It's not available to majority MY users, even users which managed to change wallet region earlier can no longer perform any transaction at the moment. It has been disabled.

According to WeChat Pay MY CS team, it will be ready within two weeks time but no confirmed date is given.

I'm not sure why but, every time i press add Debit Card it shows a page saying that "We are currently upgrading our system to improve our service. Any inconvenience is regretted."

Am I the only one receiving this?

Charging merchants for adopting the service isn't gonna lead to a good outcome, they don't understand the Malaysian mindset, do they?

Actually, I think it is, Revenue Monster is a solution for merchants to adopt e wallet payments, saw that they do provide Wechat Pay, Alipay and TnG app payment solutions. If I'm not wrong, they were there together with BNM and Tencent themselves during the private press conference of Wechat Pay Malaysia last year.

Honestly, after all the half baked stuff and long wait, I'm starting to lose some hope on them, they really suck at managing their launch here. At least have an official public announcement on the news first, Boost up the hype when it's already there, and make a confirmation on the launch date. Now we're just stuck here and hanging without any news at all.

"2 weeks" deadline will be up soon and I will send them another reminder.

I don't bother anymore if they are opening it here or not, the team is a total failure.

First, I use it for online overseas transactions e.g. Taobao. Super super good rate, no other card beats it. Can swipe physically in overseas and even withdraw cash locally/overseas (though I will say minimize withdrawal if possible to reduce BigPay's suspicion)

Second, it can be reloaded with credit cards which I earn cash back.

So, these two reasons already bet the rest of competitors hands down. At least for me.

And it can be used for WeChat Pay (if they decide to finally open WeChat Pay here).

Also, lastly, no processing fees to purchase AirAsia tickets.

OT though, there is a specific discussion for BigPay.

I top up WeChat Pay with BigPay on 6 June and request payment from WeChat Pay on 6 June. My Bank Account had received fund from WeChat Pay on 8 June. However, my top up to WeChat pay is still in "Pending" status when I viewed my BigPay transaction history today (29 June). No settlement is done yet..

I think maybe WeChat Pay is facing issue on the payment gateway to receive fund, that's why until now not yet released officially.

You will need a China mobile number also, beside China bank account. So 2 hurdles.

Just ask the friend to buy you a new no. I used to have one number too and my friend forgot to pay for my monthly access fees, eventually got terminated. : Then I noticed only certain big telco flagship shops in bigger cities will entertain foreigners application, other places won't accept.

Luckily I activated my wallet years ago, no need all these. Didn't know it is so difficult these days.

Damn, finally my wechat got wallet. Last month keep complaint to wechat no wallet. I go to seagm pay $$$ to ask ppl activate wallet. In the end they refund money to me because they failed to do it. I was tried to add my AmBank and RHB bank debit cards and it was worked but not accept credit card.

Suddenly I will need to travel to China end of the month, first time I travelled to China after WeChat Malaysia wallet is turned on. Previously all with just China wallet.

I shall try with MY wallet though I know it won't work but well who knows.

As I will also be visiting China in the near future, I’m just curious how do u top up your wallet?

People should really read the first page instead of asking the same question over and over again.
