Happy new year everyone...

As DIVA and E! channel ceases on 1 Jan, so many Astro customers asking the same question. This is the official reply from Astro:
For those who just came here and still not aware what happened:

Like it or not, it is the channel provider's decision (NBC Universal, that operates DIVA and E! channels) to cease the channels across South East Asia. So not only Astro are affected, even pay TVs from other SEA countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand are affected too. So in other words, Astro can't do anything also. It's not that Astro want it to cease also.
So, do your research first before you blame Astro for any channel cessation.
Comedy Central is their decision as a channel replacement for DIVA and E!.
Yes I know, 2 channels in exchange into only 1, while still same package rates. You're not the only one complain about this, and this is not the first time Astro doing this too. And it's no point even you complain to whichever parties, like MCMC for example.
In Astro T&C, they are not committed and obligated to replace any channels that are being ceased for whatever reasons. So when Astro decides to bring Comedy Central channel, you can actually assume that this is simply just their act of goodwill.

If you're not happy, feel free to terminate Astro as long you have no outstanding contracts.
And, you need to give a 30 days advance notice to Astro that you want to terminate. So you can't just terminate it with immediate effect just because you want it now.

Hahahaha... How I wish I'm a spokesman from Astro, cuz I'll confirm bash them for causing so much other unnecessary problems to customers.

Btw the statement is shown on the official comments from Astro's Facebook page, so I just quote it over here.

"Aiyooo... My job is so stress. So many customer wants Ultra Box. So many things are piling up my desk.
...Still need to call customer to arrange for date appointment? Aiya, simply assign one date and time la. If customer complain, let other department handle it.
...Boss want me to faster settle all outstanding appointment for the Ultra Box upgrade requests, so I simply assign whichever is available to get things done quick.
...I want to go home 😥😥😥 I miss my family and my bed."

I think that explains the mysterious date and time for the installation appointment, without your consent.
Haiz, I feel so sad for Astro laa...

If you're working in Astro and you're reading this (I dunno la, just guessing) and you feel stressed due to work related tasks, you got to voice out to someone you can trust.
Keep everything to yourself would worsen the situation in the long run, to both yourself and the company/department. Here you go, joshhd cares. smile.gif

Happy New Year to all.

With the start of the New Year, Starhub is starting the trend of dropping channels to cut cost: &TV (India feed), Zee TV HD (India feed), Good Times and Zee News together with ceased channels E! And DIVA.

meanwhile, Singtel also dropped News 18 (International feed) together with E! and DIVA.

Those Hindi channels offer in Starhub and Singtel TV, are all India feed? Meaning if the programme ad says the following programme starts at 7.00PM, so you need to add 2 hours 30 minutes by yourself, and that programme starts at 9:30PM Singapore local time. Is it like this?

Currently, which are the Indian channels on both Starhub and Singtel TV are on original India feed, and not the Asia Pacific/International feed?

Astro call me becoz their technician fails to install the ultrabox, as the current dish is more then 15m from TV.
now they offer : (1) to install booster cost RM160, however I opted to change (2) the dish location which cost RM65.

From conversation they seem to agree that changing dish location will make the system more reliable then installing booster.

Hopefully this resolve the issue and I can start using the ultra system now

I've just called Astro to reschedule it to a date/time that is suitable and sure enough, they mentioned: "other department" ranting.gif bangwall.gif , and they left a note to the technician about the reschedule.

for confirmation, they said that the technician would call 1 day before or 1 hour before. 🤔, what happens the technician suddenly show up without calling for confirmation

ASTRO, please learn for him. bruce.gif

We (as a customers) pay for the subscriptions, so we are the part of the shareholders. cool2.gif
This is NO WAY to hide if any issued, OR the way push here push there.

Respect you again. notworthy.gif

By the way, no wonder I cannot watch Comedy channel since it's variety pack..
Haizz... Nowadays channel's provider also hard to survive.

Best part its cheaper online, for RM15 you get All Access and can watch on 5 devices,on astro u pay for just one channel! This is why many providers go online instead.Using satelite is too expensive and maybe one day all astro wl have is In House Rojak cool2.gif

Guys, nowadays can we randomly choose whatever channel we want and subcribe?

My current Astro full pack is going to terminated soon (share with 3 ppl) so i have to resubscribe if i want to continue. The problem is, i only watch some Chinese package, children + sport, bundle pack seems don't have such flexibility.

