Yeah, quite risky because if one of the switches broke, it's considered DOA.
*
maybe you should check with the seller first before purchase. if basics like DOA is not even taken care of, it's an issue.

if it's just bad switches, that's easy to fix. but if the problem is from things like pcb then it's another story already.

2. Massdrop CTRL, form factor: tkl, https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-ctrl-...anical-keyboard
3. Massdrop x Tokyo Keyboard Tokyo60 Keyboard Kit, form factor: 60%, https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-tok...60-keyboard-kit
4. Rama Works M60-A, form factor: HHKB-style, https://ramaworks.store/products/m60-a

sorry but your budget is slightly off for new boards with cherry mx rgb. you can top up a bit to get non-led ikbc c104.

have you tried any of them at a shop or something? it's better for you to do that first.

I believe from a usability stand point, both of those TKL boards will be a better choice. You should give them a try first as Horns mentioned. Anyway, my first board was a brown switch if I'm not mistaken. I thought it's like a middle ground between the reds and blues. hehehe... tongue.gif

New caps just came in. First time trying DSA profile. It's easier than SA profile, at least for me.
Caps is obviously not perfect (from a price point perspective, I guess it's okay?). Some obvious misaligned keys is killing me. My OCD is off the chart whenever I look at it. hahaha...
If you are interested: DSA Laser Etched

*yes, it's laser etched legends on PBT. Not the thickest PBT as well.

Easier to type on compared to SA. Perhaps I'm used to lower profile compared to high profile.

Maybe if you use it along with a wrist rest then it's not as much of an issue. I tried with wrist rest but I don't like to rest my wrist on something. So, I really think it's just personal preference. rclxub.gif

you can try out lowyat plaza. there are some shops, hence a better collection of demo units. i think you should check out switch types first.
