The Wechat Pay team here should really do something asap, otherwise many will ditch it and go for Boost.

Because KK mart has the best implementation.

Boost already doing it, already in the process of becoming cashless society, loving it so far, just that it's not perfect yet.

Doubt much will happen with Wechat Pay anytime soon, they're just slow in expansion, and the experience still isn't up to par yet.

Nope, I usually reload it with online banking via the app, since it's more convenient.

But I'm more curious to know that has anyone managed to link the card with Boost? Wechat Pay is hopeless when it comes to prepaid cards because it can't even link with Bigpay, but yet Boost can, and my main gripe is the fact that Aeon Plus can't be linked with Boost.

Feel like ditching it and switch to Bigpay though, probably gonna do it if things aren't changing after a month.

The card isn't bad tbh because I shop in Aeon often, and I can use it as a prepaid card, but it still can't completely do what it's supposed to do yet. And the Aeon app, still needs tons of improvement.

My friend tried to use it in Starbucks today, scanned few times and still didn't work.

Potential e wallets like Grabpay and Favepay needs some love as well, and if someone can open a Boost thread in this section then it would be perfect tbh.

Probably due to first day of the promotion and also the first day that Starbucks accepting Wechat Pay I guess...

It's sad though, it's one of the most anticipated e wallets here and they wasted their opportunity.

Btw, I was actually kinda anti Grab cuz of the monopoly issue, so I didn't wanna bother about Grabpay as well. But after a while, I didn't really care anymore, because Grab is still the most reliable one when it comes to e hailing, thought of giving others a chance but they are having issues. And then thought of giving Grabpay a chance and it's actually not that bad lol, I can see it replacing Wechat Pay in my case.

And that's how you survive as an e wallet service here I guess, you gotta be quick in partnering with merchants, provide attractive rewards, advertise more etc., which Wechat failed to do all of them.

Yup, very sad.

They think our market is like China, where people use debit cards way more often than credit cards, but in reality it's not the case here.