I can't go for Astro Go or online pack due to the slow internet connection i had. I can reuse my existing satellite facility.

What happen ah? If they show up and you're not at home (for example), then they'll just move on to next following appointment at other customer's premise, and then put a remark on their system that says "No one at home, no one attend to the installer."

Done.

If you're at home and they came unexpectedly, then your business lah. "You want them to proceed with the installation now or not? Since I came here already. If yes, then open the door let us in."
"If you don't want, then your problem la. We'll come other time."

Done.

The one that has ceased on Astro is called Zee Variasi, not Zee TV... Don't confuse oh...
Well, it's not that they didn't think about customer.
In this industry, if it's financially not supportive, you'll have to find ways to reduce/minimise the damage.
And it might till the point that, they'll cease it, and then continue offering content elsewhere, like in OTT services.

If the people in Astro explain the way like how I explain, then Astro can close shop already.
Astro hire CS agent is to help customer, and at the same time, earn some profit from customer's needs. For me is, I am too honest till the point that can cause Astro to lose money.
"When doing business, you cannot be too honest."

But Astro is so dishonest, till the point the CS agent just follow whatever is being instructed by its superiors and leaders. From there, you can see their passive type of working culture already.
"Oh, no one inform me about it. So I say I don't know la. Case closed."
"No memo given by the management, so not my problem. You can't blame me, I'm just a customer service agent."
"Other department handle that case, so my system here cannot check."
"I don't have the authority to explain further. I'm not sure why that happens." As if like other CS agents in the company all go holiday already. Cannot ask someone that knows it, and get a prompt response?

We customer, we just pay their monthly fees only... Their stakeholders could invest up to millions. Of course they are the big boss, and Astro are afraid of them more than customers do.
When you see customers are unhappy because of 1 or 2 of their favourite channels are being ceased, even if it's not Astro's decision, and they feel like wanna terminate the service,
for sure the Customer Retention Specialist will come sit down and drink tea with you, talk nicely to convince you and eventually stay on their service, by providing offers that nobody has heard of, as a way to counter offer you. Out of the blue, suddenly they become your best friend already.
Hah, last time you don't care about customer's feedbacks and needs, now when they want to terminate the service, then only you start to cry.
Cry not enough. Still want to make customer's life harder somemore. Especially with "must return equipment by walk in to Astro centres, or else pay hefty penalty". Not like that?
"Oh, want us to collect the equipment and dismantle your satellite dish? Pay us another fee for that. After all, the installer drive to your house also need petrol, and they want to feed their family also."
So rather than Astro paying them money to feed their family, better you pay for it instead. "Why should we fork out extra expenses to customer that is going to terminate our service?"
I mean, logically, I'm not wrong, isn't it? If you would do a business, how would you handle this?
Is money more important, or customer's satisfactory is more important? Astro be like: Of course money. No money no talk.
Never mind. They got nothing to lose, since Astro has over 5.7 million customers and growing, and it's we're too small for them to see this.
1 customer not happy, terminate la..

It is true that consumer behaviour change too fast in these recent years. Too fast till the point the industry can't catch up, cuz they think their customer base is stable.
By the time they catch up, it's either too late already or they'll have a hard time to catch up. That's the reality in the media industry...

And plus, with their world class customer service like that, what else can I say? unsure.gif
It's just an isolated case, you say? Sounds like you're trying to convince me that Astro's customer service has nothing wrong.

All 3 including yours are going to terminate? Ask your friend or relative to see if they can tumpang you, by asking them to add Multiroom. Need to plan carefully lah ya...

Do note that if you start a new account subscription, you'll get 12/24 months contract too. If terminate within contract period, penalty will be charged.

Here you go. These are the latest list of all packages and channels available. Click/tap the picture below to view bigger.

I'm not from Astro, I don't work for Astro, so don't come and PM me to process new application for you lol... 🤣🤣
But me, as an Astro fan, I can advice you on the packages stuff la.

First of all, what's your monthly budget?
You said Chinese package, it depends which Chinese channels you want to watch.
Children channels, as in Nick, Disney, Cartoon Network all those? If yes, then it's under Mini package called Kids.
For Starter and Value Pack category, each of any Mini pack costs RM12/month as what you can see on the picture above.
