David83, suddenly I got an idea.

Try uninstall your WeChat. (I know you have done this many times)
Then wipe clean everything related to WeChat in your phone. I mean, ,make sure you delete every folder belonging to WeChat that is left over after the uninstallation (like, delete the whole folder named "Tencent" in your storage) (provided that no important chat history you want to retain) (Am suggesting this because even if we uninstall, some folder will still remain right? wipe them clear all)

then reinstall the lastest apk.

try to see if this works.

yeah，agree. I am one of those who is lazy to install so many app and e-wallet in my phone taking up all my phone memory.
I am so loyal to my 'principle' that I only have WeChat installed in my phone, and no Whatsapp. LOL!
that is why I still hope very much that WeChat Pay Wallet to improve and be as good as its counterpart in China.

Now I have Boost installed in my phone simply because of its cashback reward. I doubt I will use it once the cashback reward ends..

I was using Whatsapp before switching to WeChat. What made me switched to WeChat was that I hate people simply add me in group chats in Whatsapp and I ended up having too many chat groups which I am not active at all, and feel paiseh to leave group because everyone will be notified. Then WeChat came into picture. I discovered that I can have more privacy there because I can leave a chat group without people knowing. I can also set how people can find me (through my WeChat ID and/or handphone and/or QQ etc.). And there are other user-friendly functions such as converting voice message to text message (useful when I am in a meeting), input (Mandarin/Cantonese/English) voice message on my side and directly appear in text form (useful when I have a lot of things to say but lazy to type), translating between Chinese and English text (now can even snap shot a picture that contains Eng/Chi and do whole page translation automatically), shake to know a song's name (useful when I am listening to radio and want to know the name of the song that is playing), official subscriptions in which I can subscribe to content I am interested in, Moments (mini version of FB), allowing/not allowing certain people to view (part or whole of) my Moments, setting to manual verification before accepting new friend requests, sharing live location with each other (very useful when I am lost in China! hahaha), edit photo (like drawing line, circle some part of the photo which I want the receiver to see, adding mosaic or blurring some part of the photo to avoid that part being seen by the receiver) before sending to other users, etc. There are some more functions which I don't use so I can just disable them. And now with WeChat MY wallet incorporated, I feel thrilled to try out. Just too bad its Malaysian Wallet Team is progressing too slow.

From what I know, the walkie-talkie function is no longer there though. It's the users who misuse the function I would say but some uncle aunty don't know how to type, so they had to use voice message. but for people who can type yet still use voice message a lot, I think that should not be the way.

Nevertheless, I do miss Whatsapp interface which I think is better (smoother feel?). Lucky that WeChat has gradually improved its interface compared to the earliest versions.

By the way my language setting is in Chinese. Don't know if that affects or not.

I have just experienced ordering food from wechat yesterday. Well the service provider actually works as a runner. I leave my order to them. then they help me to go buy food, and send to somebody. Throughout the whole process I just sit in my office, and paid using WeChat angpao. I got to know this service from the QR code spread by the service provider.

what do you mean by please share how? you mean you want the QR code? by the way I am in Kuching.
