QUOTE(joshhd @ May 16 2024, 01:28 AM) Yes. There's no such thing as "Malay Favourites" since Astro introduced its new packs back in Nov 2021. Thank DoubleM2 and joshhd.Since then and till today, all Malay general entertainment channels are already part of Primary Pack. Only for those who interested in Indonesian content, may opt for Indonesian Favourites as their Asian Favourites selection (or as an standalone add-on). Chinese Favourites is so far the only Asian Favourites that Astro discontinued it. I see, maybe my memory not good Didn't really keep track, just that last time when subscribe, I think there is like emperor or jade for chinese, then maybe 1 or 2 indian channel options, and also some mustika package to choose from for malay, oh... and there is also korea option as well Haha... maybe is way way way back then. Anyway. thanks for explaining, maybe not relevant anymore now. So basically most Malay and Chinese channesl are bundled and pack as basic. That's good actually. doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(pokemon @ May 16 2024, 11:39 PM) I think they will as it is just legacy and they will honour it, or at least until a new package is introduce.Just my thinking, because generally for sports, they don't differentiate football out, yet. At least for the time being. They had separate out wrestling, rugby and golf. So unless they come up with a new way to separate out the football package which I think may be a mess, so until then they will honour the package .... doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(pokemon @ May 17 2024, 12:04 PM) Then better sport package customers to complaint for rebate because customers paying RM9.99 can enjoy sport package customers paying RM42.99. But that package is no longer available for subscription right. It only available to those that subscribe back then before the cut off date. For those that already on the sport package, they cannot downgrade that easily due to contract back then and nobody know that their subscription will enable the full sport package.Difference of RM33 is quite big. The timing of subscription for those that are lucky enough... But who knows if too much complaint maybe they remove RM9.99 subscribers. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ May 17 2024, 10:13 AM) It is not good if you are already paying a premium for Chinese, which most of us are unless you just registered/switched to lower-tier plans. Good for you that you are able to switched to lower-tier without impacting your subscribed channel.I'm on Platinum now and will downgrade once my contract ends in a couple of months. Too bad for me, I cannot downgrade I need movies + netflix, my parents need Sports, the kids need Kids channel. So basically no other choice. |

QUOTE(azrilyp @ May 23 2024, 03:29 PM) with regards to Astro GO+, Astro mentioned that can watch up to 4 devices at a time (1 smart tv and 3 other devices). Is it possible to install the app to 2 smart TVs but only watch on 1 at a time? Example, I install 1 at my office and another one at my house in the living room? At home, I watch Astro in the bedroom using the Ultra box but at times I want to watch it in the living room. Last time I remember there is a clause stating that the smart TV can be switch between TV only once a month. But I cannot find that statement. Maybe you can try to switch between smart TV and see if its block you from switching again. This post has been edited by cdspins: May 24 2024, 09:23 AM azrilyp liked this post

QUOTE(joshhd @ May 25 2024, 07:31 PM) Has anyone managed to downgrade astro package and removed add ons like some packs/disney hotstar? May I know how you did it? The last time I go to this branch during a weekend, I wait for 1 hour to finally meet the customer service. So prepare and braise yourself :-DOfficially, there's only 2 ways to downgrade your Super Pack 3 to the lower package, which is call customer service 03-95433838, or visit your nearest Astro Exclusive Partner branch (that will be one of the last resort). Live agents, email, feedback form, will not entertain downgrade requests (because anything that will affect their revenue, should be made difficult to customer to do it) I’m hoping to make the plan to be about RM100 per month (basic package+1 multiroom) Unfortunately, that is not possible if you want to maintain your Multiroom box. Your main subscription must exceed RM100 to be eligible for Multiroom Box subscription. The closest alternative you can consider is, Sports Pack (RM99.99) + Multiroom (RM49.99) = RM149.98 excl. tax. I’m not the regular user just doing this to reduce monthly cost for my Parents and they mainly just watch HHD-CHN 333. Starting 1 Apr 2024, Astro has made all Chinese channels practically "free", as it has moved to the base package, making pretty much every Astro customers (regardless of race) able to watch it. All Chinese channels, means from CH300 until CH335. So yes, that includes Astro Hua Hee Dai CH333. More info here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry109501354 === Since you're on Super Pack 3, where you are considered a high-paying customer to them, if you request to switch to a pack that result in a lower monthly fee, there is a high chance that they will propose some retention offers for you, like this: If you stay on <your current pack name>, you will get monthly rebate of <insert amount here> for <number of months> AND/OR free channel preview of <pack/addon name>, then in exchange of additional <between 0 to 36 months> of retention offer contract. Do think carefully before you immediately agree to it, especially if your goal is to pay lesser monthly fee than already is. At the same time, if they see that you're still using the HD or PVR box (anything that is not Ulti or Ultra Box), they would offer you to swap to the new Ulti or Ultra Box for free. Reminder: If you still want to continue using satellite dish to receive TV channels, you must inform the agent to create the upgrade order as "Satellite" in the system. Otherwise, the agent will create your order as "Plug & Play" as it is their current default practice nowadays. The reliability and overall experience of their Plug & Play (100% Internet streaming) service will not be exactly the same as what you can get today from a satellite dish reception (put aside the weather interruption). FollowMeRogerThat If you prefer to walk-in, then yes, the Taman Molek branch is the only Astro Exclusive Partners branch in entire Johor state where you can do downgrades. https://support.astro.com.my/astro-near-me?...clusive-partner According to the website, the branch operating hours are: Monday-Friday: 9:30am - 5:30pm Saturday: 9:30am - 2:00pm Sunday & Public Holiday: Closed |

