U don't like?
Move towards those India providers...

The big dish one... Direct from India Feed..
400 channels if I'm not mistaken... Multiple language available... Watch until u vomit blood πŸ€£πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

Nope nope nope. Their installation fee is choking us. RM1000+ just to install. Plus heard its illegal. Adding more some might just report that thing. I'd rather sit here rotting than talking the risk.

Idk what's happening. Like the movies are already being aired to an "almost HD" quality ... Still its taking some delays ... Sad πŸ˜”. Also why Astro Vellithirai not available in astro go?

I looking for "IR Blaster app" options, of people who had tested successful with Astro PVR/UltraBox lah doh.gif

Who tested these and can share their experience....
*
Assuming you're an Android user like most of us, yes there is an app called Astro Remote where it uses an IR Blaster (if you have it in your phone). Usually all Xiaomi phones come with the IR Blaster. Additionally, Xiaomi phones have have their native remote control app called Mi Remote. On the latest version, the support for Astro is also available though some keys are missing.

Bear in mind that your phone should have the IR Blaster in order for these apps to work. If you don't have an IR Blaster yet want to explore ways to use remote from phone then consider installing the Astro app (not Astro Go). In the app you'll find an option called remote control. Make sure to connect your phone and the Decoder to the same network for it to work.

..........................

K now my issue ... When will Assteruk bring Vellithirai HD and atleast another new channel for us Indians πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜” ...

The myAstro app doesn’t work with the ultra box but works with the PVR box hmm.gif

Didn’t know that xiaomi added support for Astro decoder on their app
*
I worked great for me on the PVR Box using the Astro app ( though I don't use it often). I'm unsure why it didn't work for Ultra. I'm a PVR user. The Xiaomi app before this didn't have the support for Astro decoders as it only supoorted mainly China payTV only. Lately they were added.

Another worst part is that Astro Vellithirai began dropping back to its crappy stretched resolution few days back. Just when u thought they gonna upgrade that they just roll back all ads and shows to its stretched form. Haiiiih bloody hell la Astro.

Any updates on the status of CH202? Is the promised upgrade to HD before Deepavali still relevant?

Since astro is lately very rajin ceasing channels and dont give anything as a proper replacement, consider ceasing Makkal TV CH 203, Chutti TV CH213. Just give less channels we are too rich we can pay more for less. Also if possible halt the entire PVR decoder. Who needs HD when I can see blurry signal transmission that puts an amazing fog effect in all channels. Labyu Astero. Muah. Bring more popup channels so can put more ads.

They can bring up multiple in-house channels but will never upgrade channels as they promised. Yep I'm talking about Astro Awani, Astro Vellithirai etc. These channels will never see HD feed anytime soon. Also if only astro could bring back some good channels that they abruptly ceased it would be great. The Zee Tamil channel is an utter flop even in India itself due to its "copy pasted" content from Star Vijay. Why is Astro doing thiiiisss πŸ˜”πŸ˜”πŸ˜” ...

They could have brought KTV Tamil ... they didn't.
Could have given Vellithirai HD ... they didn't.
Could have retained Raj TV and start HD feed ... they didn't.
Could have focused more on Astro Awani HD ... they didn't.
Could have ceased Makkal TV ... they didn't.

And now they being Ta-Daa laa Wo-Hoo laa .. adeihh if only there's unifi here. One agent came here and said there's coverage here but then immediately says the port full. Hayooo pain in the a** la. So have to be stuck with a 2nd hand PVR box that lags for God knows why.

Since the SD channel will be ceased, Vinmeen HD should just rebranded as Vinmeen only. The same thing with Quan Jia. Velithirai, will it be upgrade to HD? God knows when.. πŸ˜‚
*
They should really consider removing Makkal TV and find a replacement channel for it. For astro Vellithirai it's still a mystery on why they went back to show everything in SD. There were promising factors back in November where the SD contents seem HD, but then they rolled back to showing crappy resolution.

Not sure if HD is nearing, but the movies and ads lately adapted to HD aspect ratio mostly.

Guys wanna ask, the Astro + Broadband thingy uses the fibre modem or the SIM Card one. Apparently my area they installed the fibre cable ard January and till date unifi is 'masih x tersedia'. Tried contacting the agent, he said port full, but no one ard the DP installed unifi. Pening laa. So if Astro's one comes with the 4G Modem then good la.

Too hyper till double post 🀣

Anyway...
Why sudden change...
I think previous mentioned same number can have 2 standards ie HD for astro sub & SD for Njoi???

And the number also seems like odd..
*
That's why. I mean they could have just retained with the same numbers and transmit both SD n HD. Why the new addition tho? It seems counterproductive after what astro have been doing lately. Xkan wanna add more SD kot.

Astro TVIQ, in  16:9??? Are they trying to give me a heart attack? πŸ™‚
Original:

This is how it looks like on your 16:9 HD TV:
user posted image
Screenshot above are captured on 24-5-2021 at 9PM on Astro TVIQ channel via Astro Go platform.

Note: The subtitles on Astro Go displays as 16:9 aspect ratio only on Astro Go platform.
If you watch the TV channel on your Astro box (TV platform), the aspect ratio of the subtitle will be 4:3 for Astro TVIQ channel, and it'll look stretched if you're watching on 16:9 HD TV.

List of remaining Astro in-house SD channels that is still transmitted in native 4:3 aspect ratio format
- Astro TVIQ
- Astro Tutor TV UPSR
- Astro Tutor TV PT3
- Astro Tutor TV SPM
- Astro AOD 352
- Astro AOD 353
- Astro AOD 354
- Astro AOD 355
- iNjoi (Channel 140, only available for Njoi viewers)

The "user interface" of the channel, channel logo, commercials and channel ident of those channels, is still in the same 4:3 aspect ratio.
What they did is, they make all 16:9 content to appear as Fit to screen, so that you won't see the letterbox (black bars on top and bottom of the screen, as photo above).
However, sometimes that rule doesn't apply to all programmes. You can assume that the broadcast team "overlooked" that.  nod.gif

Wait Astro Vellithirai is in 16:9? It looks like a lost child swinging between 4:3 and 16:9 haha. Astro when u gonna give us this thing πŸ˜”
