someone posted their trade in value price as reference

That’s not that bad, actually, if you bought the devices at discounted price to begin with smile.gif

No. Note 8 RRP price will only drop at half or 1 month before Note 9 is going to be released.

u r so wrong to judge the system security.
ur "fren" may be dumb enough to uses easy pattern unlock.

just like ppl who use abc123 as their password for online banking. then u will say the website is not secure.

i think what he meant on why pattern lock is not really secure is because it can be easily noticed by people standing around the phone

so if someone were to steal the phone... they just have to remember the pattern that they spied on

however, as for personal use without any prying eyes then yes, its quite secured.

but not when you're in public

thats why i prefer fingerprint or face unlock

and i set pin instead of pattern.. so i can tap it quickly and they wont be able to see what code i tapped on. lol

For your reading pleasure

Complicated password is still the best if you worry about security (in case you have top secret data on your phone) but anyway the whole system itself is not secured enough in which should any professional criminal or police wants your phone data they will still get it.

Otherwise, people like me just want to avoid casual non-criminal breach of personal space, hence i actually prefer the most convenient security unlock that is face recognition.

Nice assumption you have there about my friend using easy pattern unlock but you were wrong.

Memorize a long pattern lock is more easier than remembering a long-ass numbers.

In today world, pretty much everyone and their mothers unlock their phone in the public, not once but plenty of the time in the one session of meeting/teatime/dining.

sometime it might not ur fault , define what is mean by ACCIDENTLY

when u holding the phone , someone langgar belakang u and u drop the phone , screen crack , so that when thing happen
Or when u kid having ur phone , then he might accidently drop the phone and screen crack

when u put ur phone on table , someone hit the table and ur phone drop , screen crack
why do we need insurance? Because we need to make sure our life and our family is protected in future , no matter how u take care the good , thing will happen one day sir  smile.gif

in my opinion , a case and a TG is a must for a phone , because the screen itself is super duper expensive , i seriously can't afford to keep change the screen by paying Rm1k  sad.gif

If really one day i'm so unlucky both TG and Screen crack at the same time , then i have nothing to say , because at least i already try to protect my phone but it stil accidently drop  cry.gif

Yes. I do not disagree that there might be accidental crack. I experienced it once when my S6e screen cracked when my son dropped my ipad onto it.

1) I basically do not prefer to give my son my phone. Even when my wife or me let them watched youtube, it will be placed on the table and not their palm.

2) You will only dropped your phone off your table if you have really messy one. Time to tidy up a little bit.

Accidents do happen, but most of it can be prevented if you just exercise some precautions. How many here guilty of walking with your phone in your hands? Thats why I said you need to take good care of it.

Also I do not discriminate if you feel the need for TG or SP. Why I voiced out is because some said to help get better RV when upgrading. My wife pre-order package came with SP and I helped her applied it. I mentioned it couple of times before in S8 threads.

hmmm i am using my note 8 naked since Day 1. I use a normal case only just because note 8 is to slippery to hold on hand. the case give me better holding feeling.

so far i have no regrets using it without any TG. My screen already scratched a bit but wouldnt care much so long it's working fine.

i have the 1 year screen cracked warranty which can ease of my mind for 1 year. whistling.gif

There are bound to be micro scratches if you dont use an SP or TG. From the S6E to the S7E, then the S8+ and Note 8, I still have yet to find the perfect type of SP for the curved screens. Still have yet to try the Whitestone though. Im pretty sure the S9/S9+ will be of no exception.

I guess its time for us to accept that micro scratches are normal. I want to remove the mentality to keep screen pristine from myself.. hell it is on use so there must be wear tear.. we got carried away with the time before gorilla glass and early days of it, in which the screen can get bad scratch, like deep apparent scratch just due to in contact with common hard materials. But it is no more, even when the phone in contact with keys in pocket, there will be just minor scratch that you only can see under well lit condition.

I can't accept micro scratches on actual surface, I feel it's a distraction when in certain angle it appears but I can accept scratch on my screen protector because once I replace it's like new.

There are also complaint that the paint from the bezel coming off .

Once awhile I will remove the case to enjoy the beauty of perfection

go with whitestone or HODA (both full adhesive)

it really feels like there is no SP attached on the screen

sensitivity is just like original screen laugh.gif

but seems like im the only one in note 8 thread reporting (although there's quite a number of HODA users) on the HODA status, so far 1 month 2 weeks now, still good and no cracks

yes RM200 but the seller will help you to apply

just have to COD with him at MCD @ BSD

so far it seems like he is only selling for the note 8, not sure if he will carry it for the s9/s9+ hmm.gif

where as for whitestone, if you are super confident and have steady hands, then can save RM30 by buying it for RM169 and DIY nod.gif

for me i dont have the confidence, so i paid 200 to him to do it for me. haha

Now most of s9/9+ on paper is perfect except for battery size and the price. Hope to see 3000mah battery perform great just like 4000mah one.
