May be a dumb question. How do you use it to pay large amount, say online airline tickets costing several thousands? Or is Samsung Pay only for paying small amount below RM250?

Use actual card PIN, I tested RM1k with CIMB card

If you meant offline purchases, Samsung Pay can be used for large amount. For amount more than RM250, after tapping your device on the terminal, you will be requested to enter your card pin.

Never ever use SPay for large amount as the Reward Points earned is still 40 pts.

Use other eWallet or platforms to maximize benefits of paying large amount at one go

The general formula for point conversion is 333pts equal to RM10.

So, for 40 pts,
= points x RM0.03
= 40 pts x RM0.03
= RM1.20

However, this RM1.20 is only valid for Samsung.com Malaysia website/domain.

The point redemption in the Samsung Members app is totally different conversion. As of today, these are the value of points in the SMember app:


If 650 pts equal to RM5, meaning it's only RM0.00769 per point.

The 5 minutes rule no longer applied over the last few years. Now I do like 3 in 2 minutes also get full points.

Keep in mind applying voucher will revert to MSRP. Don't think of stacking on top of Samsung discounted price. It doesn't work that way.

Meow was about to remind u about that... in meow's situation, the 1st email replied DIDN'T reach SME's inbox. They claimed to not receive meow's email about delivery confirmation. Luckily meow send the 2nd reply but using different Samsung Account's email and then immediately call the careline to confirm whether they have received the 2nd reply. On the same day, SME called meow to confirmed receiving the 2nd email and 3 days after that, received confirmation email from SME that the price will be courier-ed within 90 days after official announcement in the SMember app...


Conclusion: Always double check with them after email-ing the confirmation delivery details.
