps order".

I don't remember placing any order for this. I was repeatedly assured by the Astro rep on the phone that my bill will not change after changing to the wi-fi box. Does anyone know what this is?
*

Can show a screenshot of how that email look like?
Also, which pack did you subscribe to?

Yes. According to their statement, they say that 80% of total viewership are coming from satellite TV.
In that context, it is referring to Astro.

Which is not surprising sweat.gif
