QUOTE(axoloke @ May 23 2023, 10:08 PM) Same as my previous package, legacy pack with rebate. But my pack is the Super Pack 3 previously, so it's over RM 100. So my offer is for the monthly rebate and upgrade to the Ultra Box. Unfortunately, that Ultra Box is really buggy. Can describe more on where/how does the buggy part look like on your Ultra Box? Besides Disney+ Hotstar that you mentioned earlier, what else? Actually, I went to the Customer Service Center first, then the next day Astro HQ called me. Not sure if it was due to the visit or was a coincidence. If you call the support line, I think you can request a callback from the Termination dept. I wanna see if it's similar like what I've experiencing also. I went to the Customer Service Center first, then the next day Astro HQ called me. What information did you gave them when you visit the customer service centre? Account number? Phone number? Or what? |

QUOTE(xxxgkssixxx @ May 23 2023, 10:59 PM) You're on Wah Pack (also known as Value Pack 3), right? No other addons, right? Your monthly package subscription is lower than RM100, right? In that case, you're not eligible for the "free Ulti Box upgrade with no contract" offer. More info on this current offer here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry107258886 To upgrade box, you must switch to the new packs first. QUOTE(axoloke @ May 24 2023, 10:16 AM) Hmm, the Disney+ one is the major one, but I noticed other apps in the list may not launch correctly as well. The Dolby sound passthrough is what I consider a bug as well. Besides that, small minor things like sometimes I goto a particular Settings page or menu, and it auto exits out. Other annoyances (not strictly bugs); when I goto a channel, previously the channel info will show the current show, and also the next show after the time slot, now it only shows the current show info. I have to use the Up Down arrow to scroll through the channel list as it shows the next slot there.Other annoyances (not strictly bugs); when I goto a channel, previously the channel info will show the current show, and also the next show after the time slot, now it only shows the current show info. I have to use the Up Down arrow to scroll through the channel list as it shows the next slot there. No clock on the box display Just had the box for a few days, so not enough time to see if there are any further issues currently For the Customer Service Center, they asked me for my account number / IC. Said will register for rebate etc. But the next day Astro HQ called and said there's no order number created, so HQ will immediately do so instead. So I don't know if the Center actually did anything or it got referred to another dept / termination dept at the Astro HQ. They made such change, is to make the UI look cleaner, simpler and modern. But of course, that might also include sacrificing some of the "conveniences" that we used to have, including no longer able to view what's the next programme name when channel zapping, unless pressing up/down button for 3 programme thumbnails to appear. Or even, Astro will just tell you to go to TV Guide and see a more detailed EPG. No clock on the box display No clock at the front panel of the box = save a little bit of cost Plus, they'll assume that people will eventually get used to not having clock/channel number display on front panel anyway. For the Customer Service Center, they asked me for my account number / IC. Said will register for rebate etc. Ah yea lor... They note down your account contact details, so that their customer retention team will contact you back. Normal lah. Based on my experience, they won't offer you rebate out of nowhere unless there is something that triggers them (e.g. you plan to terminate Astro). |