QUOTE(pokemon @ May 26 2024, 03:50 PM) Oklah, if go alone, bring some books to read, or come prepare with Netflix or something then the wait is bearable lo.If go with whole family with kids or baby, then even 10 minutes feels like eternity. But there isn't much service agent on duty in weekend, 2 or 3 only... then if 1 customer is complaining on the same problem to the service agent for 30 minutes again and again... then the queue become very very long |

Maybe post your bill so that it is clearer. For my case the wifi is charged at the full normal price RM129 and stated as 100Mbps, but it is upgraded to 500Mbps and the price reduction is indicated in bundle discount.
As for the SST the price indicated is without tax, but there is tax legend indicating S1 - 8% or S2 - 6%, so at the bottom then the tax is calculated on the total amount minus the discount. So tax is charged on the discounted price s1 netflix upgrade 9.26 s2 astro fibre 129 s1 platinum 219.99 s1 discount -64 s1 tax 13.22 s2 tax 7.74 |

QUOTE(pokemon @ May 30 2024, 07:03 PM) Assthrow is totally useless in solving problem. Totally agree that once you confirm it is a miscalculation, lodging MCMC report can expedite the process greatly.Lodge your case with MCMC will be expedite the resolution. But I think before he lodge the complaint, it is best that he understand that how his bill is being calculated. Once can confirm they forget to provide rebate, or overcharge SST and etc. then the complaint is valid. |

Just my opinion, if the issue is more that a month and have not resolve yet. You should dragged MCMC in and make yourself clear in your complaint that termination on the basis that service provider cannot provide services (iQiYi) as pertain in contract. In your report file to MCMC, do include all the chat history, emails and also person you contact with. SwarmTroll liked this post

QUOTE(SwarmTroll @ Jun 6 2024, 05:02 PM) They have now assured to me that if they can't solve the issue by deadline, I am allowed to terminate my contract without penalty and receive a discount on my last Assthrow bill (30%). Believe me, MCMC will be involved if these clowns can't resolve their own circus. Just curious, when is the deadline? Who set the deadline by the way? Guess what, today my first call with them, they asked me for video evidence for the FIFTH TIME. Who wants to bet they didn't even start working on it yet since it was made URGENT last Friday to the IT dept. |

QUOTE(smileguy @ Jun 9 2024, 10:42 AM) Just curious, Is there big difference between Singapore (international verions) vs ours. I roughly browse through my friends disney+ in SG, seems the same, just no (Malaysia local content). But those popular and new shows is there.I understand when they just launch, it is quite bad... but now seems not so much difference. |

I think the advertisement sector changed. In the old days, company wants to advertise on TVs and Radios as it is prestige and exclusive. But now, noticed that more and more company setup their own facebook and mange their own PR and advertising through social media. doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(pokemon @ Jun 27 2024, 12:49 PM) So assthrow should close shop right? Won't close whop one, just because earning declines. Even if making loses for 1 quarter or 2 will not close as well.Assthrow forecast for the coming FYs are fooling the investors? If you are assthrow boss, would you screw them up for answer why the actual result is not close to forecast? What about those FTA stations? Their revenues are depending on advertisements to operate right? See the comments from professionals. "it was below our expectation as we have expected 2Q FY1/25 to be weak due to high content cost driven by the UEFA Euro Cup and Summer Olympics,” commented analyst Yin Shao Yang in a results review." "“1Q 1/FY2025 earnings shortfall was driven by adex (advertising expenditure) falling 13% yoy. In fact, 1Q FY1/2025 core net profit was only 14% of consensus’ FY1/2025 estimates.”" Worst case scenario, become a privatize company only. doubleM2 liked this post
