I'm using Android phone, no issues on my end.
What phone model are you using?

Probably not helpful but, have you tried restart your phone?
As what I know, Ultra Box didn't specifically mention any support of WPA3, and I don't set my home WiFi network as "WPA3 only", so I'm not able to comment on that.
Any major concerns if you'd configure your route's WiFi network as mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode?

Previously was using a Lan cable but it seems to have damaged.
Perhaps, have you try look around your house for LAN cable, especially those LAN cable included from the box packaging of your older/previous WiFi-related devices and routers.
Otherwise, why not buy new one? It's not expensive anyway.
*
The installation paper that came with the Ultra box mentions support for AX .. which is a Wifi 6 standard. Also my prev LAN cable is actually 12 meters in length thats why I thought of using WiFi for a moment. Cat 7 patch cable is bit pricey (yes ik Cat 6a is sufficient but I just like to future proof my networks). Just odd why Astro mentions AX support in the paper but the box doesn't do so.

Mixed mode seem to not work too tho.

For me, my WiFi router supports WiFi 6, and the network is on mixed WPA2/WPA3 encryption (there's no option for WPA3 only in the settings), and my Ultra Box still able to connect the WiFi network without issues, so I think the issue you're facing is probably something else?

Have you made sure that your WiFi frequency channel is not heavily interfered/clashed by your neighbour's WiFi network's frequency channel?
What other settings did you change on your router? MAC address filter? DHCP settings? You tried reboot both the WiFi router and your Ultra Box as well, right?

You mentioned that you're using TP-Link Archer A53 router, and you face this issue... I assume you changed new router, is it?
Then how about your previous WiFi router? All along working fine?
Are you not able to connect both 2.4GHz and 5GHz from your WiFi router, or which either one?

Previously how did you get your Ultra Box connected to the Internet? Since the user manual of your Ultra Box stated that the Ethernet port is only 10/100Mbps, then why not just use back your existing LAN cable? I don't think there's a need to buy a CAT7 cable for that.

If you've exhausted all steps and issue persists, you can try perform clear NVRAM on your Ultra Box as a last resort.
So many ways to troubleshoot, you figure out one by one la. sweat.gif

I performed a factory reset after a firmware update on the router to make sure things run smooth. But then, the issue I face exist since last year as well. For some reason the box just won't connect to my Wifi. To make sure it isn't a box issue, I tried to connect Astro with my mobile hotspot and it worked. So I guess Astro has not added support for WPA3 for now. Also I'm staying in a kampung area where there isn't much of channel interference in my router.

Both 2.4, and 5 ... Neither will connect. Odd.

Guess I have to order another cable.

I’m on the basic pack (RM70+) and I don’t qualify for the free ultra box upgrade but I’m willing to pay extra for the ultra box since you told me it’s more stable.
*
Wait is the free box upgrade campaign still on? You should be getting the box changed for free ... However you might not qualify for an Ultra box.

Nevertheless, if you're willing to pay, they SHOULD be able to give u an Ultrabox. Not sure who said u can't get them. I think maybe because you mentioned upgrade they thought you're asking to jump from an old box direct to Ultra. Try visiting the nearest Astro store. You'll pay slightly higher for Ultra box installation but then you're good to go.

@JoshHD feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey guys,

I'm in a bit of confusion here. Recently Astro called my sister to inform that her rebates are ending in August (means contract also tamat la). They offered her a package where she says they offer Astro Sports + 100MB (free upgrade) for RM189.75. I asked her to skip for the moment and did my own calculation as below.

Suppose she sub to AO Sports @ 99.99 and 100MBPS for RM60(Promo price shown in MyAstro app), doesn't that add up to RM169.60 + tax 6%?

Why was the agent price high?

Currently my sis is using Astro Sports Pack (the one on 2021) + Kids + Ind Fav & Astro 50Mbps @ 90.

Rebates include (-20 for package, -24 for internet, both ending August) ... Now shes paying RM196.05 + tax.

Are there any better option? Looking to lower the bill and getting this quote of just a few bucks less is sad tbh.

Regardless if you subscribe Astro Fibre right now or after your current contract ends, you will still get a fresh new 24 months contract for your Astro subscription, and it starts from the day of installation.

If subscribe to apps (i.e. Netflix), then you'll see something like 'Reverse charges' on the bill. Prorated charges will start from the day you subscribe until your billing date.
If remove apps (i.e. Netflix), then no proration at all.

Eh really? I am currently settling my sister's package. The agent advised me to remain in the Sport Pack (2021) and I actually wanted to upgrade the Astro Fibre to 100MBPS (previously on 50Mbps as the package was not eligible for the speed upgrade during that time). I asked the agent and they said if I choose to remain in the old pack there won't be any contract (basically out of contract laa altho the app shows the auto renewed period). As for the fibre only they said will renew to 24m as I am technically upgrading the speed. (I made the upgrade via app as she got RM60 for 100Mbps PROMO; which for some reason was never offered at first by agents themselves.)

Now I'm just waiting for them to make changes to the Sport Pack (remove all add on like Kids, Ind Fav, and remain only Sports and Base)

The fibre not sure the progress as they asked to call in 2 days to 'confirm' (idk the procedure but for now ill just wait for Astro Fibre team to call and confirm the change).

Hi joshhd,

Current pack is Namma Pack+Sports Pack and Multi room. When I called earlier in Aug, there was once they offered RM120+ with tax with no contract but I could not confirm but subsequently when I called in Sept no such offer was made. I'm not sure if I'm asking for the right options. I called 03-95433838. They instead ask to cancel multi room which not an option for the 2 elderly folks that need both decoders to ensure a peaceful time of not arguing which channel to watch smile.gif.

Any advise would be great as it's too much to pay for limited use.

Hey I'm a Namma Pack + Sports Pack user too with no contract. If you're really looking into lowering yr bill you can just tell them that you'd like to lower bill as its slightly above yr budget. For my case when I proposed to change to AO Sports, they actually advised me to stay with the old pack and offered me a retention rebate for the next 2 years with no contract extension. Now im paying RM105.84.

I'm still confused on most of the agent's "Deepavali Promo" .. like what actually changed here? The price, installation fee is still the same as before. Can someone enlighten me on this

I think the poster is from the sale agent, not directly from Astro. There's no announcement of Deepavali promotion on its official website. Only countdown to 10 10 sale.

The Epic Pack they priced at 100-ish .. is that perpetual or are there any hidden tnc

LOL.
Since Deepavali is around the corner, hence sales agents would do this to create the hype to target Indians, as this could potentially produce more sales.

From what I see, keywords like "Deepavali Promotion 10 days only" creates a sense of urgency and to attract your attention, especially towards potential new customers. If more customers signs up during this "Deepavali week", then it'll look good on either that sale agent's KPI, or that sale agent's team KPI, or both. Also, more commission too.

Now that you posted this thing here, it means they've successfully captured your attention. So, good job to the sales agent? biggrin.gif
Actually, it's just their ongoing Astro One: Entertainment Pack RM49.99 offering, with the same installation fee and so on.

And even so, it's meant to target new sign ups, not for existing customers to see.
For existing customers like all of us here, Astro would rather want you to "stay where you are" than switching to Astro One packs.

EDIT: Also, that guy on the poster looks like AI-generated rather than an actual person 🤭

It just feels like a tactic to fool people by selling a package as it is as a 'promo' package. Sick move tbh.
