i saw some of u said that the cherry stabs from ebay is the authentic one, i tried searching for it and come across this seller.. is this the one that sells the genuine cherry stabs? cherry stabsbought a dz60 board from kbdfans and uses his assembly service.. too bad the stabs that comes with the board is a china knock off and they rattle.. read in reddit that the stabs is a lost cause n even lubing it will not remove the rattling.. was thinking to change it This post has been edited by kraziekd: May 4 2018, 03:04 PM

QUOTE(antaras @ May 4 2018, 04:11 PM) Can't really 100% tell if those are genuine or knock offs but judging by his seller feedback, he should be okay. Anyway, how are you going to change the stabs since it's already assembled? I assume you will be re-soldering the whole board if you need to change the stabs. Unless I am mistaken. yea..i'm planning to desolder it.. well by desolder it i mean hire someone since i dun have the equipment to desolder it xD QUOTE(horns @ May 4 2018, 04:16 PM) no wonder. if you had the chance, try varmilo. you will find your ikbc board is still missing something. yes i got some from this same seller. however if you are using pcb-mount stabs, you should try out screw-in pcb-mount stabs. they're secured firmly to the pcb via screws. ok now i got it; not all from corsair's are using aluminum plate yeah those caps :/ oO..yea i think mine is the mount stabs.. maybe i need to recheck

QUOTE(antaras @ May 4 2018, 04:35 PM) So, if you are getting the screw in stabs, then you can just buy from kbdfans as well. GMK screw-in stabilizers They are the real deal and I am using them right now. Rattle be gone... hehehe... oO.. i might check them out.. because when I bought my board from kbdfans i asked him if he had a different stabs in stock n he said he ran out.. so my choice was left with the oem knock off stabs.. whats the difference between the screw in stabs n pcb mount stabs? QUOTE(horns @ May 4 2018, 05:27 PM) yes better confirm first. i guess it's pcb-mount because of cutouts of dz60 plates imo should be meant for pcb-mount stabs. does that mean the dz60 cant use the screw in stabs?

QUOTE(antaras @ May 7 2018, 02:08 PM) You can try Ace Hardware for Super Lube 21030. It's the grease type. This will be suitable for stabs. You can also use this for your switches but most veterans will advice against this. For proper switch lubrication, you can try Taobao. You can use a forwarder for Krytox GPL105. It's not cheap though. Good luck! thx.. geez the price.. haha.. if i buy the 50g.. how many bottles do I need to get for a whole switches for 60 keyboard

QUOTE(antaras @ May 7 2018, 02:19 PM) A single 50g bottle is more than enough for a 60 board. I tried both Krytox and also Super Lube on my linear switches, in truth, it's not that much different from both of them. However, I can definitely say it's much easier applying Krytox compared to the grease type Super Lube. Anyway, I only tried on linear switches and nothing else. got cha.. i'm using gateron red currently

QUOTE(horns @ May 12 2018, 12:32 PM) .. i guess we have to find out this one ourselves. my friends are using cheap tools to solder/desolder stuff. they told me to practice more to know what your tools can do, then adjust timings accordingly. good tools do help, but practice makes perfect. set 1set 2this r some of the soldering iron sets i found in lazada.. will these do the works or i should find others?

QUOTE(quadcube @ May 13 2018, 04:11 PM) Should work fine. Even if the iron doesn’t perform to your expectation, just get a 35W Hakko soldering iron from Jln Pasar. My priority would be something like this: top quality soldering lead > high quality soldering flux > variety of soldering iron tip (Ori Hakko or better, with different pitch and shape) > soldering iron itself (doesn’t really matter, just switch out the heating element if any element) what does soldering flux do?

QUOTE(quadcube @ May 13 2018, 05:43 PM) Used to clear the oxides and helps “wet” the solder better. Basically, solder lead do have flux inside their core, but usually I prefer more flux for certain applications i see.. any suggestion of a high quality soldering lead and soldering flux?

QUOTE(GRexer @ May 14 2018, 03:04 PM) Shouldn't be an issue, but I would recommend getting some old broken electronics to practice on first if this is the first time you're actually doing any soldering. For the price, I'm not sure if you can get a similar kit from Jalan Pasar(if you live around KL and surrounding areas) instead of ordering online. how much are the kits sell in jalan pasar? i live in kepong.. might go there to look if i'm free

QUOTE(quovadis123 @ May 28 2018, 09:15 AM) It's very low demand until extinction because the Cherry MX switch is heavy at 60g. That's why we will not see any MX black now. However, Japan and oversea still selling the black switch, although the popularity is going down. Now we have replacement using Gateron Black which widely acceptable in the community because of the 50g. You may try gateron black, it's good. For most board i try introduce in the community, I insist to get the black switch first. i concur.. gateron black and gateron yellow is super nice and smooth.. i regret not getting either of those two for my dz60.. maybe i'll get them for my second kb or maybe the kailh box black or dark yellow
