By the way, just wanna share that if you still cannot get the SMS reply, try go to the 3 dots > FAQ > Account and Security > overview > "Why cant my friends see the WeChat Pay MY Wallet". Over there you can scan the official Account of WeChat Pay Malaysia, and tell them your problem

Why can’t my friend see the WeChat Pay MY Wallet?
The WeChat Pay MY Wallet is available in WeChat 6.3.13 or above. Please tell your friend to update WeChat to the latest version.
In addition, as required by Bank Negara Malaysia, the WeChat Pay MY Wallet is only available to WeChat users who registered with a Malaysian mobile number or those resident in Malaysia at the time of registration. If your friend has previously used the Weixin Wallet in China, he or she can try switching the Wallet region by tapping "Me" -> "Wallet" -> "..." (in the top right corner) -> "Switch Wallet Region", and selecting Malaysia.
If your friend has done the above but still fails to see the WeChat Pay MY Wallet, please ask him or her to follow the WeChat Pay MY Official Account and select “Support" -> "Enable Wallet" to report the problem to us. when you switch to China wallet, it is showing the balance in Yuan
when you switch to Msia wallet, it shows balance in RM

My ID is nickname. I am not surprised when they ask for IC because afterall this is dealing with money, high security needed.

I also enjoy using Wechat more and more now. There are lots of wonderful features inside, and bringing more and more convenience to my life. There are lots of people around me who still do not favour it, partly because they are very used to Whatsapp, and partly they do not know what WeChat got to offer. Everyone has the freedom to choose, but I still choose WeChat, haha. Awaiting the whole-page scan translation function to be avaiblabe in Android.

I am anticipating the face-to-face money transfer function, which is not limited to transfer between 2 users who have each other in their WeChat contact list. A useful scenario would be for Grab drivers, in which customers can WeChat Pay them, without needing the driver and customer to add each other as friends in their contact list before they can perform the transfer.

i think it's because too inconvenient for users. i wouldn't want to have an e-wallet which only allows me to pay at merchant A. I want a wallet that encompasses as many merchants as possible

i successfully top up 2 days ago. now i try to top up more, but the top-up button is shown in faded colour and cannot click anymore. can only click the withdraw button. anybody facing the same issue?

i think these few days are the buffer time for the wechat malaysia team to sort out possible technical issues before their official launching on 11 June.
By the way my personal info has finally been verified. very hard to take photo according to their standard. eventually i just use scanner to scan my IC, rather than keep taking using handphone.

i think this has not much to do with its China headquarters. Seems like more to how its Malaysian branch handles the Malaysian version WeChat Pay.

the relative card is only available to China wallet. User's parents can pay using their own empty wallet and charged to their son/daughter's wallet.

yes, still cannot. i topped up rm 8 before they freezed the wallet until now. still waiting.

i wonder if those are for the mainland Chinese tourists. because Malaysian version is still in the process of updating.
