Anyone know if this Unifi turbo plan applies to Business Unifi as well?
*
I think it will but on the other hand maybe not.

QUOTE(nimbus kayano @ Jul 5 2018, 11:22 AM)
My eyes may play a trick on me, cannot find it anymore. Not on my bills, but at the Unifi website portal. At the subscribed Internet package. I thought I saw it listed 60Gb cap, but when I look for it again it’s not there.
*
QUOTE(Max @ Jul 5 2018, 11:41 AM)
yep.. last time it is listed under our unifi details.. 60gb monthly quota.
but it wasn't enforced.. so no cap..

i check back after upgrade/changed package no more listed.

your eyes r ok..  icon_rolleyes.gif

It's still there but hidden away in the rewards section.

I saw my bill, my package actually list 60gb cap for my 100Mbps Unifi.

I don’t think I reached 60gb, but anyone here ever ‘felt’ the cap?

It seems like reload to prepaid has been disabled, it is missing in the app now.. mega_shok.gif

Same here. Early this morning still got but error when try to topup. Later in the afternoon, they removed the prepaid topup. Up to now still don't have.

Razer Pay replied to my email and said they will look into adding UniFi to the prepaid reloads. Hope they can do it before 90 days cause I don't really want to spend real money on it.

It would still be fine if the user exceeds 60GB of usage, speed to be throttled at 10mbps. After all this cheaper plan are targeted for lower income bracket and also light users.
*
Hi may I know is this your assumption? because for me if throttled to 10mbps is still good enough.

Go to your account dashboard at unifi.com.my then click "Redeem Now" then click "Use my Reward Points" then click "Use All Points" then enter "soonwai". Last part is quite important.

That will be cool, luckily my router can support up to 300Mbps. laugh.gif

Strange is that TM haven't reduced the price for UNIFI Pro instead they offer more than double speed.

300Mbps will be under utilized for most of us. Need to check my ASUS 87U can support more than 300Mbps or not.

Well, it's not wrong if you keep your expectation low. But I will keep faith and stick to my prediction. Afterall, they did say "more than double the speed". Unless I misunderstood the meaning of this term. If not, I don't think TM would dare to post fake news. Lol.

As long as it's AC router, then it should be ok, for both wired and wiredless.

Any routers with a gigabit port is fine for wired. As for wireless, you might not get full speed depending on how fast the packages being offered.

Hope to see a 1 gbps internet package though.

Yes it’s just my point of view on how TM can still market it as unlimited, by throttling it down to a reduced speed upon exceeding monthly quota for the entry-level package.

You are right at my rewards section.

So there is a ‘soft’ cap (unenforceable)?

I think it’s just left over from the VIP5 days. 60GB was the quota for that and 90GB for VIP10.

Are your accounts relatively new? Mine are from right when they launched Unifi. What year I also forget already.

Spoke to CS on the phone today (5/7/2018), he mentioned that existing customer (eg VIP10/Advance @ 30/10Mbps at RM179) with HyppTV can walk in to TMpoint and ask for downgrade to UniFi LITE @ 10/5Mbps at RM129 and still access HyppTV through existing HyppTV box, major difference in the plan is that telephone calls are chargeable.

May work out for me if UniFi LITE is upgraded in August 2018 to 30Mbps (since I am on VDSL and speeds can't get better) but if UniFi LITE's download speed is only increased to 20Mbps, will be a bummer.

The real major issue is upload speed as I have an IP camera (FHD/1080p) and occasionally use remote desktop - would 5Mbps upload be sufficient?

CS encouraged me to wait till mid August 2018 to see if existing VIP10/Advance plan price is reduced.

Any advice? I am currently paying RM179 (RM199 -20) for 30/10Mbps, out of contract long ago and strongly prefer not to be inconvenienced with change of telephone number (as business involved), hence did not register a new account earlier to enjoy the lower RM139 rate but get bound by new 24 months contract.
*
Bro, no need to register new account. Just go to TMPoint and change your package to 30mbps at RM139, which hopefully your VDSL can support. It will not disrupt your phone line because this is not termination but just change of package.
