That is superb! We need more advertising and awareness from the supporting retailers similar to this. Thank you for posting and sharing that, Bro! 👍👍✌

We will keep striving for e wallets until they go mainstream...

can anyone confirm that the mydin one is accepting wechatpay my or cn version? smile.gif

Usually, when the logo is in english, then that should mean that it's the my version.

At least that's how it is usually.

I notice that most of the scanners used by merchants in the 50% CB promo have MPAY logo on it.
*
You mean the terminal? Yes, you're right, the terminal is provided by Mpay.

But what I meant was the POS system, with everything linked in the computer and a barcode scanner.

There is also one Sang Nyuk Mian kopitiam accepting Boost too with a big Boost banner hanging outside the shop in KK suburb. And today a friend told me another kopitiam near to his hospital has started to accept Boost too.

Besides Boost, there are quite a few kopitiam that accept FavePay too in KK.
*
Just wondering, are Boost and Favepay well received in KK?

Boost in KK getting more and more. The agent is aggressive getting more merchant to sign up.

Favepay hardly see here in KK.
*
Awesome, hope by the time I visit KK again, Boost will be almost everywhere.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Sep 7 2018, 06:22 AM)
I have used FavePay at 1 fish head noodles soup kopitiam and 1 Korean Restaurant nearby my house in KK quite a few times during my recent visit back to my hometown. There is 1 all-day dining English Breakfast restaurant accepting FavePay too at Metrotown, about 15 minutes from the city centre. I was quite bumped when it was suddenly announced that we can no longer choose to pay with Boost anymore via the FavePay app.
*
I'm wondering why they stopped the Boost payment via Favepay, they said they was something that needed to be sorted out, but it's been a while now.

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Sep 7 2018, 07:57 AM)
Blessed that KK and East Malaysia states are progressing faster than the Peninsula. Would love to be able to pay for food and drinks at kopitiams using my e-wallets.
*
It should be KK and KV (Klang Valley) that are progressing equally fast instead, many other cities in EM and Peninsula haven't get onto the e wallet bandwagon get.

Just like Grab, when they expanded to EM, it took quite a while to be expanded to smaller towns like Lahad Datu if I'm not wrong.

QUOTE(Alert_RaZO @ Sep 7 2018, 11:36 AM)
Can mod or u create a subforum on e wallet or digital wallet?
*
I requested the admin about that before, admin said they will do it when there are more e wallet discussion threads made in this section, but seems like not much people are interested in that.

Tried using Wechat Pay at 99 speedmart yesterday...

Apparently, the e wallet acquirer that 99 speedmart uses is called Walletz, and transaction is made via it's own app by scanning your QR code.

The staff was kind enough to lemme try, he took the company's phone, opened the app, entered the amount and scanned my QR code...

And guess what?

Transaction failed, for 2 times.

Alamak! Like this also fail. How to encourage more people to use WeChat Pay like this?
*
I'm starting to think that if the one that 99 accepts is actually the legit Malaysia Wallet or just the China Wallet...

Did they have the english or chinese WeChat Pay sticker displayed some where in their store?
*
You can search few pages back to see it...

Not really a Wechat Pay sticker, but a big sticker from the merchant acquirer outside the store with a list of e wallets that they "accept", Wechat Pay being one of them but it's displayed in chinese.

I wonder why Chatime is still stubborn to not even accepting an e wallet yet...

But oh well, good to know that more merchants are starting to accept Wechat Pay...

That's why I don't understand why are the rest so shy to advertise themselves for this campaign.

Btw, a user can only redeem a total of 5 times during the entire campaign period and limited to once a day. This will control those abusers. 🤣😂
It is Chatime's loss for being so stubborn.

I wonder what happened to all the other merchants logo, like Mydin, KK Mart, etc?
*
Could it be because it's Wechat's idea of limiting the participating brands based on the demand from the people?

These participating brands usually have high amount of customers though...

And indeed it's Chatime's loss for not even accepting e wallets, personally I prefer Chatime and Gong Cha way over Tealive tbh, they gotta accept at least one mainstream e wallet for me to buy from them more often.

Yes, you might be right because those partnering merchants do already have a steady influx of customer base already.

As for Chatime, maybe the reason for not participating with WeChat Pay is because Tealive is already there. You know, how it is with business rivalry.

On a side note, I though Tealive was supposed to suspend their business operations due to a court order? I'm guessing they are just being defiant.
*
Problem is, Chatime doesn't even accept one e wallet, at least accept something like Boost, e wallet payments have a lot of potential when it comes to F&B merchants. If it's because of business rivalry, then there are more reasons for them to accept e wallets.

As for the court order, wasn't there a news stated that both of them already settled outside the court and Chatime already retracted their lawsuit? But I'm still never gonna patronize Tealive anyways, same goes to Gindaco and Llao Llao which are under the same company.

They used to accept paywave using mbb terminal, until loob breakcon relationship, now new chatime work with cash only.
*
At least accept a mainstream e walllet like Boost, but they should really provide cashless payment as alternate method.

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Sep 24 2018, 09:42 PM)
Crap, they rather inconvenience the customers due to a broken partnership???? Quickly reapply for a new merchant terminal la.
*
It's still normal for these F&B merchants to accept only cash I guess, look at Gong Cha, Koi and Coolblog for example...

Tealive has an edge over the others cuz they accept a few e wallets, but still not gonna patronize them lol.

Oh ok thanks. Just tumpang to share here, so damn pissed today, enter the promo code before payment, got the notification "promo code successfully added" but didn't get the cash back. Their customer service damn bad, they refused to entertain and even deleted all my chat history with them. I open a case they even closed it without any reply.
*
Sorry to hear that, but I think Fave is getting worse lately, I've heard a few had similar experience like yours with the CS, and I saw few merchants stopped accepting Favepay, and also Fave stopped accepting Boost as payment method for quite a while now.

Wonder what happened...