Received email. Stupid lah. I have 2 TVs in 2 homes for weekday and weekend (rented or owned is not the issue here). Both are MY RESIDENCES, with the exact same occupants. So now I'm getting charged additional eventhough only using either TV at any point in time? QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ May 24 2023, 05:30 PM) I'm at tail end of chat with Netflix custcare. i don't think the agent truly grasp that i am concerned about possibility of being charged extra for having 2 TVs in 2 homes that are invariably owned and occupied by the exact same nuclear family. he/she shifted between (i) "people not in your household will need to sign up for their own account to watch", (ii) "or in many countries you can buy an extra member slot to add an extra member to your account", or (iii) along the line of "you need to set primary household as you shift places". on that last point, he/she said i can change primary location as often as i need to; he/she denied when asked possibility of lockout period or penalty for doing it so often. BUT, i can't use devices at both location at same time, which makes sense in order not to trip fussy detection algorithm or lockdown. and, maaaaaan, having to routinely perform primary location tagging twice a week.... also, i asked if that "2 weeks grace period per year" that is granted to "temporary" login at new locations (like hotel room or your aunty adeline's) is also applicable to my situation, he/she said to have no information regarding it. and, since i'm on Astro billing (third-party billing in Netflix' lingo), i can't really add extra member if wanted to. that means if i fuck up the primary household tagging or stuck at one house after being prevented from switching so, ..... QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ May 24 2023, 05:41 PM) and i'm not even sharing with outsiders, ffs, netflix! both are my TVs! both are my residence! Maybe try setup Netflix Household? haih..... truly an ASTRO-fied treatment. the same don't-care-if-it's-really-just-you-alone-in-both-house-still-need-to-subscribe-separately. https://soyacincau.com/2023/05/24/netflix-e...same-household/ QUOTE With your Netflix Household set up, Netflix will use information such as IP addresses, device IDs and account activity to determine whether a device signed into your account is part of your Netflix Household or not. The streaming platform adds that they do not collect GPS data to determine your precise location however. It should also be noted that if you have multiple WiFi networks at home, they may only associate one of them to your Netflix Household. As such, if you watch Netflix at home with different ISP accounts or with different IP addresses, you may be asked to verify that device again. I saw someone posted photos like these on the Internet, saying that they start seeing this message when launching Netflix app on their TV. Meanwhile, if you have not set up your Netflix Household, the streaming platform will automatically set one for you based on the aforementioned IP address, device ID and account activity history. You’ll always be able to update your Netflix Household from a TV later on anyway if the automatically set up TV isn’t the one you prefer. Lastly, if you don’t watch Netflix on a TV or if you don’t have one, their FAQ page claims that you won’t need to set up a Netflix Household for your account. They did not however specify if this means Netflix will automatically set it for you or not. They also did not specify what happens if a Netflix Household account user streams content away from home, but based on previous reports it’s understood that as long as you use the same primary WiFi connection once every 31 days the device will be deemed a trusted device. ![]() So it seems that their priority right now is mostly targeting those who logins the same Netflix account on different TVs across different homes... for now. |

QUOTE(muscaa @ May 26 2023, 11:49 AM) According to Astro website, all termination request require 30 days notice period. So it has to be within 30 days before your actual billing date, and termination will be carried out according to your bill cycle day. Of course, you don't so last minute inform them laa, like less than 3 days before billing date, who knows later they'll say cannot terminate with the excuse of "too last minute"... QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ May 28 2023, 10:18 AM) Mine was scheduled for auto-renewal in April. SMS reminder only in March - consider yourself reminded and informed that it is about to happen. You already consented to renewing when signing up for new plan; they don't need you to consent again. You need to counter in the 30 days leading to renewal date. NOT after renewal had happened, which your wallet surely going to get demolished by ASTRO. QUOTE(linkinstreet @ May 28 2023, 11:34 AM) The auto contract renewal is mainly applicable if your subscription has the new TV packs. The moment you sign up or switch to the new packs, it means you are deemed consent on that auto contract renewal rule. Let's say now you're on the 23rd out of the 24th month of the contract period, and you don't want anymore contract afterwards. Then you'll need to inform this to their customer service, and then you'll have to pay the pack price of 0 month contract from the 25th month onwards. Example: Premium Pack 1 24 month contract price: RM129.99 per month 0 month contract price: RM154.99 per month The price difference for their new packs between 24 months to 0 month contract period is up to RM25 per month. You'll receive a SMS reminder 1 month before the auto contract renewal kicks in. |

Thats why many ppl hate them due to this under hand tactics and think ppl stooopeeed. Haiz. Sooka is not bad and maybe their only saving grace. As what I know, it is part of their SOP to inform customer about auto contract renewal upon agree to sign up or switch to the new packs. If it is proven that the agent that attended you during the sign up/switch to new pack did not tell you about auto contract renewal, then that agent will be screwed. |

QUOTE(shinchan5347 @ Jun 7 2023, 07:57 PM) Ultra Box supports 4K, meaning you'll be able to enjoy 4K UHD quality content (provided if you're watching a 4K shows) through Ultra Box. Currently there's 2 UHD channels on Astro, which is Love Nature (CH549) and Astro SuperSport UHD (CH805, Sports Pack required). Ulti Box doesn't support 4K and it supports up to Full HD quality only. If you're just watching Full HD content, then there's no difference in picture quality between the two boxes. |

Unless, if you topup another RM5.99 for Astro GO+, then it upgrades you to 4 concurrent devices streams, and also 1500 hours of cloud recording storage (compared to 200 hours by default). In case you don't know, Astro's cloud recording means you can use it to record TV channels, and you can watch your shows again on Astro box and across your devices (Astro Go app). But do note that the cloud recordings doesn't store forever, and it will auto delete once the validity expires, which is up to 1 year from the date of recording. |
