Yes. That's what I'm doing, I have China friends working in Malaysia so they will transfer to my WeChat and I pay them back in MYR. Just doing a favour for me.

I'm not sure because I don't have any China bank account except those opened in Malaysia like ICBC but cannot be linked to China wallet.

According to my best friend in China, she said cannot. Need to link to a card, either ATM card, debit card or credit card.
ATM and debit card can transfer money and give angpau but credit card cannot.
Credit card can only be used for expenses.

Expenses is for merchants and bills payments, Didi (e-hailing), train tickets for e.g.

Yes, it is useful to use in China.

AliPay is the same, you will need to be verified (using passport for foreigners) to receive and transfer fund to other users. You cannot reload your wallet unless you link to a China bank account.

Now I have both WeChat Wallet China and AliPay to use in China and previously I had issue with AliPay to receive fund from other users. So I was using only WeChat wallet. To me, I can still survive with either one because the places I went have both available. Now will be better for me because I can use both now.

I am using Malaysia no., again I'm not sure now. I got these two accounts since 2013.

No, our foreign cards added into China wallet is useless, can't do anything with it anymore these days. Though I don't understand why WeChat allows when it serves no purpose.
