Ya same goes to me. And now I check my China wallet, actually my status which is "Verified".
But actually I did not do anything on my wallet, that time when I activate my China wallet (which is years ago), I just link my credit card on it. Dont know why I being verified automatically

And nowadays unable to get it by same way, my sister trying want to activate China wallet, but unable to, must have to China identity/bank card to get verified.

Actually I shared before the "verified" status and someone here mentioned it is not a real verification. I feel that is true because I didn't use any CN NRIC or bank card to link with this wallet.

For me, I'm happy as I can use both WeChat Pay CN and Alipay in China, I'm already grateful enough else it is a PITA to use cash and even worse CC in China.

What i mean was because china user can use it oversea like malaysia and thai whenever the merchant accept it which malaysia cant.

But reading up seems like even you have yuan but ur not china verified you still not able to get to use it.

Those that can use are those old timer before the new law implemented.

So basically I should just give up exploring wechat pay in China. Same goes to alipay.

What is the different wechat China and Malaysia. From Google play is the same thing but just the registration method?

You can try opening the angpau and it should prompt you to add a card, if it allows MY card then you are in luck else nothing can be done.

Big difference between WeChat Pay MY and CN, CN has more features. The app is the same thing but the wallet makes a difference.

Too bad. It was still possible in November.

Because if can use here, china people can withdraw money from wechat into Malaysian bank account. China govt impose capital control so that their people don't lari money out of the country.

And can use China Wallet in Malaysia. My China friends used their Alipay and WeChat Pay here in Malaysia.
In fact before WeChat Pay MY was launched, WeChat Pay was already available in Malaysia for China tourists.

Add on: It seems I also got it when I reloaded small sum of money to reload for TuneTalk and suddenly RM 5 voucher available. I just used it to offset my RM 10 TT reload. Then shake and got another RM 3.60 with RM 5 spending.
